Me, my guru – Karna receives what he gives!

Like many days before, we came to our Guru’s place with our baggage of frustrations, anger and accusations. In fact, I’ve noticed that most of us would come only with our complaints. We didn’t even think of her much (though we ended up saying ‘we think daily of you maam’ when we met her!!) in our good times. I mean, who had time to go meet a Guru in times of fun and frolic. And then, who wanted to??

But when things didn’t go our way, we went to her place demanding explanations. Today was one such day!

“Guruji, my mother went to temple regularly, did lots of Pooja, knew so many shlokas (sacred mantras) and yet no one came to take care of her in her last days. So, what is the purpose of doing Pooja, chanting and being religious?” asked one among us.

Others joined her with their set of questions.

“My father was such a gentle soul and yet he died. Why?”

“why did God take away my mother from me? I’ve been doing charity work for so long”.

“My mom fed one and all. And yet, in her last days, not one came to feed her. Why be good in such a bad World?”

The questions were many. The examples given were many too. And yet, they all had just one question “Why the person’s sadhan and good deeds didn’t reflect in the way they died or how come good deeds didn’t stop their death?”

Our Guru didn’t answer immediately. She received a call. She went to receive that. In the meantime, we were served our tea. A few minutes later our Guru joined us. She sat comfortably and had her tea as we poured our heart out.

Only three seemed to have read it and responded to it – Rahul, Kshitija and Swathi.

Their response says:

One, they find the pointers useful to understand better. That means, their understanding otherwise was a little less than what is now! That shows that they are AWARE.

It also tells that they are accepting their ignorance. Good! They did not hush it or try to put the blame on something else. They owned it. That is the PRE-REQUISITE to WALK THE SPIRITUAL PATH!

Owning our weaknesses takes us towards our strengths!

Knowing that “I don’t know” is also a great knowing!

When they accepted they benefitted they overcame their fear of rebuke (due to ignorance) and walked towards being fearless, brave and courage! See, it is as simple as that to develop these qualities.

They asked for the pointers to be continued. Asking for help openly tells that the person is working on being HUMBLE! WOW TO THAT! That is THE MOST IMPORTANT QUALITY TO OVERCOME EGO AND KARMA! Every step in that direction is worth the celebration.

By stating that they understood better with the pointers they also are appreciating ‘the quality of the writing’. Appreciation is the quality required to correct our karmas regarding our ‘relationships’. They are working on that!

Not knowing or ignorance is not the bane. Recognizing it is the first step to overcome it. Doing everything within your power to overcome it is the right step towards “freedom from ignorance”. They are there! Applause for that!So, you see, our every act, expresses our direction, intent and character (that is and that is being worked on too).

So, for all the qualities that they expressed through this simple feedback, I am pleased with their effort. As always, I am showing my appreciation by sending Reiki to these noble souls for a month……..

And yes, as requested by them and for them, I will continue giving the pointers as before till I get feedback otherwise!!!

And just like that, even others benefit from this request of theirs! What a way to live - just by being right, honest and sincere we make a difference - a positive one in others' life too!

Wow! wow! and a thousand wow to all that!

Continue being so - again and again - till you reach your goal!

So, I will assume, you don’t want to hear real-life situations that can give clarity on various subjects…

I understand that it does shake people up. And it is only for the brave heart. Those who are here to play it safe and easy, can’t take it. It would unsettle those who only want a rosy-picture painted. I understand. So, will not continue this topic….as no one wants it told this way.....

Your fight can be with your situation.

Your fight can be with your disturbing emotions too! You can be waging war within yourself. You may be facing the inner demons. This fight everyone does alone! Fear would come to us. But like Patridge couple, if we just start the war against the ego, our inner demons and ourselves, then bye and by, we’ll find help from the unknown quarters too. Eventually, we’ll retrieve what we’ve lost.

We’ve lost connection with our soul. We’ve lost ourselves to Maya. We’ll regain our lost kingdom of Heaven. We’ll regain ourselves. We’ll be free from all weaknesses and fear. we’ll be blissful ever after!

God will come then! But, a journey of these 1000 miles starts with the first step!

Do not look at your opponent’s strength.

Do not look at your flaws and weaknesses.

Do not see that you are alone.

Do not be harbouring your negativity on the wrong done to you. Get up. Collect yourself. Take action to correct the wrong.

These were the exact things the Patridge couple did. They didn’t see how mighty the ocean was.

They decided not to let the wrong win.

They fought to right the wrong.

Then, you’ll never feel weak and helpless as humans.

Then, even God will come to your aid.

Arise, awake and stop not ill you reach your goal – Uthishta!” our Guru concluded.

She answered our questions. We were left with no questions – for now!

She gave us our solutions. She showed us the way. But, like the pig, we reveled in our shitty existence. (To understand how Maha Vishnu when took a form of pig was clouded by Maya https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=vishnu+as+pig)

As long as we embraced our ignorance of our “True Nature” there was no way out of our pain and suffering.

She left us for the day!

We left her place.

Did we all receive all that our Guru gave?

Bless the day when we would!!??

There is good news though here. We have an other option – a better option. We can choose to come out of our suffering. For this, we have to first accept that what the other person has done reflects who he is and not us. We can’t change them. Even in future, we can’t change the way the other person behaves with us. But, we can work on ourselves. We can choose not to let their actions impact us. We can heal our conditioning, belief systems, expectations, and ego. This would finally make it easy for us to make the right choices again and again till we master our emotions and our responses.

The person who cheats, defames, deceits or hurts us may be powerful like that Mighty Ocean. Power can be that which comes with money, post, status or even by way of age. Power also comes to a person when he is close to us emotionally too! That is the most ‘powerful’ of all powers. This power makes the person most powerful. Because, we find it easy to fight a war with an outsider, but to have even an argument with a family member drains us of our energy! Now imagine, we have to wage a war against our relatives. That is the level of weakness Arjuna faced in the Kurukshetra war.

Such situations and people that we need to fight against are no doubt powerful. We feel weak and helpless. But, if we like that patridge couple decide to keep up our side of fighting against the wrong-doer, will no doubt win the war – eventually! Even God will be on our side. If we are not ready to fight our battle, how will God come to our aid? So, is it not stupid on our part to curse God for not coming to our aid? Think about it!
