The man and the frogs
After retirement, a man decided to spend his life peacefully and so
bought himself a house in the countryside. Atlast, he could lead a peaceful life
– he thought!
That night he couldn’t sleep a wink. He was totally disturbed by the
croaking of frogs. Morning he went around his property to see where the sound
came from. He found a small pond just beside his land. He knew that the frogs
made that pond their home. The thought since he was not used to this silence,
the sound of frogs disturbed him yester night. But today he would know where the
wound came from and hence would be able to sleep peacefully. But it was not so.
Even today the sounds drove him crazy. Day after day he suffered sleepless
night. One day he decided it was enough and so sent a word in the village that
he would pay Rs.50/- for every frog that anyone caught from that pond. Next day
many lads from the village turned up. One body dived into the pond, caught two
frogs and came out. Later, all boys tried their luck but none found any frog in
the pond. The old man couldn’t believe that there were only two frogs in that
pond that made so much of noise. That night he went to sleep peacefully –
finally! He got it for just Rs.100/-. He was happy, content and peaceful.
