On facing our biggest foe/enemy

On facing our biggest foe/enemy

We all are good at recognising and branding our enemies.  These are our ‘enemies from outside’. We are comfortable dumping our anger, frustration, fear, judgement, fear and all that on these enemies.  We are ever ready to attack them. We find the energy to fight them. Because we think it is essential for our survival. Sometimes, these enemies are larger and bigger than us. Then, they are older to us in age, position or power. We may not be in a position to show our irritation, frustration, or anger to them – may be out of respect, fear or sheer helplessness. Yet, our anger is there within. So, are its’ related feelings? We do end up showing them in various ways if not explicit. We show it to people not related to the issue sometimes. We live our entire life harbouring enmity, and hatred on people who displeased us not knowing for once that the REAL ENEMY is the CAUSE OF THESE FEELINGS OF ANGER, HATRED AND LIKE.

And where does this REAL ENEMY reside?

But what about dealing with and facing our greatest enemy?

We hide from him almost always!  We don’t even know where he is. We don’t even recognise him as our enemy. And therein lies our greatest mistake and weakness. Unless we get to accept him as our opponent, our enemy, we’ll not get to fight him. We have to realize him as our biggest enemy first. And that is the most difficult task. Because this enemy is not outside for us to see. He is within us, camouflaged as ourselves. And the only means to see him is to look within!

Aap auron ki baat karthe hai

humne apnon ko aazmaya hai...

aap kaanton se daaman bachake chalthe hai

humne fhoolon se zakhm khaye hai...

आप औरों की बात करते हैं

हमने अपनों को आज़माया है....

आप काँटों से दामन बचाके हैं

हमने फूलों से ज़ख्म खाये हैं

you talk of others

I have tested mine.....

you protect yourself from thorns

I have been hurt by flowers....

On facing our biggest foe/enemy

On facing our biggest foe/enemy

Then, the next step after realizing he as our enemy is to fight him. And to do that we need to know where he stays and how he operates. And the only way to do this again is to meditate.

The majority can’t even come close to the first step. Of those who come only a few can survive or go about with the second step. Few of them are those courageous, sincere warriors to keep up this fight – year after year.

I can count such people on my one hand. People hardly can walk their path for a few months. A common reason is the weakness. The quality needed to walk this path is courage and honesty. Both are lacking in all!

Then comes the third stage after years of this fight when the sadhak gets to fight this enemy. All these years go only in getting to know. If you don’t see how he operates, how can you win over him?

When the time to fight comes, people lose out of boredom and disinterest. The deeper we go in this fight, the darker and more difficult becomes our fight. But every fight won (which may run for months or years too!) gives satisfaction, empowerment, bliss, and peace like never before. These qualities can’t be experienced otherwise. Many such jewels lay for us in this fight and yet we don’t fight! Leave alone winning we don’t even think of starting it. How sad is that!?

    Angulimaan, the Saint

    Contd…

    Angulimaan, the Saint
Yes, Angulimaan’s over the years with increased sadhan, single minded concentration and meditation techniques facing all the hardships as the way to repent and without remorse or resentment on the people who meted it attained “Enlightenment” eventually! He became great healer and thousands of people over time started flocking around him to get healed. Just visualize the graph of his growth. He was Devil Incarnate as a high way murderer and from there he goes on to become one of the greatest healers and an Enlightened Masters as per Buddhist Sutras. People who rebuked him, insulted and stoned him fell at his feet at a later day in dozens and scores to seek his blessings, healings and knowledge.
What better way to come around than this? Yes, the path is tough, long, lonely and painful. But, just look at the fruits and benefits at the end of it. But remember, if you are in sadhan so that the people who have resentment for or who have hurt you will come and fall at your feet, then my dear, you are not going to reach that station of your expectations at all. This is the major reason why people choose spirituality, to feel respected and having people fall at their feet. Sorry, this doesn’t work. No doubt, there are less people with right knowledge and right spiritual experience to fall back on and to function as right Guru.

Is there an easier path? Certainly so! One filled with hatred, revenge and killing or hurting the person who demeans us, hurts us or insults us. But is there growth for us or are we walking towards our downfall? Choice is yours. You are smart and intelligent enough to make ‘right choice’ for yourself. After all, you are answerable to none and you are the one facing consequences of your every choice!

    Fear

    Fear

Fear – How to benefit out of it?

Read on fear in previous posts to get clarity of thought on this subject and then continue reading this article "https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=fear

Now we all know the symptoms of fear. They are most commonly experienced as :
    Palpitations and perspiration
    Anxiety
    Knotty feeling in the stomach
    Loose motions
    Restlessness
    Insomnia
    Excessive thirst
    Anger
    Confusion, irritation, shouting etc
Weakness in knees, legs and unable to stand or walk
Heaviness in chest and chest region
Headache and feeling of head reeling
(did I miss any other symptom?)

These symptoms most of us have felt one time or the other and we can recognize them as so now!

But how do we address this feeling?

By facing the situation that brings out this feeling in us… Yes – only by facing the situation again and again will we be able to free ourselves from such fear. The one who heals to avoid a situation is working on ‘plastic surgery’ correction. The work is done but the root cause still exits. So instead face the fear. Yes, it is frightening and it sucks our energy completely from us.

    On facing our biggest foe/enemy

    On facing our biggest foe/enemy

Hundreds of Gurus have come and gone. Each of them has said only one thing “Fight this enemy. That is the only purpose of our life”. And yet we keep going as per our ‘intelligence’ with our twisted logic.

Remember, the bigger your enemy, the bigger your victory. The bigger your victory, the greater the hero you end up being! Choose your enemy with care!

Because you are spending all your energy abilities emotions fighting him, what’s the purpose of losing after all this fight with your enemy?

When you fight your inner demon, you never lose even when you lose. It is always a win-win situation. How can you lose to yourself? Think about it! This is some food for thought!

Reflections – On change and growth

Reflections – On change and growth

Sit with at least one of them. Understand it. Do the required healing. Because, if you don’t heal your past, then even in the future you’ll end up suffering a similar situation again – may be more this time!!

As sadhaks, that doesn’t make sense. I should be able to handle a situation better this time when it pops up in my life. Let’s prepare for it by healing ourselves from our past impressions.

Let’s work on our weaknesses. Let’s gain strength. So that, when the situation demands we are more strong facing it now than then.

You may well ask “but why at all should it come maam?”

A good and fair question indeed! But these things just don’t go away because I am uncomfortable with them. No dear, it doesn’t happen that way. They keep coming back – again and again till we learn to deal with them right, till we outgrow the fear of facing them, and till we stop generating karma that creates such situations in the first place!

      Points to ponder:

      • Change is inevitable. Suffering it or putting it to good use is the only option available to us!

      Questions to work on:
      • What are the changes in life that I was uncomfortable with in the past?
      • How did those changes affect me and my life in the later years?
      • Does change bring only pain? How many times did change bring joy in my life?
      • What does impermanence mean to you?

Me, my Guru – on ego!

      Contd....

Me, my Guru – on ego!

Our ego was in full swing and yet we went around assuming to be good people. And then we were angry at Guru, God and reiki saying “Why are we suffering inspite of being good?”

Now we understood our situations better. We received what we generated through our ego. Our selfishness, double-standards, anger and all that – how could they give us ‘good’ returns? We received what we gave!

Yet, we had miracles knock at our doors. We still had abundance and things going our way. Not because of whom we are – but purely because of Reiki’s grace. Our little sadhan brought in such huge returns. That is Guru’s and God’s grace. They gave way beyond what we deserved. Unfortunately, we didn’t’ even validate them!?

Rahul, Aziz and such people realized all this. And they received according to their understanding, behaviour, truthfulness, humility and acceptance of the fact that they were work in progress. They accepted they needed to be chiseled more and every single day and they sought our Guru’s grace to chisel them. And when she did that with words they felt grateful to her. They weren’t angry at her. That spoke about their level of consciousness. And so, they loved her, revered her and worshiped her.

It wasn’t what she was working for. She just came, saw, pointed and explained where we our flaws were and left. But the way her students treated her spoke about ‘who they were’ and ‘where they came from’. The way she was treated did not reflect who she was!

Not expecting from them expressed her egolessness.

Showing their gratitude, humility and respects reflected the area of ego they have cleared in themselves. Ego was at play everywhere. If only we knew where to see!!!

Each person behaves depending upon his level of consciousness. It represents his character. His behaviour reflects who he is. It did not depend on the other person or the situation he was facing. Know this and keep healing to realise it.....

What did  you take from this post?

How was this post useful to you?

Where do you think you can use it?

How will you benefit from this knowhow?

PS : Blog is written with your doubts, situations, emotions and crisis you are facing just now....Every blog post gives you clearly where the problem is, what problem is, what you are seeing and how you are supposed to see, how you are behaving and what is alternate way of behaving. It also gives you various ways of healing and addressing the issue at hand. Till you change the way you treat your mother-in-law, your problem will not change. Remember the way you treat your mother-in-law is the way you will be treated by your daughter-in-law. This is how karma is generated. When we push someone from our life we think we are justified because we don't like them. But when the same dislike comes back to us we cry saying 'why is it happening to me maam?'

Till we change our selfishness and demanding nature, things in our life can not be changed. They are going to come back in our life again and again....no one can make 'magic' happen in your life.....know this........

Me My Guru – On Sadhan being “Sahaj” (effortless!)

      Contd.....

      Pointers to understand the post

Me My Guru – On Sadhan being “Sahaj” (effortless!)

"He fell in love with Sun-God. So, to express his love he used his worship Sun-God through “Sandhya”. " - Sadhan and rituals that we do can be a way to thank the Divine, Reiki or God. When done as a way to thank, show gratitude or affection for the Divine, then it reaps benefits beyond our imagination. It heals our karma like nothing! This is the way to do sadhan especially when we are afraid of facing the consequences of our karma.

Doing the sadhan in exchange for some material benefit is the most lowest form of worship that may give the object of our desire or its equivalent to us. But, since we had done the encashed the sadhan against the things of this World, there is no sadhan left to heal the karma (that we are afraid of facing in future when it comes back to bite us).

"Due to his power of worship, the Sun would not set until his worship was complete." - Sadhan done anyway is good. But, that which has no desire attached to it, which has the purity of intent, which is seeped in affection for the technique or the one for whom we are doing sadhan (like Reiki, Guru,God) then bhakthi gains "SHAKTHI". Our devotion gains power that normal people call as "miracles" and the bhaktha just nods his head and says "oh, yeah that happens" because for him that is the way of life!

Sadhan done to impress others or to inflate our ego keeps count of how much sadhan we do. It keeps count of all the money given in charity. It keeps count of how much we have shared with others, given to others, done for others.

But to experience love, we need to first stop keeping count of the same.
