Me, My Guru
“Thank-you Guruji. You’ve made our life. We are ever
grateful to you. Just be with us always.”
These were the words that reached my ears as I
opened her gate. When I entered the hall, I saw Kiran and his wife taking leave
of our Guru. These words were so common. So many people said it – both to her
and in her absence. But today, I felt very happy and a bit emotional. I felt
that it was no ordinary feat to be so important a persons’ life. Yes stars and
public figures had huge fan following, but then it was different type of
adoration. Here, she earned it by bringing abundance in others lives – be it
physical well-being, emotional stability, financial betterment or a spiritual
upliftment. She bought about meaningful change in every life that she touched.
These thoughts were still loud in my mind when Kiran
left with his wife when I heard her voice “Adoration is supposed as love by
many. How naïve is a person to confuse himself with his abilities? Maya, your
games are so perfectly dangerous and beautifully clothed that we tend to think that
we are loved and will be missed by all! How stupid! We presume we are
indispensable in others life and hence blindly bound ourselves with such of
people whom we think can’t live without us! And that’s all – Goodbye freedom!
Wonderful are your games, dear mind of mine.”
There was no one except me today with her. Was she
talking to me or was she talking to herself. But, when she looked at me and
smiled, I knew she was talking to me. That was bit unsettling. How did she know
what I was thinking? Agreed it had happened so many times yet……even today it
unsettled me!
I collected myself and decided to benefit from this
‘alone moment’ and so immediately asked her “But everyone loves you Guruji.
Where is Maya or delusion here? Why do you think they were lying?”
“No, no. I am not saying that they were lying. But
what they were telling was not true” she replied.
“Is it not the same?” I asked confused.
