Indian Mythology - Shiva and Parvathi - Me, My Guru

Contd....

Suddenly few of us had a thought – so what’s with this soul-mate concept? Don’t we have (atleast few of us) soul-mates whom we meet in every life? But how could we ask her, she was so lost to us now! Moreover, we were so tongue-tied just looking at her. We don’t know what came over all of us. But we didn’t even need to say aloud as we found in just few nano-seconds.

“And now some charlatans have come up with this mumbo talk of soul-mates and stuff”.

She laughed! It was sort of cynical or was it as if an adult was laughing at the kid’s stupid talk?

“And the die-hard escapist people who wish to be brain-washed into this filmy romance log on to such base-less talkers and dream-sellers. Yes, these sellers know the pulse of the people who come to them for these fairy tale romances and my! Are they good?

So, is there nothing as soul-mates? The answer is yes and no. Yes, to the fact that we all have soul-mates and no – not the way it is advertised. Here me again, I said we have soul-mates, not mate. So, don’t get wrong ideas. We can’t have multiple soul-mates if it is understood as per your definition. But we can have if you understand this definition of soul mates correctly. We get all our relations – be it relatives or friends based on our karma and past psychic impressions. We meet these people because we owe each other something which needs to be cleared. It is not financial as you’ve understood. It can be anything from affection, anger, lack of love, insult or some or the other lesson which we ought to learn from each other. Because of this ‘due’ (ऋण ) we carry a baggage of all emotions for each other too! We are together only till such of lessons is learned or shared. When once the reason is exhausted, the relationship also thins out of life. Mind you not necessarily it has to happen over a fight. Infact, when people move out because of this ‘debt’ being cleared, the shift happens so effortlessly that neither of the parties involved actually even notices or misses it! They part as friends...well mostly....

And those in regular sadhan would see this happening so clearly. Just 5-10yrs and the entire circle of people in their life have changed. That’s actually good sign with regard to soul’s growth.

Next, is the person or persons with whom we share ‘only’ love. With relatives and friends, there is a bag full of emotions ranging from envy, dislike, conditions, fear, expectations, hurt, jealousy and what not. But with these special set of people all we share is concern, love and mutual respect. That number can be more than one in anybody’s life. They are our ‘soulmates’ better understood when said in Sanskrit ‘Atma bandhu’ that means ‘relatives of the soul’. Now, these are the souls whom we meet in our multiple lives only to be supportive of each others’ life agenda. These people are not for your materialistic benefit as much as they are for your soul’s agenda learning of life lessons. All that joy you feel when you are in someone’s company says they are your soul mates (no, I am not talking of joy of physical intimacy with someone).

Your dog also can be your soul mate but every pet is not its owner’s soul mate. Get it? Soul mates don’t have any hidden agenda with the other. ONLY the others’ wellness is of concern to them. They are there in this relationship without a rhyme or a reason.

So, you see one person can have multiple soul mates in one life. For example : I can have my soul-mates in one of my parent+kid+3-4 friends+stranger with whom I interact for 3-4 days by virtue of travelling or job+ pets+grandchild. Get the picture? No where I am in physical relationship with any of these ‘soul mates’, yet they are my soul mates and hence our bond is so full of purity and love. Now is it clear?

Stop labeling all illicit relationships as ‘soul mates’. Don’t fool yourself into believing this stuff to be so and end up messing your life.

Please, I request you to be very careful with your understanding of such topics. If you don’t understand – no problem! Just don’t get it wrong!”

LIFE IS A JOURNEY OF JOY

Enjoy the ride while it lasts

Clarity about our life- its twists and turns and its destination put us at ease with many realities of our life.

'Life is like a train ride . . . We get on. We ride. We get off. We get back on and ride some more. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate at moments of joy; some will result in profound sorrow.'
When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Those people are our parents! Sadly, this is far from the truth.
Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance and their ever presence.

There are others who board the train and who eventually become very important to us, in turn.

These people are our brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances, whom we will learn to love, and cherish.

Some people consider their journey like a jaunty tour. They will just go merrily along .Others, will encounter many upsets, tears, losses on their journey.

Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.

Some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off….

Some will get on and get off the train so quickly, they will scarsely leave asign that they ever travelled along with you or ever crossed your path…

We will sometimes be upset that some passengers, whom we love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave us to travel on our own.

Then again, there’s nothing that says we can’t seek them out anyway.

Nevertheless, once sought out and found, we may not even be able to sit next to them because that seat will already be taken.

That’s okay …everyone’s journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setbacks and goodbyes.

We must strive to make the best of it… no matter what...

We must constantly strive to understand our travel companions and look for the best in everyone.

Remember that at any moment during our journey, any one of our travel companions can have a weak moment and be in need of our help.

We too may vacilate or hesitate, even trip… hopefully we can count on someone being there to be supportive and understanding…

The bigger mystery of our journey is that we don’t know when our last stop will come.

Neither do we know when our travel companions will make their last stop.

Not even those sitting in the seat next to us.

Personally, I know I’ll be sad to make my final stop…. I’m sure of it!

My separation from all those friends and acquaintances I made during the train ride will be painful. Leaving all those I’m close to will be a sad thing. But then again, I’m certain that one day I’ll get to the main station only to meet up with everyone else. They’ll all be carrying their baggage of understanding and learning… most of which they didn’t have when they first got on this train.

I’ll be glad to see them again. I’ll also be glad to have contributed to their baggage… and to have enriched their lives, just as much as they will have contributed to my baggage and enriched my life.

We’re all on this train ride together. Above all, we should all try to strive to make the ride as pleasant and memorable as we can, right up until we each make the final stop and leave the train for the last time.

With this awareness when we travel through our life we will be cautious enough to travel light. Because as they say “with less baggage you always travel easy.”

All through our lives we carry the baggage of pain, anger, frustration, sadness, jealousness. No doubt we drag through our lives. We can live life only if we are light within.

Travel we must through this path called life. But is the journey a joyful one or a laborious one depends solely on the luggage that we carry.

So, unburden yourself for a joyful journey.

Wishing for your journey to be happy,

Revathi

Me, My Guru – On destiny and our choices!

Me, My Guru – On destiny and our choices!

Today, even before she could start our class, I asked her the long pending question of mind “But, if I am to be with the person who is sent into my life, like forever, then am I to suffer the injustice meted by the other who is in my life calling it my fate?”

I asked this question wanting her to say “No need to suffer with them. You can move on. I was so pissed off with the person, the so-called family that has cheated me say forever. I no longer wanted to be abused by them. I wanted to move on. And I felt it was my right to do so.

“Now, in this case, we need to revisit our understanding of fate once again. What is fate?" our Guru started. But, I expected it to be a two-word answer - "no need". But, here she was continuing her explanation "How does it come into effect? Well, for anything to happen, there should be a cause for it, right? Then, for fate to come into effect, the causes are as such:

a.
When we have thought or desired something in our life and wished for it to happen, it manifests in our life – it’s just that sometimes, or rather many times it happens much later in life, when we have almost or completely forgotten our wish.

b.     When we act out of choice. For example, if we choose to bring a child into our life, we have created a destiny for ourselves – that of losing our sleep for many years to come. We lose our carefree way of living. We lose our importance to our child in the family. So on and so forth. So you see, when you make a decision and act on it, the repercussions are called fate. “You asked for it” would fit right for this kind of karma!

c.

When we owe! People take money and conveniently forget it. That comes back as karma. In this category also comes money that is not paid or not paid in full in exchange for any service received.

Similarly, we owe to people their help, to Mother Earth for our existence, to our Pitrus – forefathers for our existence and lineage, our parents and family for our lineage and existence.

We also owe people the harm that we have done to them. If we have harmed anyone or have been hurt by others, we come back and meet each other to clear the slate of that harm. Like-wise with all emotions and feelings.

d.     When the people and situations in our life align with the soul agenda.

People we meet in life!

People we meet in life!

It is not every day that we get to meet people who would make an impact in our lives.

Some meet us far in between but they are sort of part of us though far apart. We carry these people with us where ever we are. They stay as a smile on our lips when their memories or their thoughts cross our minds even if be for a fleeting second.

We stay with few who though staying with us for ages don’t know us and us, sometimes them. They are more of choices of conveniences and compulsions than that of our affections. These relationships burden us with expectations, conditions, pain and suffering.

Some are like that catchy tune which doesn’t leave us however much we try and are playing at the back of our mind all through the day. They bring us our cheer just by being there out of sight yet near our hearts.

Some are easier to forget.

Some make it impossible to forget.

Some make us meet the better version of who we are!

And some shape us into who we are!

Some are like that sweet fragrance that lingers long after its holder is gone.

Each plays their part and fulfills their role in our lives.

At each crossroads of life, we meet some, we leave some.

But those who are carried in hearts and held on as memories never ever leave us for real! They become part of us and stay with us for ever!

Me, my Guru – fish and the ascetic

Me, my Guru –  fish and the ascetic

Attract Positive Energy and Raise Your Vibration - Inspire Good Vibes

“Guruji, I feel so left out in life. I have no one to share my life, emotions and love with. No one is ready to be my friend” complained Vaishnav.

To change your life, you have to change yourself. To change yourself, you have ... | PureLoveQuotes

“Guruji, even I don’t have any friends in my life and I thought my spouse would be my friend. But after marriage, I found that even my spouse is no good. Why does this happen to me repeatedly?” asked someone from behind.

“How come no one listens to me talk? Wherever I go, I find myself alone, why do I not meet or make good friends?” asked Vaishnav. He was crying as he asked this question.

In the next fifteen minutes that followed, we found that most of us were more or less friendless. We had acquaintances but friends – no. And that loneliness hit us hard more than ever now during pandemic period!

Raise your Frequency, Attract Positive Energy - Inspire Good Vibes

We were alone in the crowd. We were surrounded by people – faces that we could recognize but connecting with no one in particular.

Though it was his question, it was an answer most of us found wanting. Few of us seemed to attract people who were mean and hurtful in our lives. So, in a way though we had ‘people’ to say in our life, it wasn’t as if ‘they were for us’. That was both paradox and comical at the same time! We suffered with the people who were in our lives. We suffered because of them. More than that was the desire to be liked, accepted by the other. We wanted to enjoy others’ company. We wanted to be part of a group. Whenever we saw group of friends having good time – well it was envy time for us! We wished we had that too! But it remained a wish for all these years. And today if we found the reason, there may be a way to ‘make friends’ in our life too! So I listened carefully!

the above post explains the 'law of attraction' and a story to back it too......how to ask and what to ask and why we receive differently inspite of asking for the same wish...

Points to be understood :

- Why we attract what we attract in life?

- How we attract what we attract in life?

- Know the law of attraction and instead of finding fault with it, know to put it to good use......

On fate, destiny, attitudes and choices! – Me, my Guru

On fate, destiny, attitudes and choices! – Me, my Guru

She completed her tea and said “Well, fate decides who we meet. That’s for sure! All our yesteryear actions, thoughts, desires, wishes, prayers are responsible for what and who we meet today in our life.

But, it is our heart that decides who we WANT in our life. And so, we chose some and work on our relationships with them. We chose to let go of others.

And finally, it is our attitude that decides who STAY in our life. We and we alone are responsible for people left in our life. Just as we are responsible for the people who leave our life.

Now, you decide how you want to place fate, attitude and emotions or heart in your life.” So saying, she left us to think for ourselves.

We got our answers. But these answers left us with more questions. But then, they were for an another day!

and stop beating up yourself with 'self pity' and wallowing in self-pity in the name of wanting 'happiness and good people' in your life always......that is the mantra for suffering ONLY....

only healing will 'slowly and steadily' get you out of this 'state of mind' and let you experience the abundance called 'happiness' which is nothing but reflection of your state of mind.....but yes, it doesn't happen overnight...some have got it in couple of years and others in a decade and still others - well they are still groping in darkness inspite of holding 'all the degrees' of reiki.....if you don't work on yourself and your perspective no degree and no amount of attending classes can get you there....but attending classes and completing degrees can give you an understanding of problem in your perspective and ways to heal it and remind you to hold on to healing even when the goal looks unachievable and unreal...that's all....

not everyone in the world heals or in the path of sadhan......and most of them are going from bad to worst as years progress in their lives...you can also chose to be one among them...no one can question you on that...or you can chose to learn what needs to be learned, heal what needs to be healed, change your perspective, develop clarity of thought and work towards emptying that 'painful and confused' heart and mind of yours so that you can experience the joy of 'existence' that is already yours but which you are not able to experience because of all that clutter that is in there...

'you are creating your world and all that it encompasses' - till you accept that and sit to change the way you are 'creating your world' you'll never come out of your suffering.....

Me, my Guru – on Sheikh Chilli, the dreamer!

Me, my Guru – on Sheikh Chilli, the dreamer!

Today, everyone seemed restless as I entered the class. And I had thought I was the only one irritated today. But, looking at everyone’s face, it was evident we all had brought our baggage of emotions of frustration, anger, and irritation to the class today. I realized we carried lots of resentment within us. And that was expressed as emotions of frustration, anger and irritation outwardly.

And the person who was our ‘dumping ground’ – our Guru was sitting adjusting her saree (an attire worn by traditional Indian women). She must be humming some sweet melody, I presumed. I mean where was that smile coming from otherwise? She seemed oblivious to our woes. She was in the middle of and centre of our negativity and yet remained calm, poised, smiling and gentle in her conduct. How? I was to never get that answer, I believe!

Tea was served along with biscuits for all. We drank. But no one seemed to be aware of drinking it. But our Guru was seen relishing it without uttering a single word. I didn’t like it. We were in hell and yet, how can our Guru enjoy her tea and be relaxed? That seemed callous to us. (Callous – being insensitive, heartless, cold, harsh, very cruel)

Contd...

# Me, My Guru, dreamer, sadhan getting boring, expectations and conditions, desires and their fulfillment, situations don't make or break us, disturbing emotions, calmness, beingness, stillness,

read related posts too https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=Worm+and+the+elephant+

Points to ponder:

"Today, everyone seemed restless as I entered the class. And I had thought I was the only one irritated today. " - We feel everyone is out there to get us when we are filled with fear. We feel the World is a beautiful place when we are joyous from within! It's the same people and the same World and yet, we find them to be different on two different occasions! The reason being our STATE OF MIND! Wouldn't it be easy and useful for us if and if only we worked on our state of mind to make our life easier and happier? Think about it!

"But, looking at everyone’s face, it was evident we all had brought our baggage of emotions of frustration, anger, and irritation to the class today." - Just read this statement as many times as possible! Be with it for a couple of minutes. Go through your past events and your state of mind! Wherever we go, we carry our baggage of emotions with us. And WE DUMP it on the places and people we encounter in our lives. And to think and say that a certain place or person is negative, well is it justified? Every time you meet someone look at the baggage you are carrying and dumping on to that person! Be aware of what you give and then you'll realize why you receive what you receive!!!

"And the person who was our ‘dumping ground’ – our Guru was sitting adjusting her saree (an attire worn by traditional Indian women). She must be humming some sweet melody, I presumed. " - Similar to this situation, it is possible that people dump their negativity on us sometimes in our lives too! But look at that Guru! She is calm and composed even though their energy is so negative! That state is a possibility! Our sadhan should be to reach that state! Our sadhan should be a practice on developing that attitude! Our sadhan should be "to be calm and blissful inspite of circumstances". That is the ONLY PURPOSE OF SADHAN!

"I mean where was that smile coming from otherwise? She seemed oblivious to our woes. She was in the middle of and centre of our negativity and yet remained calm, poised, smiling and gentle in her conduct. How? " - People will be what they are! YOU LIVE AND SHOW WHAT YOU ARE! DON'T let others behaviour DECIDE yours!

Look at the last para where Guru is considered to be callous. Is it true? If yes, why? If no, why? This is exactly how we name others. This is exactly how we judge others!

Reiki Meet - 28-06-2009

Reiki Meet

Today was one more special day. Our Reiki Meet at Gandhinagar, Hyderabad went off really well thanks to each one of your participation. (I am thanking those who had come..). Yes, Mona (Madhumitha) many missed you and we wish you happiness and success in your chosen career. Your mother and sister brought your presence with them. So, actually we didn’t miss you. And yes, thanks for the Reiki sent.

Few of the channels left the premises midway which made the purpose seem lost. What is the purpose of this meet? It’s not some function at home where just giving attendance as a formality is a must. And hence, out of compulsion, we go and stay for few minutes to hours depending on our convenience and leave immediately after. Is reiki meet a compulsion? Did some of you turn our out of fear or some other feeling or emotion – anything except love to share reiki knowledge and to bond with other reiki channels? If it is so, I am sorry, I created a reason for you to feel compelled.

But, it was not for anyone who felt the meet was forced on them. It was exclusively only for such of reiki channels who wished that they spend some time in healing, relaxing and who wished to be infected with the commitment and enthusiasm of fellow reiki channels in pursuing sadhan and thereby healing themselves and their lives.

Reg. reiki meet sms was sent to all. It was posted in blog. Still many didn’t contact for a mere reason that they expected me to extend the invitation personally. I am sorry to say the truth but it is – the loss is entirely theirs. If we let our ego decide our self esteem/ prestige, we are bound to lose out on various experiences and reiki meet – that too of 150 wonderful reiki channels is a very rare and a beautiful occasion and an experience that can’t be relived or imagined.

I forgot to thank Manjusha chittoor. She is the one who opened the blog for me and helped me become blog friendly. I really bothered her a lot those 2-3 days when we had to start the blog. Thank you manjusha. Everytime, some one says they benefited from blog, I transfer the thanks to you. And those of you who attended the meet had seen her and also listen her speak.

At the start of internal journey, it’s common to find oneself being bored/disillusioned with sadhan out of sheer happiness which comes of everything going smooth and as per plan. That time, many are bound to come out with statements “I don’t get time to do sadhan”, “how many more years do I keep doing reiki”, “is reiki all that is to do?” and the list is endless. But the bottom line is sadhan is thrown out of window once things fall in place in anyone’s life.

Second reason can be – we become so accustomed to draw symbols and see it work for us that it is difficult to take a situation that doesn’t mend to our demand even after doing reiki for a certain period of time. Then the first statement that comes to me is “what is the use of sadhan? Anyhow it doesn’t work.”
“I did reiki but still I did not get this”. One wish that doesn’t seem to be fulfilled only looms large in front of us. 99 other wishes that have been fulfilled don’t seem large enough now. But at that time, I felt on top of the world when it happened with me. Right? Because we tend to lose patience the last lap, we miss the chance of life time. And we also lose reiki from our life. Double punishment for one single stupidity of ours.

So, in reiki meets when we listen to others experiences we log on to our own memories of reiki miracles and understand how reiki has been always with me. Then it is a possibility I log on to reiki once more to enrich myself and my life. This is the biggest gift one can give oneself.

Always remember “sat karmon se sat sang bhala” - that means it’s better to be in right and good company that be doing good work. Lord Buddha used to say “always go in a group of five for bhiksha. That way any day, that group’s energies will be balance. High energies of A and B and low of C and ok of D and E is balanced by A and B passing on their enthusiasm and belief to C and the next day the table can be reversed and still the group balance would be same. Then it is easy for a sadhak to be in sadhan and then to outgrow his limitations.” That is exactly why I recommend reiki groups in every area/locality. Be in touch with other reiki channels in/around your area. Meet for only 2-3 hours / month. It’ll be a great booster to all such people. I can show the way, to walk on it is totally your choice. Right friends?

Thank you all once again for making this meet an enriching healing session. Photos will be posted in a day or two.

On changing destiny – Me, My Guru

On changing destiny – Me, My Guru

Contd..............

If you have a difficult relationship, then sit back and relax. Close your eyes and meditate on the type of relationship and the qualities that are predominant in that relationship. For example, if you are the ‘good type’ – meaning one who doesn’t assert yourself or one ready to please all, then you will have a ‘dominating personality’ as a ‘difficult person’ in your life. But the question is, is this the only person who is so in your life? Think about it! You’ll be surprised to notice that this type of person has been there always in your life – be it a parent/sibling/friend/teacher et like. And it doesn’t stop now
too.....you’ll meet the same type – only the person changes but the type being same again and again in your life – be it your boss/colleague/neighbour/ second spouse/children and who not till you learn to break this pattern and that is possible only by changing yourself as a person. There is no other shortcut to heal this. So, instead of running away from this present situation and person heal and learn to grow as a person. Develop the attitude that you lack. Then you’ll break not only this ‘painful person’s effect’ in your life but also all the persons you are to meet of similar types in your life in future.
But it would take ages maam! True...so you can choose an easier route..go on a ‘depression drive’ collect as much sympathy as you want from your ‘so called well-wishers’ and listen to as many as ‘I told you so’ from all such good people (who actually were most of the time who had given the same treatment to you some time back in your life!) and wallow in self-pity!!!

Remember ‘Rome was not built in a Day’. So, have patience and be in regular sadhan. Doing sadhan for 1/2an hour and crying for 23 hrs – well how do you think it would work? Do simple maths here! A tap fills the bucket in 20 mts but there are 20 holes in that bucket, now how long it takes to fill that bucket? Same way, if your sadhan and your expectation from your sadhan....increase your sadhan and decrease your negativity........your sadhan should be for 23hrs and negativity for 1/2an hour then the things will work.....

Work on yourself too as you work on the relationship. These both ways of healing gives faster results and better ones too. Not only that, since you have changed, you’ll find a sea change in all your other relationships too!”
