Reflections – On washing dishes – Stress is avoidable!

“Once your torch is lit, pass it on to others for their torch to be lit”. The light of your torch wouldn’t dim if you do – so do!

The common way such posts or examples are misunderstood is “My mil/spouse/kid/my desire not being fulfilled, is my trigger point. Don’t try to play the ‘victim’ who is helpless here!

Understand the post correctly and apply it in the right way – get benefitted and ese your mind’s clutter and life for good.

Every rule has its area of operation. Each rule has its limitations. It doesn’t apply to every situation. Knowing where it can’t be applied also reflects our ‘clarity of thought’. Understanding any Law, the wrong way reflects our “area to be healed”. Take it that way and work in that area.

And before long, you’ll be free from that pain too!

Little by little when we work being aware of our pain and emotions that cause it, we’ll work out our freedom from pain and suffering. That’s all there is to healing and Self-realization!

Please note: As mentioned many times before, I suggest again that you read the topic in one go on the last day it is posted - again to understand it in toto!

I don't and am not making this suggestion at the end of every post but it is my standing suggestion that you do so for greater benefit....

Points to ponder:

  • Being detached or practicing renunciation (sanyasatvam) is not about going into some remote forest, Himalayas and get away from the hurry burry of the life.
  • Practicing spirituality doesn't need you to go away leaving behind your present life!
  • Spirituality is all about being able to bring "AWARENESS" and "MINDFULNESS" to your every day tasks of life.
Question time:
So, what is your take from this post?
How is it going to be beneficial to you?
Can you apply anything from this understanding in your life? If so, how and where?

Reflections – On washing dishes – Stress is avoidable!

Many times, we wrongly hate washing dishes assuming “I don’t like it’. Maybe if you look within, and take a pause, you’ll understand that it is increasing stress in you and that anxiety and stress are something you are uncomfortable with. And that is interpreted as pain and displeasure. And you associate it with dishwashing. And then, you end up disliking it. No doubt, most of us hate such jobs.

But, the main culprit as you see may be the simple pressure of the tap. Just by correcting its flow we can do away with our suffering and dislike at the same time.

On the contrary, maybe you’ll even discover your love for the same!!

Just imagine if the simple pressure of water can trigger so much disturbance in us which is totally and completely avoidable, how much more of such triggers are we living in our daily life?

Maybe, we can’t do away with all of them, but there are also 50% of them we can do away for the start.

So, just for the next 3 days, do your work with awareness. Notice these triggers which are causing anxiety and stress. Notice which is the one that is causing you to hurry. See if the source can be adjusted in any way to decrease your worry or stress. Share your observations with others. Maybe you noticed something that others didn’t! you wouldn’t benefit from this post if I hadn’t written my experience, right? Then pass this to others too. Don’t be the person who only demands or takes from others. In small ways too you can give! Discover the joy of sharing. Know the benefits of sharing by doing it.

    Points to ponder:

    • When we know our pressure points we become aware of our areas of healing.
    • That is half the battle won!
    • All we need to do after that is simply put our 'healing techniques' to good use!
    • And lo! we become free from pain by becoming aware of that pain!

Reflections – On washing dishes – Stress is avoidable!

So, what did you understand from this?

As you see when I increased the pressure of water, because of its speed and sound, I was hurrying to clean the utensils. That hurry in turn increased my anxiety and that in turn increased my stress. Just the opposite happened when I decreased the force of the tap. Its pressure decreased and that in turn decreased my anxiety. I slowed down. That decreased or did away with stress.

So to sum up, tap pressure increased, stress increased.

When tap pressure decreased, stress decreased.

“So when this comes that comes, when this goes that goes” – This is the Law of Interdependence!

To understand this just try with tap as I explained and see for yourself.

      Points to ponder:

      • Life is the greatest teacher. It teaches first and explains later!
      • Be in the school of life! Situations of life are the "LAB" of life where it teaches about ourselves!

Please note: If you are reading a post with "contd" at the end, it means it is continued. At the end of each post, you'll find the words " Newer post    Home   Older post" - just click on the newer post. It will take you to the next post which would be the "contd" (continued) part of the post that you have already read....
Hope this clears the doubt and answers your questions....

Reflections – On washing dishes – Stress is avoidable!

Reflections – On washing dishes – Stress is avoidable!

The other day, as every other day, I was washing dishes. The radio was playing on the side. I was stressed. I paused. I now started doing dishes with ‘awareness’. The stress started building. I found it to come from my ears. The sound was the trigger. I paused. I tried to find the culprit – ‘the sound’. I slowed down the tap. My stress came down. I could do washing effortlessly. Then, just to cross-verify, I increased the flow of tap, and lo! My anxiety increased. I decreased it and it decreased. I played with it a couple of times more. It was the same every single time. I smiled. This stress and anxiety were avoidable. I knew that now. I don’t have to heal it. I just had to remove it. It can be nibbed at the bud. I can be done away with at the source.

**Do this exercise yourself to understand this experientially – without fail!

        Points to ponder:

        • Spirituality is all about USING LIFE SITUATIONS to become aware of yourself, your emotions, your pain.

        • Being aware of the same, we use that knowhow to outgrow it!

Last Grace healing of 2023 – Sadhan Zone 2023

Last Grace healing of 2023 – Sadhan Zone 2023

As already mentioned before many started on this journey of sadhan. https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=sadhan+2023 and https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/2023/10/sadhan-on-its-continuance.html

But, only 3 completed the sadhan at the appointed time. To those three – Swathi, Kshitija and Bhagyarekha as a way of my appreciation I will be sending Reiki for one whole week till next Tuesday….

        Way to go girls!

Others, who started but couldn’t continue, don’t feel disheartened. Some Reiki is better than no Reiki. So, good for that!

So, what are the lessons we learned by way of this Sadhan?

What did we learn about ourselves during this journey?

What can we do about it?

These questions are addressed even to those who discontinued for various reasons. Address these questions and you’ll hit upon a “pile of gold” at the end of the tunnel.

        # healing self, on healing, sadhan, miracles, working out our destiny, destiny and fate, karma, life, abundance,

        Questions addressed:

        • What can we do to heal our karma?
        • What can be done to take charge of our lives?
        • Can we change our lives for the better? How?
        • How long to heal to see the change in our lives?
        • How does sadhan make a difference in our lives?

        Law and dharma!

        Law and dharma!

A restraint imposed by the state is “Law”.

A restraint imposed by self is “dharm”.

Sometimes, the state can impose restrain but not often.

We know how to break the Law. That’s why despite breaking many laws people remain free. That is not justice. The law can be broken. But justice is meted by ‘self’ on self. It is governed by the human heart aka consciousness. It operates from within. That is the reason, even when God or Guru forgives your sins or wrongdoings, your Central Nervous System doesn’t – even when you are ‘adamant’ enough to say “I know I am right” or “no one can find fault with me and my actions because of XYZ reasons”.

Only in a society where most of the people are governed by self-restraint, Dharma resides. There, the society and government are just and where most of the people don’t have self-restraint, there society and government are in a state of anarchy! So true!

        What a beautiful Idea!

        What a complete concept!

What a wonderful World that would be!

Jai ho for that being the way of life in the “Olden days in India” and hence was called the Land of the Dharm where people’s character was pristine.

So, now that we know this, let’s stop blaming others, society, government, Time and fate for being bad. If you want to live in a ‘good and just society/family’ start it with self!

Let’s bring “dharm” into our lives.

Let’s be the change that we seek!

Let’s work towards building a flawless character!

Let’s work towards enshrining Ram within!

Let’s recreate Ram Rajya the right and complete way!

Let’s set an example to the World about what living in Dharm means!

Let's leave behind the World that is safe for our next generations to come!

Note: Those who are living abroad too fall under this ‘yagna’. For you represent “Bharat” to the people of the World out there. Represent it in all its glory by your acharan – conduct!

        ****************

        # dharm, Vedic philosophy, Law and dharm, National character of the Land called India, character, purpose of life, rules to be followed for walking the path of life, being human, godhood, spirituality, being divine, spiritual journey,

        also read:https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/2009/10/character.html

Points to ponder and questions answered:

        • What is "dharm"?
        • How to overcome the cycle of good and bad times?
        • How to build strength to face tough times in life?
        • What is that that protects the man who follows it at all times?
        • What is my contribution to Society?
        • In what best way can I contribute to the Society?
        • As long as one is fearful, one can't follow Dharm. When one follows Dharm, there is no 'fear'.

        • Wherever life has stationed you (as per your karma), just be there with all humility.
        • Do your job - even as simple as cleaning your home, with all honesty, sincerity, joy and commitment. That would be living in dharm at that point of time.
        • Whatever you do, with whomsoever you live/interact, do it with the utmost kindness, respect, humility, dignity, honesty, joy and integrity of character.
        • Come back to your centre as many times as possible per day. Bring peace within and in the place of your residence with your mere presence. That also would be putting dharm to practice.

        Milestones of the year 2024!!!

        Milestones of the year 2024!!!

For the past few years, the first few months have been slack months and then we pick up the speed in the last segment of the year! This year let’s turn the tables…let’s have milestones right from the first day on!

But, this is going to be on you! Based on our past (all) years count, you’ll remind me of the targets to reach at every step. You’ll recognize and validate when the set target is reached!

The first is the only one that I’ll be stating! All others are on you! The lowest count of posts in all these years has been “59” for the year 2012. God knows why such a poor performance that year. Well, no point talking about the past though now!!!

So, let’s take that year’s number as our first target a.k.a. 59. If we complete 59 posts, then we won’t be the lowest this year – at least!!! So, let’s work towards that!

Next, what is the possible number of posts that we can reach this year!!! Each come up with a number, let’s make this race exciting!!!

        ******

        # targets, achievements, success, giving your best shot, aim for the best, working aimlessly, pace up your life,

        also read: https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/2021/09/one-more-milestone-in-blog-posts.html

I had so many posts to go back to for this "also read" but chose this instead...you can go back and read other posts and share with others the ones that you like if you please....

        Question time:

Leaving aside our blog posts, what is your personal target in your life?

Take time - take whole week, think, write and then read, think and then post in the blog....

write your target for this year and then your target for your life - what are they?

Specify your material targets and your personal growth targets separately....

Let's compare notes at the end of the year......then we'll know how to be a better planner next year.....
