'All that is seen is unreal' is just a teaser that talks of how we are driven by our eyes and what we say as 'see'. But, the actual scope of this sentence is 'All that is experienced through the sense organs are unreal'.
Coming to your question sonia - and i am sure is the question of many others too - 'How can i be insensitive to all that I see assuming that this is unreal?'
First and foremost - the sentence never meant 'All that you see is unreal so be insensitive'. It meant 'the understanding that comes with the sense organ - eyes and all that it perceives is unreal' and i have explained that with the examples. If I see someone crying, I immediately think they are suffering. Seeing them crying is not unreal - it is happening, but it is the presumption that they are suffering is or may be wrong. They can be crying out of joy - immense joy too! But, that thought is the or may be not even the last thought that comes to me!
Situation is real - happening is real - but the understanding that comes with seeing this situation / happening is unreal!
This sentence has depth that can't be explained in few lines.....flow with it and think about it....meaning will unfold on its own.......slowly over the years maybe, but it will....
When a person understands it the way i meant it or as it is, then he/she doesn't become insensitive to situations - on the contrary, one becomes sensitive to situations and handles them with lots more love and compassion, but with the understanding that the suffering is totally based on ignorance and nothing but ignorance and will work to remove it and not attend to the situation topically.....that's all...
it's like when we see a child fall down or lose a toy crying, we cuddle the child, explain that all will be fine soon, etc., but with the understanding that all this is a passing phase in growing and crying over a toy is a redundant thing to do...we talk to the child at his level but with our understanding and not losing our balance of mind over this issue.....we want the child to come out of the pain yet we ourselves don't suffer with the child.......inspite of loving him completely......

All that is seen....

One liners are not the statements which should be agreed/disagreed at face value.

Their purpose is so very different!

They are the brain-teasers – in other words they should be chanted and applied at almost every situation and understood from that point of situation and time…then meaning unfolds differently (as said by b.singh in one of the comments section) in different situations….it means different too at different points of time…….as you play with these sentences and use them as ‘tag liners’ / ‘pauses’ / ‘reminders to get connected with the absolute Truth or Self’ meaning unfolds layer by layer and then we taste what is called as satori by Zen – specks of enlightenment.

Always remember – before the absolute enlightenment happens many small enlightenments enroute……. Taste it, experience it and enjoy it…..

One of the liner is explained with just 3 examples. But it’s scope is so vast that just this sentence can remove our ignorance and give us absolute clarity of thought in every subject provided we apply it religiously everywhere……

All that is seen is not real..

We are guided by our sense organs and Eyes is one such sense organ that makes maximum effect on our psyche. At every such moment, am I aware of the Truth?

For eg: some Stars that are seen every night and enjoyed are dead long back. Others are so many light years old that they must have shrinked drastically or moved away from where they seem to be to our eyes. In short, what we see don’t exist NOW as I see them or in other words they don’t exist the way I presume them to.

Sun rises in East and sets in West – This is the most accepted presumption (like many others too!) but does the SUN ever RISE or SET – NO!. but we SEE it rising and setting and think it to be true though proved that it doesn’t happen.

We celebrate at birth and cry and fret and fume at death - but both these events don't happen in real sense or the way we understand them or deal with them or the way we experience them....Soul never takes birth nor dies - yet we talk of both these events as a day to day happening - moreover, we say or feel sorry if anyone 'dies' and are ever running from death when that is the only reality that happens to us every moment of our life.....So, the Truth is ...

We SEE what we want to Believe. In other words our mind collaborates with our senses to conjure up the image that fits it’s fancy. Hence all that is seen is not real!

Said a blade of grass to an autumn leaf "You make such a noise falling! You scatter all my winter dreams."
And the leaf said "You are low born and hence can't tell the sound of singing"
Then the autumn leaf lay down and slept and when spring came she was a blade of grass..
And then when the leaves were falling all over her she said " O these autumn leaves! They make such a noise! They scatter all my winter dreams.."

PUT THE GLASS DOWN

On Putting the Glass Down

Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see and asked the students "How much do you think this glass weighs?"'50gms!’..... '100gms!' .....'125gms' ...the students answered.

"I really don't know unless I weigh it," said the professor, "but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?"

'Nothing' …..the students said.'

Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked.

'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the student"

You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?"

"Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress, paralysis and have to go to hospital for sure!" ….. ventured another student and all the students laughed.

"Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?" asked the professor.

'No'…. Was the answer.

"Then what caused the arm ache and the muscle stress?

"The students were puzzled.

"What should I do now to come out of pain?" asked professor again.

"Put the glass down!" said one of the students

"Exactly!" said the professor.

Life's problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head and they seem OK.Think of them for a long time and they begin to ache. Hold it even longer and they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything. It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, But EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before You go to sleep..That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh and strong and can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!

'PUT THEM DOWN' is the other word for detachment. Detachment doesn't mean that I am not involved. It just means I am not carrying my pains and failures or any such psychic impressions with me to the bed and thereby am fresh and strong enough to handle the situations of life the best possible way the next day.....

Let our new tag be "Am i carrying junk?" from today to remind others of the 'put them down' need....

An interesting reflection: Slow Down Culture

Patience - An answer to lots of our issues

It's been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple
and brilliant. It's a rule. Globalized processes have caused in us (all over the world) a general sense of searching for immediate results. We have come to possess a need to see immediate results. This contrasts greatly with the slow movements of the Swedish. They, on the other hand, debate, debate, debate, hold endless meetings and work with a slowdown scheme. At the end though, this always yields outstanding results.

Said in another words: 1. Sweden is about the size of San Pablo , a state in Brazil . 2. Sweden has 2 million inhabitants. 3. Stockholm , has 500,000 people. 4. Volvo, Escania, Ericsson, Electrolux, Nokia are some of its renowned companies. Volvo supplies the NASA.

The first time I was in Sweden , one of my colleagues picked me up at the hotel every morning. It was September, cold and snowy. We would arrive early at the company and he would park far away from the entrance (2000 employees drive their cars to work). The first day, I didn't say anything, neither the second nor the third. One morning I asked, "Do you have a fixed parking space? I've noticed we park far from the entrance even when there are no other cars in the lot." To which he replied, "Since we're here early we'll have time to walk, and whoever gets in late will be in a hurry and need a place closer to the door. Don't you think?" Nowadays, there's a movement in Europe name Slow Food. This movement establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing. Slow Food is against its counterpart: the spirit of Fast Food and what it stands for as a lifestyle. Slow Food is the basis for a bigger movement called Slow Europe, as mentioned by Business Week. Basically, the movement questions the sense of "hurry" and "craziness" generated by globalization, fueled by the desire of "having in quantity" (life status) versus "having with quality" or the "quality of being". The French, even though they work 35 hours per week, are more productive than the Americans or British. The Germans have established 28.8 hour workweeks and have seen productivity driven up by 20%. This slow attitude has brought forth the US 's attention, pupils of the fast and the "do it now!".

This no-rush attitude doesn't represent doing less or having lower productivity. It means working and doing things with greater quality, productivity, perfection, with attention to detail and less stress. It means re-establishing family values, friends and leisure time. Taking the "now", present and concrete, versus the "global", undefined and anonymous. It means taking essential human values, the simplicity of living. It stands for a less coercive work environment, happier, lighter and more productive where people enjoy doing what they know best how to do. It's time to stop and think on how companies need to develop serious quality with no-rush that will increase productivity and the quality of products and services, without losing the essence of spirit.

Many of us live our lives running behind time, but we only reach it when we die of a heart attack or in a car accident rushing to be on time. Others are so anxious of living the future that they forget to live the present, which is the only time that truly exists. We all have equal time throughout the world. No one has more or less. The difference lies in what each one of us does with our time. We need to live each moment. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans". Congratulations for getting to the end of this message. There are many who would've stopped in the middle so as not to waste time in this "globalized" world.

Patience is a virtue highly under-rated in today's world but yet worth possessing and practicing....

start working on developing this quality to better the quality of our lives......
When God's want to punish us, they fulfill our wishes!

Completeness or emptiness....

We have dealt with various aspects of Financial Abundance in our lives….and that completes our topic of FA…

Emotional well-being, physical and FA – all these topics have already been dealt with…Please Go through the older posts the days I don’t post any thing new…

“Will I want anything the moment I am complete?”

As long as I am empty (dissatisfaction is just one of symptoms that state that I am empty ), I’ll try to fill that emptiness with all the things and people of the world which I presume will fill that emptiness and give me happiness in life….but “andhe kuve mein kitana bhi paani dalo, who bhartha nahin hai”….emptiness is like a Blackhole – it sucks everything that you give it and still would be empty only….so, a person who operates with the Belief “I am empty and need to fill this emptiness with the things of this world and ONLY THEN I will be happy will never be so even after having the world at his feet..” Hitler, Alexander, any successful and powerful person who was operating from emptiness will prove this for you…..

On the other hand, a person who is fulfilled and is complete from within still may try to work for the things of the world but they will reflect his completeness….
his is complete and happy and to express them he will dance…
to express his joy he will sing, paint, work etc
to express his joy he will love…
his every act will be an act of expression of his state of Being which is complete and fulfilled….

The empty person says “I want to be happy so I dance”
The complete person says “I am dancing because I am happy”.

That’s all is the difference….sounds simple and is so too….

Character

Character is the back-bone of every abundance in our lives - more so financial.

Every WEALTHY person has a strong, inspiring and a value-based character in him.

Person's and with him nation's downfall starts the day character becomes ill-fitting on him.

See what the India was at 1835......

Lord Macaulay's address to the British Parliament 2nd Feb 1835

"I've travelled the length and the breadth of India and I have not seen a one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this country. Such high moral values, people of such calibre, that I do not think we would conquer this country, unless we break the very back-bone of this nation which is her spiritual and cultural heritage and therefore I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own they will lose their self-esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them a truly dominated nation."

History is not to be repeated.
History is not to feel proud about and forget the present.
History is to understand our follies and not to repeat it again.

This simply states the importance of character and how it reflects in our well-being and the nation's automatically.

For this simple reason we are working on our follies, mis-givings, short-comings so that we come out as strong individuals with sound character because our lives depend entirely on our character only.....
May this simple understanding bring abundance into your lives.....

Attitudes

Family comes first....

Charity and attitudes with regards to spending and earning are the qualities that I need to develop not with FA in mind but with an awareness that I need to give back to the society from which I got so much.

Atleast 10% of my earnings should be earmarked for charity. That should top the list not be at the end. Charity is 'now' or 'never'. So, if one waits till one has more than sufficient to do charity that day will never come. This has already been dealt with many times - refer previous blogs for this aspect.

India in good olden days had abundance with regards to everything and still there was peace and happiness. Now, money comes with a package of tension, heartburns and what not! Why is it so? Then 'People used things but loved people' but now 'we have ended up using people and loving things'. Just a small shift has made all the difference in our lives.....

Reflect on this story....

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,'Oh excuse me please' was my reply. He said, 'Please excuse me too;I wasn't watching for you.'We were very polite, this stranger and I.We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,How we treat our loved ones, young and old..

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,My son stood beside me very still. When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown. He walked away, his little heart broken.I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken. While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said,'While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use,but the family you love, you seem to abuse.Go and look on the kitchen floor,You'll find some flowers there by the door. Those are the flowers he brought for you.He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small,And now my tears began to fall.I quietly went and knelt by his bed;'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'

He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'

He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.I love you anyway.'I said, 'Son, I love you too,and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

FAMILY - Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family,an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?

As we are working for our comforts and our near and dear ones are we enroute making a shift unconsciously that gives importance only to our work and not to the ones for whom we are working?

We should work so that we live comfortably.....we should not live to work.....reflect on this as i do my own self-check....

Just love your work!

Coming back to attitudes that I need to develop to experience FA in my life….

Love for work spills over in the form of commitment and perfection in the work that I take up to do. And anything perfect is immediately appreciated and valued more than the imperfect one. The value is also long lasting. Take any example of old architecture, old paintings, and sculptures – just about anything. Wherever a person was in love with his vocation, there genius was born and out of his love spilled a perfect piece of art admired and valued even centuries after the person is gone and sometimes forgotten too…

Love for my work makes me do ‘ordinary things in an extraordinary way’ and that exactly is the key to success story written my way in my life. Follow the following fact file to see how an ordinary work can be converted into worship or an art work. Also notice that the Japanese farmers just did it for the love of it but soon were noticed all over the world and the tourism that developed because of it brought extra revenue for the entire community. Just love what you do. Forget about the results. It’ll follow for sure.

A Japanese story

Stunning crop art has sprung up across rice fields in Japan .
But this is no alien creation - the designs have been cleverly planted.
Farmers creating the huge displays use no ink or dye. Instead, different colours of rice plants have been precisely and strategically arranged and grown in the paddy fields.
As summer progresses and the plants shoot up, the detailed artwork begins to emerge.
A Sengoku warrior on horseback has been created from hundreds of thousands of rice plants, the colours created by using different varieties, in Inakadate in Japan The largest and finest work is grown in the Aomori village of Inakadate , 600 miles north of Toyko, where the tradition began in 1993.

The village has now earned a reputation for its agricultural artistry and this year the enormous pictures of Napoleon and a Sengoku-period warrior, both on horseback, are visible in a pair of fields adjacent to the town hall.
More than 150,000 vistors come to Inakadate, where just 8,700 people live, every summer to see the extraordinary murals.
Each year hundreds of volunteers and villagers plant four different varieties of rice in late May across huge swathes of paddy fields.
Napolean on horseback can be seen from the skies, created by precision planting and months of planning between villagers and farmers in Inkadate Fictional warrior Naoe Kanetsugu and his wife Osen appear in fields in the town of Yonezawa , Japan And over the past few years, other villages have joined in with the plant designs.
Another famous rice paddy art venue is in the town of Yonezawa in the Yamagata prefecture.
This year's design shows the fictional 16th-century samurai warrior Naoe Kanetsugu and his wife, Osen, whose lives feature in television series Tenchijin.
Various artwork has popped up in other rice-farming areas of Japan this year, including designs of deer dancers.
Smaller works of crop art can be seen in other rice-farming areas of Japan such as this image of Doraemon and deer dancers
The farmers create the murals by planting little purple and yellow-leafed kodaimai rice along with their local green-leafed tsugaru roman variety to create the coloured patterns between planting and harvesting in September.
The murals in Inakadate cover 15,000 square metres of paddy fields.
From ground level, the designs are invisible, and viewers have to climb the mock castle tower of the village office to get a glimpse of the work.
Rice-paddy art was started there in 1993 as a local revitalization project, an idea that grew out of meetings of the village committee.
Closer to the image, the careful placement of thousands of rice plants in the paddy fields can be seen
The different varieties of rice plant grow alongside each other to create the masterpieces
In the first nine years, the village office workers and local farmers grew a simple design of Mount Iwaki every year.
But their ideas grew more complicated and attracted more attention.
In 2005 agreements between landowners allowed the creation of enormous rice paddy art.
A year later, organisers used computers to precisely plot planting of the four differently colored rice varieties that bring the images to life.

They did it all for the love of it and became famous, rich and successful and not to mention the joy of being recognised for the labour that they put in...they didn't stop doing their profession .... they just added a little bit of variety in it and they got name, fame, success and all - just for the love of doing their job well....

If you want success coming your way either pick up a profession that you love or end up loving the profession you are in....

no man became successful inspite of disliking his office/ job/ business...

think about it.... and sleep tight on this idea and then dream on your way to success...only to get up and work your way to your dreams....

hello uday welcome to our family of self-healers...

FA means Financial abundance...you should have gone through all our older blogs to understand our short forms- that's all...

next, there is nothing to feel bad/ good about your opinion....it's just an opinion...and you are entitled to voice it...it's good perspective...the whole blog is to understand the mind game and then to be freed from it - so we are all looking at the whole of mind game....it is not good/ bad...it just is and that's what we need to know....to drop it ultimately...

We are dealing with the aspect of FA in our lives right now! But, as always said, English has a limitation with regards to words and the meaning that one wishes to express especially with regards to the world of spirituality (which in other words would be Completeness). One such word is “Ashta Aishwarya” which means ‘eight types of abundance or wealth’ should make a man a complete man. In this list comes last though not the least – our dear cash or assets. It means any man to experience the wealth of life should have eight aspect of wealth and cash is the last one needed to actually feel wealthy.

If it be so, how come I live and feel like a beggar all through my life? Why am I leading a life of penury – whether real or imaginary day after day?

And the answer is what I am repeatedly coming to through every subject dealt with and with the start and end of this blog too….. that is symptoms are many and of various degrees in our life – symptoms of deficiencies…..but the root cause is always the one and the only one. That is ‘we not knowing ourselves’. There is no other reason for us to experience any type of lacuna in our life. But we are….

Feeling wealthy, complete and peaceful is a remote utopian dream which looks unattainable for any normal man – this is the common belief. But, in actuality we already are wealthy, complete and peaceful. Refer story of a beggar who doesn’t know is the ‘heir apparent to a kingdom’.

Because of this ignorance all the reasons which cause deficiencies in our life look real and unsolvable.

Ignorance comes from attachment with the ten windows of our body viz., are five sense organs and five action organs. They enslave us and thereby karma is accrued ……….and then emptiness makes us hallow from within and this emptiness is the cause of deficiency in life – be it physical, social, emotional or financial. Only abundance can attract abundance. This is the golden rule. And so I said “ get detached from the ten windows of our body”….if you really want to experience FA in life…

Happy Dassera to all of you!

May Shakthi - the Mother Goddess give you strength, clarity of thought and a desire to drop all the attachments and slavery that comes with the ten windows of this body......

May you come out victorious on the fight that each one is waging with the demon called EGO personified by Mahisasura ..................

May you all be victorious on SELF and then in actuality be celebrating VIJAYA DASAMI ..........

May this victory thereby bring abundance of well being in all spheres of your life.....

HAPPY DASSERA ONCE AGAIN!

Give, you never become poor of giving.

Enough of reasons / attitudes which prevents me from experiencing FA in my life. Let me look at attitudes which I need to develop to experience FA in my life.

Qualities that I need to develop are :
1. Gratitude
2. Love for work and honesty in work eg: Japanese farms – ragas group
3. Charity
4. Attitudes with regards to spending – miserliness/ savings

How do I develop Gratitude with regards to FA in my life? And what are the areas which require this gratitude? And why should I have gratitude for money that I receive both in cash and in kind?

I have talked so many times of gratitude that I am sure you have got it by now. So, can I have few of you coming up with the explanations……till you jot down those points, let me go on to write the next blog with regards to Love for work and also honesty in work and why it is important and how it is important for FA to come my way………..

All who are writing the comments / explanations are doing a good job...thank you for that...i wish many others would follow suit. Those of you who can't post for what so ever be the reason, pl. send a mail to your fellow channel who can post it on your behalf...but write ...even writing is a form of healing.....

all the best.....

Attitudes

Attitudes

The most important for any healing is ‘attitude’ as we all very well know. Then, what are the attitudes that hamper my FA in my life. I’ll just give few examples to reflect on wrong attitudes – please take time to reflect on other attitudes. Don’t brush it aside saying ‘I am not like this’ or ‘This applies to so and so person correctly’. Are we not bothered about our FA here. Then why the talk about x, y, or z in our life?

1. One lie many would love to say emphatically is “I am not a money minded person. I am not interested in money. I don’t like or need money.” Think about this statement. Why do we say this in the first place? What is the message I am sending to the world at large? I want to educate my kids in the best universities and yet say ‘I don’t need money’. I want articles to make life of my kids and family members comfortable and still say ‘I don’t want money’. Monthly atleast twice I need to go to hotels to entertain my near and dear but still say ‘I don’t need money’. Should I continue? What exactly makes me say this ‘complete white lies’.
2. One more statement which is a great give away of our personality is “I never get what I want though I deserve it. But all others get more than what they deserve.” What character is reflected when a person states such dialogues? How and why it affects FA of that person? Please elaborate.
3. Wastage. Reiki is abundance. But reiki and nature is against wastage. I request you all to expand and explain this statement too.
4. Can you come up with such related attitudes with regards to money – spending and earning that is bad for FA?

As you write in detail I’ll go on to write the next blog…….

Greed

The duck that lay golden eggs

The next issue or quality that has a telling effect on my FA would be ‘Greed’. We’ll recollect our childhood story in a gist to understand what greed is all about.

Once upon a time not very long ago lived a farmer named Buddhuram whose wife was called Lobhisree. Buddhuram was happy with his life but his wife always would remind him of the insufficiencies in their life and would reprimand him to earn more to satisfy their needs. One day Buddhuram helped a duck which was caught in a hunter’s net and the duck out of gratitude said “Buddhuram you are a very good man. I would like to pay back your help by staying with you for some days to come. Take me home. I’ll lay a golden egg each day and you can sell it in the market and live happily for ever.”

Buddhuram was both surprised and elated. He took the duck home and it started to lay eggs as promised – one egg a day. His wife was very happy at the start, but very soon became restless. Her fear was “What if the duck leaves them? Why do we have to wait everyday just for one egg when we can get all the eggs that the duck is to lay in it’s entire life by just cutting it open?” these and such related thoughts bothered her day and night and she shared it with her husband. Initially he was very angry with her. But, slowly she kept repeating the same fear again and again and it had a telling effect on him slowly and steadily. Even without his knowledge, he started thinking on those grounds.

One day, he relented to his fear and greed and cut open the duck’s stomach. To their utter dismay, they found it empty of gold. They cried their heart out. They wanted the duck to come back to life, so that they can get at least one egg a day. But, it was not to happen.

Now, what does this story which we know since long teach us today? How does it apply to FA in my life? What is greed and how does it affect me? Share your views till I come up with my next blog…..

Resolve to clean up the junk that’s unused.

Both Anand's and b.singh's explanations are good...it's so nice to see all understand it so correctly and beautifully and then write it so clearly and simply...what stops you from writing everytime clearly? You both have good writing skills but that can be developed only when you write - so take every opportunity to write - especially to explain what you like about the 'One liners' which i call as 'Key Notes' because they are 'key ' to unravel our mind games.

Anand has come up with his blog 'www.happierliving.blogspot.com' . please go through it. it's very simple and beautifully put across. good work anand. keep writing....

All that is feared is not necessarily bad!

I request those who have marked 'excellent' for this to explain to that one who has marked it 'not clear'....

please do the needful....

Every act finds its fulfillment or it’s emptiness not in its own doing but in the intention behind such an act. Same applies to the act of bribery too!

The third most dangerous type come when the intention is really bad and the repercussions of such bribery is really harmful for the personnel involved, for the institutions and may be for the society at large. Here, the basic intention behind the act itself is very bad and harmful for one and all. Few examples given below would illustrate it better.
1. When an innocent is framed so that the accused gets away – be it any crime, is an unpardonable crime. Here, the law maker turns into a law breaker – be it politician, policemen, lawyer and who not. It is a clear case of ‘rakshak becoming the bhakshak’. Here, bribe is given and received for proving an innocent as a criminal. It is not a bribe. It is sharing the booty of the crime. And the person who is involved by accepting ‘bribe’ becomes the criminial’s accomplice.
2. The same applies when the person – be it civilian or the defence personnel or the concerned official takes ‘bribe’ and turns a blind eye to the proceedings of ‘transfer of weapons or bombs’ et like items that are the threat to the society and the country at large. They forget that the little benefit they get, they are paying a huge price as a member of that society and nation too. Their families could also be effected. They can’t imagine that. For a little materialistic benefit they are ready to forgo so many people’s live and safety – can’t be a human quality – certainly is a asura quality. Using a simple word ‘bribe’ would be a misnormer. It should be called as ‘price paid to sell one’s character and the soul’.
3. The same applies to any form of smuggling – need I elaborate on this?
4. When ever, I am torturing a girl or her family for dowry and then on the later date get away from the law by bribing the concerned officials –well, there is no word usable for the concerned officials or for the person whose dowry greedy.
5. Such of ‘bribes’ that make an official turn a blind eye towards poor quality in construction especially flyovers, dams etc that can cost millions of rupees lose to the nation and the loss of human lives when the time comes to pay the price because of poor construction quality.
6. ‘bribe’ paid to turn ‘life saving drugs’ as ‘life taking ones’ by whom-so-ever-concerned
all this and such related issues come under the category which are sinful in nature…..

Now, this is for understanding of the term ‘bribe’ and the consequence of ‘bribery’ at every level. Does this understanding make me a better person in any way? Since, the answer is no. For me the knowing is no knowing. Then, what exactly am I to do? The journey as and when I started was for my awareness and for me to choose how to express myself and my life the best possible way and to understand the repercussions of my various emotions lived and experienced by me in my life.

That means, it was always about me and my actions and my reactions to the situations in my life. Why did the question of others and their value system come into picture? As beautifully explained by Madhuri in yesterday’s comments, let’s sit to sharpen our axes if we want to be excellent workers. And that means, let’s cleanse ourselves of our acquired self if we wish to make this world a beautiful place to live. Because, world is nothing but the figment of my imagination. I am making a difference in this world. Then if it be so, what is MY contribution to this world consciousness? That only is in my hand – literally and that’s where the journey should start too…..journey of cleansing this world of all its negativities – negativities being my own dropping from time immemorial…..

Count me in when ever you are planning to cleanse self and there in making this world a better place to live for you and for me and for every one around……..

bribe...

So, today we wish to deal with the topic ‘bribe’. As already explained ‘bribe’ means ‘gift or consideration of any kind offered to any one to influence his judgement or conduct. It is a type of seduction used to influence a person’s way of working’.

This is practiced in various quarters of our life. Rightly understood, it is practiced by one and all in all walks of life. I’ll give just few examples. Don’t say “I don’t do it” and feel proud about it. This is not it. They should help us to point at all such related issues.

The most common and accepted would be a mother giving ice-cream or toffee in exchange for the food eaten completely or medicine taken or for behaving properly. We are teaching the kids to accept bribe right from the young days and we call it ‘love’. Every time we exchange some thing with the child in exchange for the rank he gets, for his behaviour etc are we not practicing bribing the soft way? We are not ashamed of it! In fact, we share this knowledge with other parents and ask them to follow it too….every person should do his duties on his own and shouldn’t expect any extra rewards for it – even the child for that matter. Because character is set right from then onwards. When we do it, we call it ‘love’ ‘small child no, so it’s ok’ ‘ yeh sab tho karma padtha hai’ and all that. And find fault with others when they do it in grown up situations?

That shows that I have an attitude that says “show me the person and I’ll frame the rule”. Is that right?

The second type come in day-to-day affairs like not wanting to pay fine of say Rs.500/- and bargain for Rs.100-150/- with policemen and get away with it. It is considered savings and good bargaining and even policemen get our swearing. But, more than him, I am responsible for his act. As this could have been totally done away with it by simply following few steps like 1.maintaining/ possessing all the papers required for /during driving 2. following traffic rules honestly and completely 3. by not breaking traffic rules thought it’s easy to follow traffic rules, it seems Herculean task for many to follow and then end up giving bribe and later complain against policemen. This is just one eg. And such related bribe situations can be totally done away with provided I want to.

The next type come under such of category where the person who to get his right is forced to bribe the person who needs to pay him his due. For eg. 1.a pensioner who’s asked by the officer to pay bribe to get his pension 2.medical bills / any bill reimbursed only when the person concerned is bribed. 3. loan/ clearance given only against bribe and all such cases.

Here, all the papers are intact and the person who’s to receive the amount is completely eligible to receive it and yet is forced to cough up some amount to the person concerned to receive the same. Here, it’s the clear case of person not doing his duty or expecting more than his salary just to do his job. This reflects person’s greed, dishonesty and lack of commitment towards his job. Greed, dishonesty and commitment are already dealt with. There is no end to these. At the same time, one can choose to bend to pressure or flow with tide depending upon his internal strength. Azim premji didn’t wish to bribe the official for energy and went to start his own power plant. And don’t say, well, he can afford to. No, he couldn’t afford to then. He didn’t know anything of power or energy then. But, he went on to get it because he WANTED TO.

Now, the question is do all of us, have the strength to lay our own roads to success? If not, why not? Why do we always get away saying “oh, but, it’s not possible for me because of x, y, and z reason?”

Every situation is an opportunity wrapped up as a bitter pill to chart out new routes to success. But, the question is, are we listening?

Every time, the world pushes you on to your knees, you are in perfect position to pray. But, are you happy praying or complaining about the knee pain – that makes all the difference!
The most dangerous type of bribe is yet to be dealt with....but that's for next blog....

cheating...

It’s long after that I’ve seen comments/ doubts posted. So, someone’s reading the blog. So, to that one person who’s reading it, I’ll write for few more days to come. Yes, I was thinking of winding up writing on blog after the completion of ‘FA’ topic. But, I think, I need to shelf that thought for few more days to come.

The doubt raised is “why should honest people resort to bribery?” and such related questions. But, I have not touched ‘bribe’ anywhere yet. We are dealing with cheating only. Cheating is not equal to bribe.

Cheating can be understood as :
At physical level : 1. giving below graded or low graded quality/ service / good in exchange for money / kind.
2. When someone’s paying less than what he/ she should without letting the other person know.
3. When the other person trusts you and you give less than what you owe.
4. Taking undue advantage of your relationship, position, power and denying returning the due that you owe.
5. Telling lies and getting work done or getting cash / kind as favour.
Basically breaking trust of someone is called ‘cheating’.

At emotional level : 1. Using emotional blackmailing also comes under cheating.
2. taking undue advantage of position, relation, power and getting away with wish granted.

At spiritual level : I want you to come out on that…..
These are just few examples. They are not the only ways of cheating. Be aware of actions and the intentions behind every act and then cheating would be understood in totality of its nature.

‘Bribe’ on the other hand means ‘gift or consideration of any kind offered to any one to influence his judgement or conduct. It is a type of seduction used to influence a person’s way of working’. Here, many times it may not involve cheating also. A person waiting in the hospital for tests to be done pays few rupees to the ward-boy and gets them done without waiting for his turn is one such case. Here, actually the person requires that tests to be done and the hospital also is for doing it only. Here, no one is losing ‘actually’ much in this case of bribery. It’s the impatience on the part of the person that forces him to ‘bribe’ the ward boy and get his work done. Though it is considered illegal, actually there is nothing illegal about this. But, it is unethical. Others who are waiting lose out on their time which is bad. It talks about person’s selfishness and so it is bad. Otherwise, no one actually gets harmed by this or such acts. It is to be dealt in detail and that would call for one more blog…..so, wait till next blog….

Till then, contemplate on the meaning of ‘cheating’ and ‘bribe’ and ‘how much do I do either or both of these in my life?’ for the smooth functioning of my life?

This journey is to ‘know myself better’ and ‘not to justify my actions’ or ‘to fool or market myself as a good person’. So, let’s put aside our pretences at least in solitude and face ourselves in nudity of our thoughts and then think of revamping our priorities and goals in life…

Monday, August 24, 2009

It takes more strength to be honest than to cheat! Now, the question is "What do I chose to be? A strong person or a weak one?". And it is the answer, that decides my actions and therein my fate too!

peace of mind..

A boy and a girl

Interconnection between our acts and their results cannot be seen by us in day to day life....but a simple story can throw light on it...how our peace of mind is based on our intentions and actions........

A boy A and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles..The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed. The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised. That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble.

When we cheat, we presume the other has also done it. ...

When we manipulate, we are angry at the other for being the reason for us to behave that way...

When we try to make our debts bad or deferred only out of
cunningness, we stop talking to the other person presuming they will ask for the debt the moment we talk to them. We stop or end a fully benefitting relationship (for us only many times) with a view we can get away with our crookedness and the world will not know it. It's like a cat drinking milk with eyes closed and assuming no one is watching it....

When we lie we don't fool others we fall in our own eyes and hence sabse nazar bachake chalthe hai....

How our greed which forces us to cheat and thereby how we make heavy losses will be seen tomorrow.....

till then, let's do a honest check at our own short-comings and rise above them - not for some religious reason but to be able to sleep peacefully and to be finding respect for self in our own eyes...

may this strength be given by reiki to one and all.....

do re-birth meditation with cheating, greed and selfishness to see the new 'me'....

loans payment

How is giving of wealth done?

First and foremost, pay the loans. Deferred payments always stops us from making right financial decisions. Deferred payments (will pay later thought) will generate an energy that stops me from experiencing wealth in completeness. Cash or any other asset may be in your hands, but it wouldn’t have filled your heart. It can’t be used the right way. It’ll be used completely but for no purpose worth the name. It’ll always be an expense in life, never an investment. Even an investment made would turn out sour, useless, lost, abused or misused by a member known or unknown, held in legal litigations or become redundant or totally useless (shares going rock bottom price is one such eg.)

How to I tackle this issue?

Simple. Pay in toto – especially to persons to whom you owe. Institutional borrowings don’t come under this category because we are under that contract and also are paying interest and EMI as per the law. It is the personal loans/ credit that we take from people in our life that matters so much. Recent experience by our reiki channel just a day back is the classic eg. Of this issue. Just a thought that I should pay benefited her in getting the entire amount required by bsingh (see comments for explanation). Just give it a thought with regards to the implication of this Nature’s law.

That doesn’t mean I can say “let me receive from X and then THAT amount I’ll pay to her” and get away saying “but I didn’t receive from X so am not paying to her”. This is shear manipulation only and our cleverness can fool us to believe that we are good people but forced by so-called circumstances in not being able to pay the dues. But the Nature can’t be fooled and will act accordingly.

My intelligence would tell me that I am just postponing – but at the end of the day, I am just fooling myself. And the loss is also entirely mine only in the long run too.

One more thought that stops someone from giving or clearing the loans / debts is “oh, but she/he doesn’t need the money as she has enough” “Will pay later when my situation betters”. But that day takes longer to come than expected. Because, my situation is never going to be better than my expectation.” When I owe someone, I pay. How can I postpone with an assumption (even if valid based on the fact that the giver is pretty rich!) that she/he doesn’t require it? When I owe someone, I owe. So I need to pay. So, I pay today. My postponing nature – especially when I have cash and means talks about my cheating and manipulative nature and no explanation what so ever justifies one’s acts. If I owe SBI bank, Rs. 100/- then I pay. If I postpone paying, then I owe interest and surcharge too on it. Whenever I pay, I pay with interest and surcharge. Same applies to individual loans / credits too! I can’t tell SBI is a multi-crore bank and Rs.100/- is peanuts to it and hence I won’t / needn’t pay. Does this logic work in our benefit? Bank would send reminders till amount becomes 10000/- or so and then people to collect it. Same way, once I take credit from someone or owe someone, then I can’t say they don’t require now and get away from my responsibilities.

It reflects my asura quality that knows to take, take and take both things and advantage of the people who are helping me in my life and then cheating them of their money and dumping or breaking their trust in my if I follow this path. My anger which would be called as insult by me will only blind me from seeing my blunders and sinful actions. The loser is me all the way. What a pity! I work so hard to lose both people and good luck and in invoking bad events and people ditching me in my life. No doubt my near and dear are only such who cheat me all the way or the money I get in life (however much it is) going to drains most of the way.

There are so many such people and they are getting away with it. So will I ? Who has seen next life and karma that accrues to it?
Now you tell me why?
May His Grace descend on us to see through our own stupid and manipulative nature and give us strength to overcome this weakness of ours….

payments

Bad debts or deferred payments

This is one more aspect of the personality that immediately reflects on one’s well-being (FA only as we are dealing with that aspect only). Right from word GO we are dealing with theories of nature and karma and I hope we have understood that everything is a play of energies. The one Law of Nature that works on/in every issue is “What you give comes back to you multi-folded”. What we miss to see in this statement which is implied is that “What we GIVE only comes back. If we are not GIVING anything out, then we’ll not receive anything too!”. As beautifully put by someone “Tum ek paisa doge, who das lakh dega”.

Put other ways, it means GIVING is the cause that decides on what we RECEIVE. It also means we’ll not RECEIVE unless and until we GIVE. Understand this statement completely. Don’t understand it as per your convenience. That understanding may help you to postpone giving back your loans (both in kind and in cash), but it is delaying in happiness, satisfaction, FA in toto coming your way and stopping you from experiencing ASHTA AISHWARYAM in your life. That means I got “short term benefit but lost long term benefit” for many more years/ janmas to come.

Act or situation is just a reflection of your thought which is the energy generation point. This is most important statement to understand. Most commonly asked question is “Why can’t I have only UPS in financial journey / abundance always in life?” why should I experience lows too?

If you really – actually mean to get out of vicious circle of good and bad times with regards to finance or ashta aishwaryam, then you can’t do it any other way than following the principle of Nature in toto! That is learn to GIVE before wanting to RECEIVE.
If you want understanding, be understanding.
If you want peace, be peaceful.
If you want love, give love.
If you want respect, give respect.
If you want hatred, give hatred.
If you want smile, give smile.
If you want frown, give frown and
If you want wealth, give wealth.

It means – what you give only comes back to you.

What and how giving is done is something that needs to be thought about! Sit on it till I get back to you….

money..

Money…

We usually want ‘lots of money’. But, most of us don’t know the basic questions with regards to ‘money’ in our life. The basic questions that we need to address are:
Why we need money is a very important question to be answered?
How much money is required and for what purpose I need it?
What is the service I am ready to give in exchange for the money I wish to receive from the society?
Always remember, nothing comes free in life. You should be ready to work in exchange for the money that you wish to earn and enjoy.
How money is spent also determines the tilt of financial abundance in one’s life.
This aspect is usually not considered important by us. We relate financial abundance to only earning or having loads and loads of money. Financial abundance usually means being able to spend as and when and how I want without having to worry about from where it came and it’ll come tomorrow.

But, financial abundance FA is not that. Saint Kabir put it so beautifully when he said “sai itna deejiye jaake kutumb samaye, mein bhi bhukha na rahoon, sadhu na bhukha na rahoon”
Lord give me enough that I and my family don’t go to bed empty stomach and I’ve enough to give to the saint who stands at my door.

First and foremost, know how much I want. It never should be in comparative terms “I want to be richer than Anil”. Tomorrow, Anil’s property value comes down and has only Rs.1000/- and you have Rs.1116/-. Your wish in spite of being fulfilled – is not experienced as success by you.
Never compare with others.
Specify exactly how much and by when you want to earn that amount and in exchange for what service.
Money spent is the seed that determines tomorrow’s earnings. “Today, I’ll spent in alcohol, gambling, swindling etc but tomorrow I still should be earning well to blow up for these vices.” – if this is the view I reason I need money then be prepared to face the consequences of this act of yours too. Money is Lakshmi Devi – Mother can’t be abused and expected to shower her blessings on you. The way you spend shows the respect you have for the Mother. That is again reflected in your well-being – financially speaking!
Even lending money to relatives/friends who are going to abuse/ misuse is indirectly being the cause of their downfall. Even that karma accrues to us. We can’t use ‘charity’ when lending money to an alcoholic or a gambler. It is called being accomplice (partner in crime). So, we wouldn’t get ‘punya’ for this ‘charity’ (assumed one!) but would be sentenced as per our deed. People who use or lend money for such acts always ask “I am a good person who helps all, yet why do I suffer from financial losses always?” well, here is your answer.
Even as per IPC “Any person who knows about the crime or who helps in the execution of the crime is equally responsible and equally punishable under law”. The same rule applies to karma too!
think about ways we bring about financial pains in our life and correct it if you wish to be freed of this pain...

on comparison

Conversation with GOD

One more quality that hits hard on financial abundance is comparison with others...Never ever do that....
Never give up and never quit.
Today I decided to quit... I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality, Iwanted to quit my life...I went to the woods to have one last talk with GOD."GOD", I said."Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me..."Look around", GOD said."Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant andplentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit onthe bamboo."
GOD said."In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit."
"In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see. I would not quit."GOD said."Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant."
"But just 6months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it neededto survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
GOD said to me."Did you know, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots?"
"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don't compare yourself to others." GOD said."The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."
GOD said."Your time will come", GOD said to me."You will rise high"
"How high should I rise?" I asked."How high will the bamboo rise?" GOD asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned
"Yes." GOD said,"Give me glory by rising as high as you can.
"I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help you seethat GOD will never give up on you.GOD will never give up on you
"Life is not a problem to be solved, but a gift to be enjoyed"Conversation with GOD
The Moment i compare, always remember i am drawing with energies and with it comes their life situations...and then you complain that your wish is not being fulfilled...but it is. Only you are not aware of it...
For eg. if you wish your husband was like Salman Khan. you must have wished with regards to his looks. But the wish comes back fulfilled. And the husband becomes or is one who is so possessive that he beats you blue everytime you are smiling or talking to any other male...and you complain he is not understanding...but you only asked for it...
Next if i say I should be as or more rich than Anil, he will lose all his property and i will end up with Rs.1000/- in my pocket..the wish is fulfilled. Yet my sorrows and unfulfilment doesn't ....
So ask what you want specifically...not in comparitive terms...
eg: my spouse should be loving, earning Rs.100000/-, good looking etc
my bank balance should be Rs. 10000/- by X date etc...etc...
Stop using comparitive terms....and realize your real worth...YOU are unique in this world and no body can be like you even in millions of years to come...realize that and work towards your wishes and dreams..
Do re-birth meditation with confusion, jealousy and lack of clarity to be able to see clearly what you wish to have in life...
all the best for it....

on wealth..

It all depends on what money means to us.
How do I bring both Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Narayana into my life and home? Simple. By making the right shift in my priorities. Our assets may increase but we end up being poor rich people if we are in the category of persons who are “loving things of life and using people”. We would end up being wealthy and successful not to forget satisfied if we are “using things and loving people.” Think about it!

A woman came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find her 5-year old son waiting for her at the door.
SON: 'Mummy, may I ask you a question?'
MUM: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the woman.
SON: 'Mummy, how much do you make an hour?'
MUM: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the womansaid angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
MUM: 'If you must know, I make $20 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: "Mummy, may I please borrow $5?"
The mother was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door..
The woman sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the woman had calmed down , and started to think:Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $5 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The woman went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' She asked.
'No Mummy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the woman. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $5 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you Mummy!' he yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The woman saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the mother grumbled. 'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Mummy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The mother was crushed. She put his arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness.
It's just a short reminder to all who are working so hard in life. We must not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $20 worth of your time with someone you love.

Always remember comforts and riches are for the people in our life. Our life is not to accumulate the riches at the cost of losing out on people in our lives. Let us be little more AWARE and sensible as we are amassing riches of life…

on gratitude...

…contd..

Gratitude says I am validating all that I am receiving and not just looking at things, I haven’t received yet. We are not turning a blind eye to our goals or things we wish to own/ experience. We are aware of our needs and desires and working towards its fulfillment. While you are working towards your fulfillment of desires – where is the necessity to feel empty? You are complete right this moment you can be blissful and peaceful right this moment. Possession /non-possession of things/ situations can not fulfill/ empty you. This awareness and the paradigm shift brings about gratitude in us.

Gratitude for
· help /money received though it be loan from someone received in times of need.
· Free classes / counseling / help/ suggestions received in life.
· Healings received many times unasked and unknown from even unknown persons
· For the abundance called nature which is so beautiful and varied in forms and hues of life
· For the miracle called the body, mind and intellect
· For the abundance of relation-ships in life
· For the two square meals a day, even for safe drinking water
· For having a roof above our head
· For having a friend /person who is ready to listen to all my woes whenever I call that person
· For the sun to rise and set at its accorded time

We can go on….but still the list wouldn’t be complete..

Gratitude brings about the awareness that I am already receiving more than I deserve, but I wish to experience something that I don’t have and am willing to work towards materialization of my desires.

I request all to come out with areas where we can develop our gratitude. Till I jot down yours, I go to write tomorrow’s blog….if I don’t find any posts then I presume you never give it a thought…

On ingratitude!

On Ingratitude!

Gratitude is the back-bone of abundance – be it any abundance – more so for the financial. First let me see how or what acts show- my lack of gratitude! Ingratitude is the main reason for mis-management of finance and thereby bringing about financial abundance in life.

Mother Lakshmi has two vahans – vehicles to travel. One being Owl and the other Garuda. When she enters our life on Owl, she makes a fool of us – ullu – and walks out of our life too that way! Not every rich person has right attitudes, then why attitude is considered so important for a sadhak? Well, here goes the answer. Just the way he earns, his spending is also found senseless and useless even to himself in many ways. When money is earned by wrong ways, then Mother Lakshmi is said to be entering our lives sitting on Owl and hence she brings only sukkh – only comforts and there is no samridhdhi and also no shanthi.

When Mother Lakshmi comes sitting on the Garuda, she enters our lives with Lord Narayana sitting with her. She represents sukh – comforts and he represents shanthi & samridhdhi i.e., character and also wealth. When Financial abundance is uttered by a sadhak and that too with sadhan, then we are talking of Goddess of Wealth coming into our lives with her consort Lord Narayana.

Now, the question is what are the symptoms that point out my ingratitude?
· Talking ill of against person/ system / institution / nation which supports us and also benefits us. Just for sustaining us, we should have gratitude! Over and above that, it supports us and feeds and benefits us. But, we are ever so cribbing, complaining, talking lowly about the person / system / institution etc that’s given us so much.
· One more statement that surprises me is when people get job / loan / money to run their families / life through Reiki yet complain that Reiki doesn’t give financial abundance in their life. Are you AWARE of the level of ingratitude that you have?
· Calling / SMS when in need and not calling / Sms once the healing is complete. Dukh mein sumiran sab karein, sukkh mein karein na koi, jo sukkh mein sumiran karein, tho dukkh kahe ko hoi?
Every one remembers while in need/ pain, but hardly anyone remembers / calls to say thanks once relieved of it. If people can remember even in good times, then why would be there any pain at all in life?
· Calling for an enquiry regarding Vaasthu etc and not calling in say if house is purchased / shifted etc….

These instances are only examples and not the be-all of ingratitude. Similar must be the fashion we deal with others in our life. We would be taking others also for granted in the same way.

Ingratitude can be negated with Gratitude only. What Gratitude is and what it is not will be discussed tomorrow. But, before that please come out with instances that talk of ingratitude especially so with regards to the financial aspect. Till you come out with your examples, I go to write tomorrow’s blog….

..........continued

A really brave person never goes around stating he is brave.
A really good person never talks about his goodness.
A really beautiful never flatter their own beauty.
One who is not brave only talks about his cowardice.
A real bhaktha never shouts from roof-top that he is one. A true devotee just loves, never brags about his devotion or mode of devotion.

Seva generates an awareness that there is abundance that I’ve received without being eligible to receive that much. This knowledge brings humility and a sense of gratitude that wanting in expression comes out as an act of service-seva.

It works on the “aham” that’s always saying “I am doing, giving, good etc” and thereby healing starts.

It is a natural act of love. It is an expression of Love. It is not a marketing tool of my goodness. It is not in the “ACT” but in the “BHAVA” feeling behind the ‘Act’ that seva is expressed.

Let’s just take one issue per day…because our ego is so smart to make us believe that this topic doesn’t apply to me….because examples given may not be applicable to me… they are just the indications not the ‘all-that-is’ of ‘seva’…

If you are an honest person, then honestly look within and drop this manipulative character to experience more abundance in your life….just as I am going to do for myself…

We usually assume that financial aspect is a separate aspect of our personality and life. But, it is not so. Financial healing and abundance, both are integral part of what we have created and what we are. This way, financial abundance is reflection of our own karma. If that be so, what are the characteristics, attitudes, belief systems and thoughts that affect our financial abundance?

a) Seva : Most easiest to do and get benefited; but most misused and abused word and deed! Let’s find out what Seva is not first : Any Act that is done with the thought “If I do service here, I am only benefited!” The moment this thought crosses the mind; it is not Seva but the person is operating out of greed. Greed is like an ‘empty well’ which never gets filled however much you put into it.
“The world has enough to fulfill every man’s need; but the entire world is not enough to cater to one man’s greed” – M.K.Gandhi.
So, true!
The basis of Seva should be self-less-ness. But, this thought negates the very basis of Seva. So, karke bhi nahi kiya – so inspite of doing, it’s not done! Seva doesn’t look at the benefits. It is not ‘results oriented’. It is a reminder to self and a way of expressing gratitude for having already received lots from the person/ God to whom you say you wish to do ‘Seva’!

How it’s abused?

Many people use it most frequently trying to fool themselves/ others into believing that they have gratitude. It’s a proof, they use ‘seva’ for every work they are supposed to do. Let me explain with a situation. A person ‘X’ having received a lot from Reiki ‘says’ (just says doesn’t mean!) they wish to do ‘seva’ so will say they wish to come for repeat classes / reiki meet et like and do seva. With this statement, they take few duties to perform. But, actually boss around when performing that duty putting on airs of authority on all and sundry and giving an impression that they are the Be-All of the meet/ class. They wish to exert their ‘control’ actually and just use word ‘Seva’ and take an opportunity to perform duties with the same intention.

They take decisions on others behalf and make statements on their own.

Seva sub-dues one’s ego and doesn’t fan it. Seva doesn’t bloat one’s personality to shout, control or manipulate the finances or any resource for their benefits only.

Same is the case, when people do any ‘Seva’ at any homams/ puja/ temples / ashrams. They want to be recognized as the in-charge of the whole proceedings.

As rightly said : “anni unna vistari anigi manigi untundi, emi leni vistari egiri egiri paduthundi”. A plaintain leaf that is filled stays still, but an empty one floats from here to there.

-yes, empty vessels do make much noise!

So, stop manipulating and start living honestly. Don’t use the word ‘seva’.

will continue the rest tomorrow................
