Me, my Guru – on why God doesn’t come to my rescue

Me, my Guru – on why God doesn’t come to my rescue

If you are adamant that the other should suffer or accept that he is bad/wrong/guilty or that you wouldn’t let go and forgive the other for what did or for what he is, then it would be ‘death of relationship’ sooner than later.

Again, I repeat don’t use right law in wrong place and suffer with the results.

Heal to develop patience, clarity of thought, faith in process and reiki, discipline to be in sadhan, honesty at least with self and above all purity of intent!

Any more complaints regarding God?” she asked.

She left having got ‘no’ for an answer.

I’ve heard on this many times and yet found ‘wanting improvement’ in so many areas even now. That I was ashamed of! But what was the good coming of it if by next time I hadn’t worked on at least few of these points. Today, I realized she had to deal and address the issue from so many angels not because she lacked knowledge or subject on which she could throw light but because we weren’t done with ‘these mundane’ acts and faults in the first place...

And today I found one more thing...though she talked on the same subject she addressed it from different angle each time – like cause, effect, healing aspects etc etc. Every subject was vast and had layers to it and she was peeling it one after the other for us, but we in our arrogance and ignorance thought it to be repetitive....the more we knew on a subject or emotion the more we had doubts and so our journey continued still in this area only...

Wonder how it would be to be on the other side .....

Me, my Guru – on why God doesn’t come to my rescue

Contd.....

Me, my Guru – on why God doesn’t come to my rescue

But God/Reiki/guru/Nature gives warning to all! Only some listen! Inspite of it, next suggestion to correct the wrong is sent again and again which is heeded by only handful.

Then situations are made or become unbearable and still chance is give to one and all to make good the loss. For example : Sage Markandeya who won over death, who trusted the process of sadhan and followed it with total faith, unquestioning dedication and purity of intent to overcome his ‘destiny’. It was so easy to fight/hate his parents for having asked a boon of ‘having a son who was pious but was short-lived’ but he didn’t. He didn’t sit to –

    ·        Wallow in self-pity
    ·         Be angry with his parents
    ·        Wished and hoped that if he had been told earlier instead of              at ‘nth’ hour he could’ve thought of a way
    ·       Curse his fate and wait for his end crying, complaining and               wasting the time.
    ·       Didn’t sit to dream for some ‘magic’ to save him.

He immediately set upon ‘doing’ what best he can do at that time with full faith and purity of intent and left the rest to Lord.

God listens to all that we say by way of prayers and all that we don’t too! And He sends ‘answers or help’ as required immediately too! It’s just that we don’t open our hands and hearts to receive both His Blessings and Him!

If you keep your windows and doors closed, you can’t complain that sunlight isn’t coming in.

If a story or saying is coming to you again and again, look for your answer there. Those are your ‘warning signals’ or ‘lifeboats’ that He is sending. Don’t send them away saying “Yes maam, I read it recently in whatsapp!”

In ‘helicopter’ especially during ‘saving mission’ you can’t carry all your valuable belongings. But if you don’t get into helicopter as you can’t ‘let go off’ your precious items, you’ll end up losing the ONLY THING THAT MATTERS – YOU. Know when to let go and what to!

Me, my Guru – on why God doesn’t come to my rescue

Krishna smiled and replied “first it was I who had the information regarding coming of flood broadcasted through radio. You did not heed my warning. Still I sent boatmen to save you and again you decided to decline my help. Finally I sent helicopter to save you and you still did not escape. And because of your adamant nature you died and even then I brought you here and yet you are complaining....!”

You’ve heard this story like a million times here. So, you tell me, what did you get from it?” she concluded with a smile.

“That it is a story worth hearing million times?” said Murali.

Everyone laughed.

“God sends help through various ways but we may reject it due to our ignorance”

“...or due to arrogance”

“Agreed...”

“Blind faith doesn’t serve our purpose. We should also understand his word that says “ask and it shall be given”. We should trusts that He responds to our call but we can’t believe the fact that He can work His Miracles through anyone and everyone. Can we trust Him on that?”

“His mercy, blessing, help or support may come through any means. We can’t receive it the way we demand it”.

“If we are sensible, we’ll listen to his ‘warning’ of impending danger. These are the people who left the village with most valuable belongings when they heard the warning over radio. If we are stupid then at least we’ll seek his help when things become dangerous. These are the people who took help from boatmen with their limited belongings.

Next category is the adamant, greedy and arrogant types who were standing on rooftops. They didn’t leave the village as some were arrogant enough to think they would be saved because of their bhaktha eg: priest, riches and power believing it to be more powerful to protect them against any calamity. Greedy ones were those who don’t leave as they don’t want their belongings to be lost and somehow are blinded by their greed into believing that the situation can’t be that bad as ‘fore-warned’.

Me, my Guru – on why God doesn’t come to my rescue

Me, my Guru – on why God doesn’t come to my rescue

Today, we flooded with oft repeated questions like “If God exists why doesn’t He save the world or come to its’ rescue?”

“How do I know He exists when I don’t receive any support from Him when I pray to Him?”

“My situation is same as ever. How do I know my prayer is answered by Him? Why doesn’t He do anything to save me from my ‘situation’ and set it right with just a flick of want?”

Each one gave his or her situation to support their anger, question and doubt. Our allegations seemed justified and she let us be. She waited till of us had poured out anger out and then when we had emptied ourselves and calmed a bit she started “In a certain village lived a Krishna Bhaktha who worked as a priest. He sang bhajans of Krishna all day long and strongly proclaimed to one and all that Krishna was his Lord and Saviour.

It so happened once that the village was in floods. It was announced over Radio that the village would be flooded within 24 hrs and all to evacuate immediately. Many people left the village and even asked Priest to accompany them but he denied saying “no need! My Krishna will come to save me”. Within few hours the water started rushing into the village and the army men came in boats to save the villagers who were still in the village. Many left and even this time Priest denied taking their help saying that he was waiting for Krishna to come and rescue him. By next day all the houses were flooded and the few people along with our dear Priest climbed the roof top to save themselves. Helicopters came to save them. All left except our believer Priest who waited for Krishna. Next day he died. In heaven he met Krishna and immediately started shouting at him “how can you kill me when I trusted you so much?”

The woodcutter and the parrot

The woodcutter and the parrot

In a certain forest lived a woodcutter all alone in his hut. He would cut the wood in the forest daily, sell it, eat his food and sleep. His life was a simple routine. One day he found a wounded parrot in the forest path. He felt bad for the parrot. He brought it home, tended it and fed it. Overtime, the parrot regained its health. The woodcutter put the parrot in the beautiful cage that he made especially for it. Daily after days chores, parrot and woodcutter would spend hours talking to each other. Parrot was happy it was treated well but it also longed to fly high in the sky like other birds. One day, the woodcutter forgot to shut the door of the cage. The parrot seized the opportunity and flew away.

The woodcutter came home to an empty house. He was saddened to death. He felt angry, cheated, and lonely. Days passed. He kept missing the parrot. One day, after having lunch we slept under the tree. When he got up, he found the parrot in front of him. They both were happy to see each other. They spent hours talking to each other.

The woodcutter did not ask or put the parrot in the cage and the parrot too did not fly away. They lived together enjoying each other’s company for years to come.

What does this story talk about?
What does cage represent?
How are we to apply it in our lives?

(As most of you are complaining of not being able to understand the stories written, i've come up with questions for you to answer..that way i hope you'll know which way to think..hope it is useful...)

on pain and fear.....

Our pain and fear are helpless in stopping time..

Me, My Guru - On honesty!

Contd......

Me, My Guru - On honesty!

“Nothing” she said smiling “not every character stands for something as you suppose.  Neither do those kids mean anything! What the story has to offer is somewhere else and you are looking at unimportant aspects of that story”.

Now we were confused for sure!

“Oh, we know this is just about being honest” came a voice from behind.

“Well, sort of yes and no. It is about honesty but that’s not all! We all want to run our lives our way. That is we want to rule ‘our world’ – short we want to be kings of our ‘little kingdoms’ and yet are always crying and complaining as to why we don’t get to sit on that ‘coveted throne’ and rule our lives – the way we want to. How come someone else does that and we lose out on that chance – every single time?” she continued. “But we forget the basis of eligibility to that kingship is ‘Honesty’ – the basic attitude that we compromise on and we miss out on our understanding of the Universal Law that “We get what we give”. How can we expect honesty and trust from others if we are not honest? Apply it everywhere and you’ll see the pattern come alive that explains the basis or basic cause of our suffering.

If you want love, GIVE LOVE

If you want respect, GIVE RESPECT

If you want happiness, GIVE HAPPPINESS

If you want understanding, GIVE UNDERSTANDING

And if you cheat, YOU GET CHEATING AND CHEATED

If you manipulate, YOU’LL BE MANIPULATED

If you give hatred YOU GET HATRED

If you are selfish YOU’LL MEET SELFISH PEOPLE etc....

Each one gets what one gives. Each is ‘eligible’ to his ‘kingdom’ the one he has ‘generated’.

We all desire to be ‘kings’ enjoying abundance of power, material benefits and comforts but forgot that we sit on the throne that we generate on. Whether it is one of thorns or of petals depends on us and our attitude and character”.

She left us for good.

Honestly this was not the first time she talked about this but yet ‘kingdom’ part thrown in this time made it more impactful. We each applied it to areas where our suffering came from and this we, at least me got a peep into the reason for my suffering, I understood why I got what I got, why I lived with people I do and lead the life the way I do. Trust me, it wasn’t anything good. We each had to do lots of thinking and so stopped talking for now and went silent – at least for sometime.....

Me, My Guru - On honesty!

contd....

Me, My Guru - On honesty!

Everyone was aghast. How could king choose a boy who couldn’t even grow or take good care of a simple seed? When asked, king explained “I gave burnt seeds to all kids. No child was to come with a plant that way but everyone did – except this boy. He didn’t cheat! He was honest! How can a person who can’t be honest in such a simple test be expected to be honest while running such a huge kingdom?

Only if a king is honest will he be trusted by his subjects,

Only where there is trust will people not act out of fear and hence be honest,

Where there is no fear, there people will dream,

Where there is dream, will there be hope,

Where there is hope, will there be faith,

Where there is faith there is courage,

Where there is courage there is love,

And where there is love, happiness and peace is!

And I want my kingdom with prosperous, peaceful and happy people!” so saying our Guru left us.

“Exactly! We are suffering because of our corrupt politicians” shouted few of us.

“You really think, after so many years of being her students that she would sit here to judge our politicians and waste our whole day for that. She knows our TV channels are adept at handling that job. She would be least bit interested in that” said Rahul.

Each gave one angle of perception and it sort of boiled down to this “Honesty is the best policy”. And that didn’t seem to have many takers amongst us. I mean we wanted to be honest but then people in our life didn’t deserve that! Who could survive in this word by being honest? I mean we bent rules as it was a must – not because we wanted to. We were forced by circumstances to be who we are.....

She came and joined us and someone asked her “but Guruji what has king got to do with honesty story? What does his character represent?”

Me, My Guru - On honesty!

Me, My Guru - On honesty!

At the end of the year, every child had a healthy beautiful plant to flaunt – all except our dear Bholu. He cried, he prayed yet his seed did not respond. He was tempted to plant some other seed but his mother advised against it. It was a good year for all except our dear Bholu. And then, the D day arrived. Bholu didn’t want to go as he knew he would be embarrassed but his mother forced him to.

He went and stood in a corner hoping no one would notice him or his plant or rather no plant.

At the dreaded moment, the king arrived. “Our pain and fear are helpless in stopping time”. King congratulated each and every kid on his plant. It was then that few kids noticed Bholu and started making fun of him. Noticing the commotion, the king moved in that direction and saw tear filled face of Bholu holding an empty pot. He asked Bholu for reason and Bholu replied “I don’t know. I watered it daily and kept it in sunshine, yet no plant came out of it. I am sorry to have failed you!” The king hugged the boy and with tears filled eyes yelled “Meet the new king of this kingdom”.

Everyone was aghast. How could king choose a boy who couldn’t even grow or take good care of a simple seed? When asked, king explained “I gave burnt seeds to all kids. No child was to come with a plant that way but everyone did – except this boy. He didn’t cheat! He was honest! Me, My Guru - On honesty!

Me, My Guru - On honesty!

“Once upon a time, when it hardly mattered ‘when’ there was a king ruling a certain kingdom since certain period of time. Since he didn’t have any heir, his councilors and his subjects were worried a bit. Thinking about his issue, the king came upon an Idea. He had it declared “Our king would distribute seeds tomorrow at the palace. All the children desirous of becoming king can come and taken one of those seeds. At the end of the year, the yield of each child would be verified and the one with best yield will become the king”.

Hearing the announcement all parents forced their children to participate in this ‘competition’. Now in this city was a very poor boy named ‘Bholu’ who too was eager to become a king and give his mother and sisters a good life.

At the appointed time all the children assembled at the palace. The king personally met and gave one seed to each and every kid who had come for the same. The date on which children were to come back with their plant was announced. Everyone left the palace happy and excited. His courtiers and his subject were confused as to how he would select ‘the king’ with this act. The king didn’t disclose his thought or idea to anyone.

Days passed and nothing happened to Bholu’s seed. It didn’t sprout. He looked at others plants. They had sprouted and looked good. His mother encouraged him to do the needful and then let the seed decide when to grow. Weeks passed. Yet nothing happened. Bholu watered the plant regularly. He gave it enough sunlight and yet...other kinds showed off their plants. They were growing good. Bholu was saddened but he didn’t lose hope. He kept up is work and yet even when weeks turned to months, nothing happened.

Love is overrated in its verbal usage and underrated in its lived.....

Stories and all! The daughter!

Stories and all! The daughter!

Contd....

Now cold coffee didn’t bother him. In fact, he preferred it that way because it was harmless if she ever hit it and if it fell on her. He left home with a smile. He would think of playing with her in the evening as he walked towards bus-stop. The dog was busy chewing a bone that it got lucky with. He didn’t even look at dog. He didn’t think about it. And the dog too was lost to him. It found its heaven in its bone. Time passed thus. Now dog would be busy elsewhere and didn’t seem to notice him. He was no longer disturbed by its presence.

And then one day his colleague offered his flat on rent to him. It was just couple of blocks from his office. He wouldn’t’ require any more of transportation then. No more jostling in public transport for him. He could even save on that. Moreover, he could go home for lunch. More time with his princess and hot, homemade food for him.  Even in the evening, it meant he went home 2hrs early. He couldn’t resist the offer. He grabbed it. His family too was happy with this arrangement.

He no longer had to face ‘the dog’ any more. The dog was its usual self though. It found someone to shout and bark at. It still kept running after the vehicles. Its life and activities were just the same. Only the person at the receiving end changed.

But to ‘the man’ his whole world turned upside down. Now, only emotions that he felt were happiness, joy, affection and love. Now he would listen to others woes and complaints and counsel them. He was loved by all as he loved and spread love to all! He
smiled when things went wrong. He was calm and relaxed and that found him new found respect from all! He was showered with praise and appreciation as he helped others fulfill their dreams.
He was content. He thanked his stars for gifting him with his daughter. And he found his peace and contentment in that gratitude. He went on to spread cheer all around him and, and the dog, well it led its usual life.........

Stories and all! The daughter!

Stories and all! The daughter!

This is the story of a man in a certain city. He was always unhappy and hence irritated. Maybe, it was the other way, but I guess no one could say which was true! And so he spent his days in misery and cursing his fate. Everyone except him seemed happy around him. That increased his pain more.
But he lived on. Every morn he had something or the other to irritate him. Once it was that his coffee was cold or was spilled on him. Sometimes he found his shirt wrinkled or its button lost. Or it could be that he kept receiving calls from some random numbers.

He left irritated from his place and he would find a dog on his way to bus-stop shouting non-stop at him. It even came very near him and barked its lungs out. It frightened him more than it irritated him. His office and colleagues were no better. At the end of the day he was more than just irritated and angry, he was frustrated to the core. His life seemed to be a ‘circle of pain and suffering’.

And then one day his life changed for better when he held a bundle of joy called ‘his daughter’ in his palms. He couldn’t help smiling and laughing. Oh God! She was so small and so beautiful! Just a
look at her and he felt blessed. He wanted no more in life or from
life. He felt arrived. She bought cheer in his life. His life and thoughts revolved around her. People saw him smiling often and his talk revolved around her and all found his voice cheerful and happy now.
