Me, my Guru
On Buddha and sweets
Today ½ an
hour seemed like an hour. Surprising how time expands when we are suffering and
runs fast when we are happy? Does everyone feel this way or just me?
She maintained
her time like a clock. Exactly ½ hr later, she took her seat. She had just sat.
She hadn’t settled yet. But our restlessness found its expression through
Vaishnav’s question “So you are saying Reiki Master’s words are more powerful
than us students?”
She laughed
as if at the joke of a kid. She settled herself. Drank from her glass and then
started her answer “when did I say Reiki master?”
“You said
words of Masters have more energy in them” blurted Vaishnav confused.
“Oh, that!
I was telling anecdote from Buddha’s life. And so, I referred to him and other
Guru’s as Masters. I never meant Reiki Masters – ever!” she replied.
Vaishnav’s
anger came down considerably. And so did our restlessness. Surprising, how we
listen! Even more surprising is how we process what we listen. Why did we get
angry even to assume that a Reiki Master’s words carried more weightage than
ours? Some of us applied it to our Guru. Even then, they had expressed anger.
Why?
But our Guru continued her explanation oblivious to our fight within
“Before understanding difference between Masters and our words let us see one
example. Imagine a bulb. Now it is covered by a vase which is broken at various
places. Now see/imagine the light that comes out of that bulb. Look at the
amount of space lighted up because of all those cracks in that vase. What do
you see?” she asked.
“A room
brightened up and looking beautiful!” we replied.

Read the above link given to understand :
- the qualities required in the student to receive from the Guru
- Qualities required in any person to receive from the Universe
- When the student is ready, Master comes in his life - this means student is not waiting for someone to come and fulfill all his demands. It means he is pure in heart, worked on ego, developed patience and humility, surrenders his ego and expects nothing but to serve his Master. The quantity of qualities developed in the student is the deciding factor for how much he receives.
- When the student's state of mind is right and calm and he is pure in heart, then Guru can teach through any and every form in the Universe.
- Guru gives/God gives/Reiki gives and is giving all through - but the big question is 'Are we ready and capable enough to receive?"
Pointers to understand this post better :
- "She maintained her time like a clock". - The quality of being disciplined is pre-requisite to being a great person. Every person who is of good character and successful respects time and doesn't take others for granted. Even when the person grows in stature and he is waited upon by others, he still respects others time too in his every dealing! Every one thinks, dreams, wishes to be respected, successful, appreciated and be called 'great'. Greatness is achieved by such simple attitudes as respecting time and being disciplined.
- "She had just sat. She hadn’t settled yet. But our restlessness found its expression through..." - Here the character flaw of the students is evident. One who is selfish is never bothered about others comfort, time or any other thing. They are bothered only about their needs to be fulfilled. They can't wait. Their restlessness is the reflection of their selfishness. Outgrow this nature. Be sensitive to others need too. Develop patience to wait. No one owes you their time and service to you. Seek but with respect and patience. Give them space. Don't be 'ME centric' in all your dealings with people. You will drive people away from you this way! Overcome this selfishness!
- "Vaishnav’s anger came down considerably. And so did our restlessness" - this shows how our presumptions take us down the lane of hell........why wait to go to hell when we can live it in many shades with our thought process and assumptions? And we say, we are afraid of death and going to hell and living out our punishments? Are we? Then why are we creating hell for ourselves every single day of our life? This anger is burning hell that we carry with us every single minute of our life........drop it....no body can drop it for you. Be wise, be sensible, be brave enough to drop it. No one punishes us the way we punish ourselves and we then assume others to be creating problems for us. No doubt, our problems and suffering never end with this assumption?!?! Wake up! Drop this living hell! Create heaven for self! You own it! You can live it! You deserve it! And yes, even that is beautiful - more beautiful than your hell.....
- You don't become calm when you become a Master. You become Master when you become calm.
