Me, My Guru - On valuing right!

Contd…..

Me, My Guru - On valuing right!

“No one knows what worst luck your bad luck has saved you from” she had said this like a million years. Now I understood it.
Here the bad luck for the woman being ‘having lost one of her son’s shoes’ and the worst luck was ‘losing the son forever’. A person with clarity of thought would thank his stars, Gurus, God or Reiki and an ignorant fool would cry for ‘shoe lost’. When this issue is heard of, read of or even discussed, one ends up seeing the futility of that woman’s cry and suffering. But be detached for a
moment and we realize it is the by-product of ignorance. The problem is not with the person but the ignorance that she carries. Yes, it is a bit difficult to separate the two but practice a bit and it comes effortlessly. Now what do we do with this knowledge? Nothing! We can’t do anything about it. The least we can do is make her aware of her ‘ignorance’. But the only person who can make something of all this is the one who is going through it. Yes, the person has to detach himself from the situation, be objective about it and then realize that his pain and suffering though real, the cause of it is baseless, then the person has to work on this ‘ignorance’ step by step. So, the first step would be see it, next accept it, then work on it to transform it and then finally to transcend it. When the ‘transcend’ milestone is reached and achieved, then everyone is happy always inspite of situations.
When situation no longer matters, it becomes good. Yes, it is a paradox. But that’s how Natures Law works. Either accept it now or later. But you’ll graduate from life finally only when you cross this threshold this way. Good or bad, this is the ONLY WAY! There is no separate way for anyone. All – literally everyone has to go through this!”
“Looks simple to you Guruji, but where do we start and what is the first step towards this end?”
“Follow the golden 3 rules.
Rule No.1: Stop using people and loving things.
Rule no. 2 : Love people and use things!”  and before our Guru could complete we all shouted  “Never interchange the above two rules”.

“Never interchange the above two rules” simply put says we ‘love things and use people’ and that is the basis cause of all our pain and suffering especially in relationships. Coming to think of it, it sounded true. If I loved person instead of thing, then….we all sat with eyes closed and peeped into our past actions to check our actions and intentions. The revelation gave us insight into our ‘trouble area’. Now to put our insight to good use…that was the difficult part which we had to address sooner than later….but for now I wanted to ‘love myself’ and ‘use time’ to be at peace with myself……..
