Me, My Guru - On essence! - Bhagavatam!
“Open your
mouth Krishna” she demanded and pushed her fingers against cheeks in such a way
that he had to open his mouth wide-open. Eyes that were filled with anger met
with the rarest of sights. She saw inside his mouth the entire Universe. All
that she knew existed in this world and the other was found in ‘his mouth’ -
Celestials, trees, animals, sages and what not. The sight frightened her. What
was her child? Fright took over her senses. And then with his ‘yogamaya’ he
made her forget all that she had seen and then she became the usual mother
to him, shouting at him, spanking him and scolding him. The ‘Lord’ enjoyed the
‘love of the mother’ like never before” she finished the story. It sounded so
real. We weren’t listening to it. We saw it with our ‘ears’. She actually had
transported us to that place. I presumed that this feeling and experience was
same for all! It ought to be. That good was her explanation.
She
continued breaking through my thoughts “Sage Sukhadev told this story to
Parikshit. King Parikshit wondered “Why did Krishna show that rare ‘darshan’
and then erase it from her memory?” for which the Sage replied “Lord out of his
immense love and grace can bestow such ‘darshan’ or ‘sightings’ of ‘His
Divinity’ at his own will on anyone whom he thinks befits such a ‘darshan’
(vision). But it is not within the ‘digestible limits’ of ordinary bhakthas or
devotees to ‘see, understand and take that sight. So, to avoid the discomfort
experienced by them he chooses to withdraw the knowledge of such darshan”.
She
continued with her explanation “Is it not the ‘love and humility’ of Lord to
hide His greatness just to receive the love of His mother Yashoda – the motherly
way.
Normally,
people flaunt the normal things that they do as ‘herculean tasks’ to picture
themselves as ‘great, good and hard working person’. Only a divine person
underplays his part.
Such ‘visions’
are certainly the reward of ‘past punya karma’ (good deeds). But though we
receive what we deserve, sometimes we are not capable enough to handle it. So,
out of love ‘He’ either postpones us from receiving what we deserve till we actually
become eligible enough to handle it or gives us what we asked for (in some distant past) and at the same time takes it away even more quickly before it harms us
in any way.
“Denial is
also a form of love” that is if you
can see it of course!
Even if
you don’t see it, it is still love; just you wouldn’t validate it, see it,
cherish it and know it! That’s all!
“What do
you mean by ‘digestible limits’ of ordinary bhakthas?” asked someone.
“Once, at
the end of ‘agnathavas of Pandavas’ (living in incognito) when Lord Krishna
goes to (Royal court) ‘sabha’ of Dhritarashtra as a Royal Emissary ‘dooth’ for
peace talk, Duryodhan in his folly commands his army to ‘arrest’ ‘Kirhsna’. Then
he shows ‘His Viswaroopam’ – His Divine form to all present there. Only Vidur,
Dronacharya, Kripacharya and Bhisma are able to see that ‘sight’. Hearing the
commotion, Dhritarashtra pleads Lord to give him eyes to see ‘His Divine Form’.
Out of grace, Krishan bestows Dhritarashtra with eyes and be beholds the Divine
form of the lord. After seeing the form to his hearts’ content, he pleads
Krishna to take away his sight as he doesn’t want to see this world filled with
filth of sin and Lord fulfils his wish and withdraws his sight.

# on love, Bhagavatam, on relationships, Me, My Guru, karma, destiny, worthy of our desire, pandavas, ma Yashoda, maya,
Points to understand:
- Even denial is a form of love.
- When we seek something which we are not capable of handling, He gives out of grace and then takes it away from us before we harm ourselves with our "desire" or its "fulfillment".
- It is better we become eligible to desire and then seek. That way, we can both have it and then cherish and enjoy it.
- Worthiness comes with healing self of our karmas with various techniques.
- Worthiness comes with healing, sadhan and by tapas.
