Dassera
(What
is the importance of this tradition is understood by reading the related posts
given link in the previous post)
Why
is it observed during this ‘particular time of the year’?
This
time of the year ‘God’ of death – Yama’ is most powerful and works through
various ‘odd mechanisms’ to ‘reach his target’ so to say (No, don’t think he
has one. It was just a joke or lighter way of puttingit!)
So,
we notice odd accidents happening all around and natural calamities of strange
types happen. To not to get caught in this ‘death game’, our ‘seers’ (those who
could ‘SEE’ through time and space) programmed this tradition to make our lives
centre around ‘Mother Shakthi’ these ten days. Any child when he just shouts
‘ma’ his mother comes running and sees to his requirements. So imagine what
‘Mother of all mothers’ would do if we sit in contemplation of her during these
‘dark days’! She comes running and sees to his requirements. So imagine what
‘Mother of all mothers’ would do if we sit in contemplation of her during these
‘dark days’! She comes to our rescue and saves us from the ‘death’. Now, though
we may contemplate or call her fearing physical death but if our meditation is
right, intent pure and right, she would rescue not just from physical death but
from the ‘cycle of life and death’.
So,
how to benefit most during this period?
Simple!
As a reiki channel whatever healing techniques you have learnt, do it sincerely
and as many as you can, these ten days. Well, this period extends till December
(remember Chaturmas), so tighten your seat belts and so as much reiki as
possible. Here I don’t count ‘intention reiki’ as sadhan. Sadhan includes only
pranayamam, all types of meditations, hands-on and homam.
How
it benefits?
As
already told, it gives protection against any ‘sudden untoward incidents’
happening in life.
Secondly,
if done with pure intent it can help us to outgrow our demons within.
Thirdly,
it helps us to develop such of qualities which are ‘pre-requisite’ to being
eligible to receive knowledge and grace of Mother.
