Me, My Guru – On payments to people in the Occult field

Me, My Guru – On payments to people in the Occult field

That rich man was offended. He said, “But sir, how can you charge such an exorbitant rate for just 30 seconds of your work?”

Pablo Picasso smiled and gently answered “No Sir. This is not my payment for my 30 seconds of job. It is my 30 years of practice that I am charging you for. I am charging you for my time of 30 years. During those years I had to practice hard and that hard work has resulted in me drawing your portrait in 30 seconds”.

When our Guru stopped and looked at us, we felt ashamed. https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/2009/08/on-wealth.html

We were judging others for their time of labour.

And yet, when we asked for our salaries and raise, we talked about how much time we have contributed to the firm.

We never saw it that way with others’ job.

Because, if we did we would’ve to be sincere and pay accordingly. And that would be way beyond the ‘fees’ that we were paying. Not only that we were even condescending while paying these people. And maybe that’s why our clients, bosses or offices fave our payments with words like “you don’t deserve it” or so!

January 30th 24

January  30th 24

Depending on the mental make-up, mental strength, clarity of thought, emotional strength and vision – each one makes a choice and lives with the consequence of such a choice.

Instead of being self-conscious, guilty, afraid of taking a decision or making a choice, let’s do what we feel right in a given circumstance.

Either way we have to face the music. Let’s do Reiki for the same and move on.

Let’s learn not to defend our actions!

Let’s be a MAN and own it up. At the same time, don’t be proud of your flaws and choices. Let’s just be!

Accept but also learn – how to make a better decision that could make a little less dent – for future reference- that way we grow!

Now, coming to “Gandhiji, let’s not forget the ‘greatest benefit’ he gave us – our freedom and that too without any bloodshed – Unique in the entire world and totally resonating with our scriptures and Dharma.

NEVER forget the good a person has done to you in the wave of emotions when he does or says something unfavourable, undesirable or unpleasant to you. This is the greatest flaw that most people have. Work on it.

Law and dharma!

Law and dharma!

A restraint imposed by the state is “Law”.

A restraint imposed by self is “dharm”.

Sometimes, the state can impose restrain but not often.

We know how to break the Law. That’s why despite breaking many laws people remain free. That is not justice. The law can be broken. But justice is meted by ‘self’ on self. It is governed by the human heart aka consciousness. It operates from within. That is the reason, even when God or Guru forgives your sins or wrongdoings, your Central Nervous System doesn’t – even when you are ‘adamant’ enough to say “I know I am right” or “no one can find fault with me and my actions because of XYZ reasons”.

Only in a society where most of the people are governed by self-restraint, Dharma resides. There, the society and government are just and where most of the people don’t have self-restraint, there society and government are in a state of anarchy! So true!

What a beautiful Idea!

What a complete concept!

What a wonderful World that would be!

Jai ho for that being the way of life in the “Olden days in India” and hence was called the Land of the Dharm where people’s character was pristine.

So, now that we know this, let’s stop blaming others, society, government, Time and fate for being bad. If you want to live in a ‘good and just society/family’ start it with self!

Let’s bring “dharm” into our lives.

Let’s be the change that we seek!

Let’s work towards building a flawless character!

Let’s work towards enshrining Ram within!

Let’s recreate Ram Rajya the right and complete way!

Let’s set an example to the World about what living in Dharm means!

Let's leave behind the World that is safe for our next generations to come!

Note: Those who are living abroad too fall under this ‘yagna’. For you represent “Bharat” to the people of the World out there. Represent it in all its glory by your acharan – conduct!

Points to ponder and questions answered:

  • What is "dharm"?
  • How to overcome the cycle of good and bad times?
  • How to build strength to face tough times in life?
  • What is that that protects the man who follows it at all times?
  • What is my contribution to Society?
  • In what best way can I contribute to the Society?
  • As long as one is fearful, one can't follow Dharm. When one follows Dharm, there is no 'fear'.

  • Wherever life has stationed you (as per your karma), just be there with all humility.
  • Do your job - even as simple as cleaning your home, with all honesty, sincerity, joy and commitment. That would be living in dharm at that point of time.
  • Whatever you do, with whomsoever you live/interact, do it with the utmost kindness, respect, humility, dignity, honesty, joy and integrity of character.
  • Come back to your centre as many times as possible per day. Bring peace within and in the place of your residence with your mere presence. That also would be putting dharm to practice.

Christmas 2023

Christmas 2023

Come Christmas all one can think about is cakes, carols and Christmas tree. But, is that all it is about?

All these acts of festivities are the body of the Christmas. But what about the spirit of the festival?

And did you know that Christ was not born in December? December 25th was celebrated to celebrate the winter solstice and to celebrate the birth of the Sun God. Later when Roman empire got baptized it changed this day when days would start getting longer as the “birth day of Jesus”. So, you see, a tradition doesn’t necessarily reveal or reflect the “Truth” after all! And to think, we fight all wars in the name of religion and traditions? Think about that!

To get to know the spirit of any religion or tradition we need to look into the person who started it. Know his spirit and find out what are the characters that shaped his essence. Jesus was driven by character traits of – forgiveness, being sensitive to the poor and needy, belief in the Almighty and working as an instrument to fulfill the command/desire of the Divine. He didn’t have any personal agenda to cater to. He forgave even the people who nailed him to death. His heart bled for the suffering and he would do anything to alleviate them of their suffering.

Now, when we eat the cake, are we also looking at these qualities that define Jesus? Are we invoking the Christ within us? Only if we do, is the real celebration of Christmas. It doesn’t matter which religion you follow. It doesn’t even matter with which name you refer to your God. But, Rigveda says “Aano bhadro krtavo yantu viswatah” meaning “Let noble thoughts come to me from all directions” – This is a Vedic Mantra from Rigveda 1:89. 1. So let’s live our Seer’s desire to receive good from all directions.

And is not forgiveness, working for the downtrodden, and being instrument of the Lord basis of our Sanatan Dharma?

May be we can’t imbibe all these qualities in toto in our lives, but we can have them as our road map. We can work towards them, one step at a time. And as Reiki Sadhak’s we have our techniques to develop these qualities. So this Christmas, let’s do them.

Let’s do charity – at least to one person (not to your maid or driver). Let’s do it to someone unknown to us – even just one packet of food (even fruits will do if you can’t cook). If you have a kid at home, let it be done through their hands. Let’s teach them young the concept of sharing with the needy.

You can also give your old clothes to the street children.

Now with the winter that is killing many, donate at least old blanket to one person.

All the suggested options are doable by one and all. I am not asking you to do it in lakhs. So everyone can do this! If you are on facebook/social media site, post your pic donating and start a “Share to care challenge” or "Christmas spirit challenge" . Ask others to do the same and ask them to post their pics too….this way each one doing charity even to one person we can make a huge difference in real time.

Meditate on “surrendering to Reiki/God” one minute a day.

Kuch alag karthe hai, is saal….let’s do something different this year – let’s bring home Christ this year!!!

On Deepavali – On reviving the Rama within and killing Ravana within

On Deepavali – On reviving the Rama within and killing Ravana within

Be it Hindu pandits killed in Kashmir, Pakistan, Bangladesh or muslims killed during riots elsewhere. It also is Jews executed in thousands during World War II or lynching of Christians at certain places in the name of “witch hunting”. It is also Africans tortured in America as slaves and Buddhists fleeing away from Tibet. There is no end to this hatred and killings unless the asura within is put to sleep. He has to be transformed into a deva. For that we need to transform our asuric qualities into daivic (divine qualities) – little by little every single day.

Let’s work to kill or do away with one head of Raavan representing one negative quality in us this Deepavali. Let’s make way for Rama within us to express himself. Only then “Dharma” can be established in this World and only then can be expect world order to be in place!

Me, my guru – on choosing love over hate!

Me, my guru – on choosing love over hate!

After listening to his woes and story, his Guru told him “His karma will catch with him sooner or later. Why do you want to waste your life fighting for justice? Let it go. You start your business again and put all your energy into that. My blessings are there with you for your prosperity”.

Our hero was sad but accepted his Guru’s words and decided against filing any case. His children shouted and were angry. Their one good quality in them was they respected their father a lot and never did anything against him or his wish. They did not accept his decision, yet, they kept silent and started their business.

Slowly and steadily their business expanded. So did their confidence, self-esteem, and enthusiasm. They increased their hard work and found results dear to them. They grew from strength to strength.

In the meantime, their elder brother started losing quite a few of his clients. In just 5 years our hero’s business was double the size he had left behind to his elder brother.

His sons and their families too were happy seeing this prosperity. They all went to his Guru’s place to show gratitude and showered her with lots of gifts. Our hero considered his growth to be the work of his Guru’s blessing. But his Guru smiled to denied to accept the responsibility for his growth. She simply said “If you had walked the path of anger, justice, vengeance and destruction no amount of my blessings would have worked out to your benefit. Because you chose the path of love over hatred, creation over destruction, forgiveness over revenge and dharm over adharm, you prospered! Always invest your valuable time and hard work in creating and blessing – not on destruction and curses”.

This was a simple real-life story. Yet, it was powerful. Now, the question was – where are we to put it to good use?

Post pointers:

"In the meantime, their elder brother started losing quite a few of his clients. In just 5 years our hero’s business was double the size he had left behind to his elder brother.- This happened in this person's life. But don't come saying "but maam, how come my mil/sil/enemy are happy and prosperous though they are bad?" Don't expect others to suffer though they have hurt you....then you are generating negative energy and that is what will flow in your life.

Isn't it odd that we want justice and people who hurt us to suffer but when we face our karma, we seek forgiveness?

We are angry that our Guru/God hasn't forgiven us inspite asking(or demanding) it and then go around waiting for people to suffer because we were hurt by them?

Let go of them and instead concentrate on building your life. That's what this means. Put your energy there and then your life will turn out right...

"She simply said “If you had walked the path of anger, justice, vengeance and destruction no amount of my blessings would have worked out to your benefit." - Always know this...even blessing from a Saint or God will work only when you are putting it for good use. Remember Ravana got blessings and sanidhya (closeness) to the Ultimate in the Universe - Lord Shiva and yet, he lost to a mortal and monkeys. That doesn't mean Shiva and his blessings are waste. No, it means God also helps only those who are on the side of Dharma.

Me, my guru – on persistence to do right!

Me, my guru – on persistence to do right!

“Guruji, why do you keep repeatedly saying the same thing over and over again? People are not going to understand. They are adamant” said Rahul to which Aziz added “No, they are stupid,” said Aziz.

Rahul smiled, nodded, and continued “They won’t take what you want to offer them,” said Rahul with lots of pain. He was one such rare student who didn’t come seeking or demanding anything from our Guru. For him just coming to ‘this place was enough of a return. He never talked or complained about his life. All his pain and suffering were centered around our Guru. He felt bad that others didn’t understand her teachings.  He was angry that they didn’t even try applying them. He was frustrated that our Guru didn’t receive her worth, whether in kind or in cash. He was disappointed that she wasn’t valued enough. These really were a rare kind.

I knew their pain, yet I never crossed the line that separated them from me – like all other students.

Questions answered:

  • What is the benefit of giving 100% to our job?
  • Why give more to our job when we are not paid enough or appreciated enough?
  • Ask yourself one question "How do you feel when others don't perform well in their jobs (those that relate with you)?"
  • Now ask the next question "So, I want others to give more than what I pay them but when it comes to myself I will follow different values?"
Points to be noticed:
  • We are adept at judging others and their way of working - if yes, therein lies the bottleneck that stops us from expressing our potential to the fullest!
  • The ones who are successful, happy, peaceful, and living 'right' are the ones who give 100% to every job that they undertake or they are assigned - irrespective of what they get in return.
  • Every time we practice 'excellence' we are building our strength in character.
  • The purpose of every act in our life is to help us express ourselves the way we want to be. The purpose of every situation in our life is to let us develop greater character.
  • More strong the character, the more is our strength. more is our strength less is our fear!

Deepavali – The festival of lights – 2022

Deepavali – The festival of lights – 2022

This festival is considered a celebration of Rama’s victory over asura – Ravana. This festival is celebrated as a victory of Good over evil. This is a reminder to one and all that however powerful, able, rich might be the evil, bad or a lie, it always loses to Truth. Truth prevails – always!

This isn’t a story of just Rama and Ravana. This isn’t a story that’s over. This is story of each one of us. There is Rama in each one of us. There is Ravana in each one of us. Rama represents ‘the path of Dharma’. Ravana represents ‘our lust, ego, greed, arrogance, vanity, ignorance’ – in short everything and all of our weaknesses. However big may our weakness grow, however justified may be the acts of ego, yet in the end only Dharma prevails.

This Deepavali, let’s light up our inner Rama. Let’s vow to work on killing our Ravana within. Let’s kill one ‘head of Ravana’ – each representing one of our weakness – each single day of our life. This Deepavali, let’s burn our ego and its related nature within us. Let’s burn asura within us and let Rama within us express himself! Let’s bring ‘Ramarajya’ – the right way!

Reflections – on washing clothes

Reflections – on washing clothes

Let’s use this example to understand this point better. Any way, they – the clothes are washed it wouldn’t harm anybody. And yet if washed in the ‘right order’ would put the working wheel in order. It would’ve gone seamlessly in a better way! I can hear some of you say “but ma’am, it is so simple and irrelevant, why are you giving so much of importance to it?”

Yes, it is a very mundane routine. And yet it reflects all this in one go – our clarity of thought, effortless way of doing things, mind that is de-cluttered and calmness – if done the best way! That a simple act can give away so much about us is alarming – isn’t it? Now, if it was just an act, then I wouldn’t bother much. But his act reflects ‘our state of mind’ and also our attitude of doing our job. This also shows that I am not present ‘in the moment’ while doing this job. One who thinks ‘chaltha hai’ – (take it easy) while doing small acts would also do bigger acts the same way. That reflects our carelessness towards our work. It also says we are not ‘present’ 100% in the job at hand. That means, we take our work for granted. That shows we are not giving 100% to our job. We are ‘stealing’ literally from our job. Surprised? Yes, we are not giving 100% of our potential to the job at hand reflects our character that doesn’t give its best to every work done. And yet, how many of us complained “but maam, my company doesn’t’ pay salary my worth?”

Honesty in work!

Honesty in work!

Most of the people do their job well when paid well....or at least try to or pretend to....

But the few, very few are those gem of characters who give their 100% even in the job that is under-paid. They give their 100% and more if possible even if it is not paid. They not only give their self to the job, they do with 'love and gratitude' for the job on hand. They don't need to be told that they have to do it well - they do! They don't have to be assigned responsibilities, they take it upon themselves happily on their own....These are the 'karma yogis'. These are the people you will find to be happy, cheerful, grateful and support to others. These are the ones who hardly complain about work or others in work. These are the contended lot. These are the men of character! These are the ones who addressed work the right way!

Their needs are fulfilled by doing their jobs right!

They are the people who may not know what 'Dharm' is but know how to live it!

If you happen to know any one like this, appreciate them both verbally and through some material gift. Let them know what a wonderful person they are! Tell such people their worth while they are still alive!

Don't wait to say those words in their 'shraddanjali'.....

On greatness!

On greatness!

Guru Nanak is one of the greatest Gurus that this punya bhoomi (Sanctified land - India is called and is the Sanctified land which has produced the greatest number of Saints, Enlightened Beings, Pure souls, Divine Incarnations at all times...).

Guru Nanakji or for that matter any Guru or Great being, is not born into greatness. Their everyday 'choices' slowly and steadily shape them into what they end up being. Their struggles and sufferings are used by them to express their character of 'Greatness' every single time! And lo! the world notices them to be 'Great' one fine day!

But nothing happens over night! They get up with every fall. They choose 'right' over 'pleasant' every time. They over come their temptations every day. This strengthens their character - the result is for the world to see! An exemplary personality that came out of an ordinary person born and grown in an ordinary situations and circumstances.

They don't work towards being 'great'. They just keep doing the 'right thing' - choose 'dharma' over 'but every does no maam' excuse and 'greatness' comes to them unasked!

Sit back, look within, assess your choices and state of mind - what stops you from walking their path?

don't justify your reasons - find ways to break those reasons.....you could be the next 'great son of India' that the World looks up to tomorrow........

Aim high, work non-stop - goal is reachable!

That is the purpose of 'Celebrating the Jayanthi' - not just to wish each other, eat sweets, wear new clothes...think again.....

sadhan on request!

sadhan on request!

For those who requested for next sadhan...here's one for you all!

Just for Today let's do 'earth healing' from 10pm-10.30pm. Those who can't at that time, do at any time convenient to you....

Next, make a list of people whom you love and have lost to time - it can be both family and friends, if you want to add you can add social figures too in that - like some artist you is dead and you are fan of, some social worker you are inspired by and so on....

Let's do soul healing for all these people  from tomorrow onwards for 14 days....

From tomorrow, chant atleast one mala MM Japam and send reiki to all those people.....

those who are already in the previous sadhan, just continue the same but with this intention....(you can count these 14 malas also in  your count of 108 - so don't bother much on that...)

your every desire (genuine and as per dharma - the one filled with lust and greed are not in this category) makes me go within and search for an answer to fit into your sadhan and life agenda...here's one on those grounds....

this way those who are still in previous sadhan (of completing 108 malas) and those wanting a new target - both can work together in this project without having to lose anything by either of them.....

i hope both the parties are ok with it and find it convenient to them.....

Me, My Guru – On doing good!

Contd....

Me, My Guru – On doing good!

Reiki and Universe gives us indicators and are to work on – always! But we choose not to understand it and apply it. It was easier for us to sit back and throw blame on our laziness, mother-in-law, kid or spouse, pandemic and others.

We shared our views with our Guru later in the day and all she said was “Your choice reflects the level of your consciousness. Don’t worry. Keep working on yourself. Keep in sadhan. As we heal ourselves of asuric nature our ‘soul connect’ becomes stronger. As it strengthens our desire to work on ourselves will become stronger and immediate. It is all part of the process. All we can do is ‘keep going’. Avoid self-pity, guilt or being ashamed of your slips in this path. You’ll be in sadhan for few days and then stop. You’ll develop clarity of though (in bits and pieces) and then fall into depression. It will be a topsy-turvy ride. Fall seven times, but get up eight times!!! I am here to judge you on your ‘seven falls’ but also feel ‘proud of you getting up eight times’. So relax and keep moving. Take others along with you. That’ll make this journey bearable if not easy!”

Her explanation was so simple. It was so full of love. I think love is no love if there is no patience in it. Instead of admiring her for having these qualities we need to be inspired by her. Only then would we dare to dream to develop these traits in ourselves.

Goal set! Mission started! The rest, I leave it to her!

We left her place in peace – again! Once more!

Concluded........
