Ask and it shall be given - Me, My Guru

Contd......

Ask and it shall be given - Me, My Guru

It was at this point that our Guruji joined us. She started her
explanation “You are where you are because of who you are! Once a saint went to palace to meet the king but was stopped at palace gates by palace guards. He pleaded and had to wait quite some time before they were convinced and went in to intimate his arrival to the supervisor. He was busy in his daily duties and took his time to enquire his details and then took him to the Minister. To both the guard and the supervisor the saint said “You are where you are because of who you are”. Hearing about the yogi, Minister asked him to be brought to his presence immediately and duly enquired about him. To him saint said “You are where you are because of who you are”. The minister intimatd about him to the king and the king leaving all his work came rushing to meet the saint and to him again saint said “You are where you are because of who you are”.”  Having said this story she left.

We got our chance to discuss and we realized that each person was
in the ‘post’ as deserved by his attitude.   We ‘draw’ people, situations and blessings depending on who we were, not on what we wanted. Deserve and then desire and it’ll be yours! Else you need to heal enough to increase your worthiness enough to become eligible to receive the object of your desire. And before that you’ll meet people and situations depending upon what you have created earlier with what you are! So, face it with equipoise to heal that karma! Because if we crib again as we face these situations we’ll re-create them again in future.

Hello, I am GOD speaking...........

Hello friends,

You all seem to have done a good job of thanking God the right and heartfelt way. He called me up yesterday, so I grabbed the opportunity to ask few other questions that’s always bombarded at me. Here’s the chat that followed. I am putting it up for you to see how it went about……

GOD: Hello. Did you call me?

Me: Called you? No... Who is this?

GOD: This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.

Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

GOD: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Me: Don't know. But I can't find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

GOD: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

GOD: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

GOD: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Me: Why are we then constantly unhappy?

GOD: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy.

Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

GOD: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.

GOD: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

GOD: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?

GOD: Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can't we be free from problems?

GOD: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading..

GOD: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

GOD: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

GOD: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?

GOD: When they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.

Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I can't get the answer.

GOD: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?

GOD: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

GOD: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
(Please read the above line with full understanding. ......... .It has got an indepth meaning )

Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.

GOD: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me.. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

NEVER GIVE ANYONE THE AUTHORITY TO HURT YOU OR MAKE U SAD HAPPINESS IS NOT WHAT YOU DO OR HOW YOU DO IT IT'S THE WAY YOU THINK SO THINK HAPPY, STAY HAPPY KEEP SMILING!

SITUATIONS IN YOUR LIFE ARE MY GIFT TO YOU.....
HOW YOU DEAL AND LIVE WITH THEM IS YOUR GIFT TO ME !!!!

AND I LIKE TO RECEIVE MY GIFTS WRAPPED UP WITH A SMILE FROM THE GIVER…….

This conversation with God left me wondering if I was living my life happily or was I packaging it with grumbling and complaints every day of my life….

As I do the thinking and little (or rather lots of) revamping of my emotions with regards to the situations of my life, I suggest you to go on the similar tour of self-enquiry………

As it needs few hours to do the needful, I sign off for now,

Keep smiling (as told by GOD!!!), be happy till we meet again

And the First Flip happened....

PS: This is a bit longer post. You can copy it on to the desktop and read it as post for two days.....there will be no post tomorrow....

The How?

We are all Spiritual beings who have come to experience human experiences. But, unfortunately or fortunately we have come to believe that we are human beings who have to work to have spiritual experiences.

Now, exactly what caused this shift? And the reasons mainly are three:

  1. Our forgetfulness that we are Divine who have come to learn a lesson through an experience. This is what is classically called as “Maya”.
  2. Our sense of false separateness. The wrong belief system that says we are all different from one another and we need to fight with and against each other and also to win over others to prove to ourselves that we are successful and powerful.
  3. The identification that we develop with the role we don to play and learn our lesson which is termed as ego.

Our forgetfulness that we are Divine was mainly necessary to make us learn our lesson correctly and to experience it to the most. Like any seasoned actor would tell you that when the character goes under their skin, they live, breathe and sleep the character till they complete playing that role. Only such performances are remembered as classics. During that shot the actor becomes the role. This blending gives the validity to the role that the actor plays.

But, at the same time the actor should remember that He is not the character he is playing for him not to be disturbed by the role he/she is playing. Sometimes, this forgetfulness plays havoc. The actor comes to think himself to be larger than real and behaves so in the public too. That’s when they start messing up their lives. Such of actors who know the fame, love and the hatred for the character is for the character they played only and not to them develop a sense of balance both in their work and life. Their outlook of themselves and their profession is totally different.

This identification with the character that we play is what is called as Ego. The Truth is everyone and everything is the manifestation of the same Divine. But the name and form create an illusion that we are all different from one another. Ego is not arrogance. Identification of my self with anything apart from my Divine nature is ego. The day is remember “Aham Brahmasmi” “I am that I am” I shall identify with one and all as myself. Till then, I presume I a different from others.

And the feel, thought and belief of separatedness comes from ignorance – because we don’t know The Truth! And the Truth is :

When he Himself reveals, Himself, Brahma brings into manifestation That which can never be seen.
As the seed is in the plant, as the shade is in the tree, as the void is in the sky, as infinite forms are in the void –
So from beyond the Infinite, the Infinite comes; and from the Infinite the finite extends.
The creature is in Brahma, and Brahma is in the creature; they are every distinct yet ever united.
He Himself is the tree, the seed and the germ.
He Himself is the flower, the fruit and the shade.
He Himself is the sun, the light and the lighted.
He Himself is the Brahma, creature and Maya.
He is the breath, the word and the meaning.
He Himself is the limit and the limiteless and beyond both the limited and the unlimited
The Supreme Soul is seen within the soul,
The Point is seen within the Supreme Soul,
And within the point, the reflection is seen again.
    - Kabir

The identification that I make anything apart from the Truth is what is classically terms as ‘aham’ – ego. What all do I identify with?
    a) My body
    b) My thoughts
    c) My feelings
    d) My emotions – pain, hurt, frustration, attachment, anger, worry etc.
    e) My name and fame
    f) My possessions
    ….and the list goes on…

But, are these not mine? Of course! They are. As you yourself said now ‘They are yours. You are not Them.’
Body is yours but you are not the body.
Mind is yours but you are not the mind.
Thoughts are yours but you are not the thought.
Feelings are yours but you are not the feelings.
Not clear yet. Donkey is yours but you are not the donkey! Just the way, they are yours but you are not them. You possess them. You can experience them. You can experience through them. No problem till then.

But the problem starts when you are possessed by them. You are used by them. You become them. Where is you? This shift happens gradually with every experience that we have and the impression we chose to carry through such of experiences..

Every time, I have an experience I more or less carry an impression from that experience which is termed as psychic impressions.

Suppose I plan to drink hot milk at 9 pm on Tuesday. I let the milk boil on the gas and start watching TV. At 9.30pm I remember that the milk is boiling. I rush, put if off and pour some into the glass. Phone rings and I take the call. I am lost in the talk I had over phone. I just sip the hot milk and burn my tongue. I’ll carry a psychic impression from that experience that :
Ø Hot milk doesn’t suit me or will always burn me (So, my dislike for Hot Milk starts. I end up saying, I don’t like hot milk)
Ø Night time I always get burnt.
    Ø Tuesdays I shouldn’t start any work.
Ø Whenever I talk to that person over phone, immediately after that I hurt myself. I am sure that person is not good for me and my health.
Ø So and so forth….when the fact was just that because it was hot and I didn’t blow it to become cold I burnt my tongue.

These psychic impressions over the period of time when happens repeatedly, I develop a belief system. Belief system becomes my habit. Habits are the basis of character. Character determines the Fate and where did the Fate start? All with the psychic impression which is nothing but a thought which has left behind an impression. And we presumed all along that the Fate is written by some Old man sitting high up in the sky in the language unknown to us! So, I am the creator of my fate. Ke sera sera. As you think, you shall be, shall be! What you think is what is going to come back as an event tomorrow in your life.

World is nothing but the figment of your imagination! And what an imagination we have!

How the ego uses the mind game to create this world within and outside is very important for us to know. Or May I say only thing worth knowing! And this knowing happens by Looking within. Know thyself. First, let’s start by looking at our thoughts. Not by identifying with them. Just by looking at them. Just by being aware of them. This is what is starting point of looking within.

With this Awareness start looking within from now onwards…

Will get back by the time you get to practice it a bit……

Monk and the scorpion – Me, My Guru

Monk and the scorpion – Me, My Guru

Our Guru is always asking us to forgive, move on in relationship. She is always talking about being a bigger person. Her go to attitude of late seems to be selflessness. She said only ‘selflessness’ is the foundation on which relationship rested. We argued stating other person in the relationship being arrogant, selfish, irresponsible and hurtful. We gave her various incidents to prove our point. We wanted her to validate our frustration, irritation, anger and even hatred for the person who we considered responsible for our suffering. But she held her ground. She said “unless we learn to be selfless and accepting the flaw of the other, we can’t in ‘reality’ have affection for the other. No love or affection can exist where condition is!”

We begged to differ. She didn’t argue. She didn’t prove us wrong. She didn’t chide us. She simply acknowledged our anger and reason, smiled and gave us this story instead.

Some of us loved her stories but hated her point. We wished her to see our point and come over to our side of existence and accept the ‘facts’ that we believed in.

“In a certain village was a stream. In that stream a monk got down to take bath. It was early in the morning. And as was the custom in India (at least in good old days) after taking bath, monk took water in his palms to give ‘tarpanam*’ to Sun God.

Contd....

*tarpanam – it is an offering of water as a gesture of gratitude.

# monk and the scorpion story, story on forgiveness, being self, character, helping and caring, being human,

also read suggested : https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=it+is+indeed+difficult+for+all+work

read the given link and especially the couplet part " bas ke dushwaar..." - it clearly states that we are not humans just because we are clothed in this body of humans. We got the body - good. But we should claim our being 'human' by living our 'humane' character....agreed it is not easy - nay very difficult most of the times thanks to wonderful people in our lives - but who is called a 'hero' for living a 'easy life'? Isn't 'hero' one who wins over all the obstacles, challenges and problems in his life? Is not hero one who comes out victorious over the evil in his life - which is always larger than life for any one? If I can't be a hero even in my 'life story' then what is the purpose of playing this role day in and day out? I have a part to play, why not play the part of a 'super hero' in my life story? No one can stop us from being a super hero - except of course ourselves! May you break through your fear and limited view of your capabilities and live your life to your fullest potential!

Questions addressed and points to be understood :

  • Why should we help people who are selfish and mean to us?
  • Why go to protect and care for others in our life?
  • It is very easy to be good to people who are useful to you.
  • It is easy to be good to people who are good to you.
  • The challenge is to be good to people who are bad to you. Not because of fear of some God or Reiki. Not because you will be burnt in hell. But because you want to experience happiness and affection in life.
  • As long as you carry hatred for any one in your heart, the energy that your heart generates is that of vengeance, anger and resentment.
  • We know with repetition that we receive what we generate. So, what do you think you are going to get?
  • Look at what you are receiving right now and the answer is right in front of you.
  • If you are not comfortable with what you receive then you need to change what you are generating and see if there is a difference.
  • You owe yourself peace of mind! You should be good to self! You owe it to yourself to act wisely so that you receive that which is painless to you. So be selfless! Be giving! Be giving especially to those who hurt you. They don't know what they are doing. Be sensible and forgive. Bless them and see the 'miracle' happen.

M, Me Guru - On quitting!

...contd....

“Shall we check into spiritual area?” she asked returning to her seat. But now, respect for her increased! She was the same one. It’s just that we were seeing her in new light.

“The understanding of a person, respect and love for a person, gauging and judging a person and knowing him depended totally on the data available, your processing of the same, your perception and the angle you selected to view that data from and since all these were variable and unreliable, our feelings and emotions though genuine were not ‘Right’. So, don’t take decisions based on your feelings. They would go wrong” these were her words repeated like umpteen times. Today, when we discussed ‘her’ case, we saw ‘her’ in new light and also understood her words differently. But her explanation did not let us venture further in these thoughts.

“In spiritual area, the results are far in between and you hardly know the progress. Not because it is not there but because we do so little, and in this area, lots of work gives ‘little results’. But usually our patience gives way or boredom sets in. So it is rightly said “that out of millions only thousands tread the path of sadhan and in that are thousands of drop-outs and only hundred or two remain to continue for long. Again of them only handful are working with love for God and hence just a handful experience God. But in this field ‘Don’t quit’ come what may. Do sadhan regularly. It may be for ½ an hour but do daily. Over and above that you would do for few days/months depending upon your life situations. But you decide basic sadhan time and do it daily. It’s like brushing your teeth, eating or breathing. You can’t afford to skip breathing if you wish to live.  Same should be the case with sadhan. And again, sadhan doesn’t mean ‘I draw symbol regularly madam or I tell Reiki/Reiki Guruji madam or I think about you Guruji’. They don’t count as ‘sadhan’.

If after doing a ‘technique’ you are more agitated then, if your master can’t find a solution or explain and simply states ‘your karma is getting healed’ or such standard dialogue discontinue healing. Healing should make you feel light. If after doing ‘yoga’ or exercise you feel ‘stiff’ and lazy, it means you are doing it wrong! So, look out for such signs. If you are becoming more greedy, desiring more then re-check the ‘techniques’ you are doing or following. May be you are doing it or were taught wrong. Sadhan should take you towards calmness and peace, if not......when you do yoga, you should become healthy not fall sick often. If such a thing happens you are breathing wrong or in wrong place or wrong way. Similarly, you are doing few ‘asans’ – postures wrong. So it’s time to correct that but for that your master should know the ‘right technique’ and should be able to know where you are going wrong and guide accordingly.

Getting up at 3am and meditating is told by one and all. Yet only few do it. Those who do it for years don’t find any results (well, I don’t know what results they are looking for in the first place! - For I do it for the sheer joy of doing!). But forget about me. When they get up daily and do, they later complain ‘nothing’s happening.’ So getting bored! DON’T QUIT then. These are techniques which may not give results now but will have cumulative effect. Keep doing.

But above all ‘to quit or not to’ in a given situation calls for ‘clarity of thought’ and that takes years of sadhan to get our ‘seeing ability right’. So keep working on it. In the meantime do Reiki, do your part and be detached from results and you’ll be guided pleasantly by Reiki, provided you don’t condition it with your desire. Sometimes, answers to our questions can be ‘No’. But even that is guidance. We don’t ‘listen’ to it because we ‘want’ to hear ‘yes’. So work on expectations, conditions desire and lust and ego and clarity of thought would come bye and by.

Get your doubts if any in next class and I’ll explain then”, so saying she left us for the day.  We all just stayed back for sometime to discuss everything that was bombarded at us. To leave or not to was still a question we didn’t know to answer immediately. Logical mind said “class is over, get out” but heart wanted to linger in that space for some more time...

By the time we left we were still undecided..........

you are lions not sheep!

…contd….

Now, before going further, let me explain the common allegation ‘madam, you never give straight answers. Why can’t you just say ‘yes’ or no’? Because you don’t want and won’t take it!

Suppose you ask me a simple question ‘should I marry this person though my parents are against it? And if I say ‘yes’ you would immediately say ‘but what about my parents? I don’t want to hurt them and I can’t loose them too! Please tell me what to do. Please guide me.’

Then I say ‘forget the boy and marry the one your family chooses’ you immediately say ‘no. I can’t forget him. I’ll never marry anyone else!’ so, now tell me will my simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ solve your query. So, instead of saying what you ought to do, I explain what’s bothering you, what happens if you marry as per your choice or as per parents choice. I explain the benefits and loses in both the scenario and show you where your fear comes from. Then when you are shown the stakes and the consequences, you know what to do. You do it with conviction and are happy (atleast while taking decisions) and that is important.

Here, I said openly tell your Guru’s name and you came up with so many reasons and justification but didn’t follow it. Why? Because, humans by nature are not made to be ‘sheep following a shepherd blindly’. As much as few religions preach it, it is not practical. We can’t blindly follow a set or rules – be it given by family, master, kith or kin or society. We are given ‘freewill’ to choose by God and it is sin not to use it correctly. We are not using it rightly because of ignorance. We get caught in the situation and become emotional. We become emotionally blinded and hence can’t see the situation objectively. When an outsider gives you an insight of the same situation objectively and without any personal agenda, you know the pros and cons of doing an act and then you can decide how to act accordingly then. But remember, you decide. I can show the path, but walk you should. You are not dogs to be trained to behave in a certain way. You are divine souls who’ve right to experience the life the way you choose. Yes, you may choose the pain and suffering but that doesn’t negate your right to choose your experience and learning process. No one can question it or stop it. My job here is to tell or show the consequences of various choices that you make. Show you various possibilities with regards to your response to a situation, to expressing yourself and to act in accordance with your higher self.

Once you have your various options and their affect on you, your journey, I am sure it must be easier for you to take the call.

So, if you see through all the posts, the topics covered may be many but the common thread is just one – to help you see through the ignorance and win over your fear and there by realize that ‘you are the Divine Soul and to Act accordingly!’ (ofcourse, this doesn’t apply to topics of cosmology though. Except that all other topics come under this category and serve this one purpose only!)

To sum up, all our emotions and attitudes are interlinked and hence any attitude that comes to my notice through your comments, questions etc I immediately will notice and explain about it so that you work on it, overcome it and finally realize your potential – your Divinity. Remember, I am not interested in your acts, I am looking at the intent behind the act and ask you to sit in Sadhan. So do re-birth with ingratitude, fear of expression to overcome your fear.

So, please read once again all these posts regarding this topic and if any doubts, please come out with them now….it’s better to ask and to know. That way chances of you wanting to heal them is more.

Sadhan for this week

Sadhan for this week

Starting tomorrow, let’s do ‘homam’ without fail twice a day i.e., on 11th, 12th and 13th November.

Those who are regularly doing homam – just be with your regular sadhan. It shouldn’t mean anything ‘extra’ for you! Kudos for that! Celebrate that! And keep being regular in doing homam! Bless all those who are regulars in doing homam!

Those who don’t do homam regularly, well this is especially difficult for them. All the best for you! The entire crowd is doing it with you – see that, imagine that and that by itself can be reason and inspiration enough to do this!

Those who already have come up with multiple reasons for not being able to do – spare your breathe! Don’t waste it on ‘justifying your inability’. Don’t explain!

Contd.....

# sadhan and its effect, regularity of sadhan, divine and asuric qualities, character and destiny, destiny, attitudes, choices and their effect, you are where you are because of who you are....

Purpose of giving

…contd….

1.      Highest of all giving is the giving away of knowledge of self – of Brahman. It’s the esoteric knowledge and very few are capable of giving. So don’t go there unless you’re well equipped in this field. Then how to do this ‘danam’ when I myself am ignorant of this knowledge? Simple! Facilitate in arranging of such satsangs. Arrange for such group meetings etc. Easiest is to introduce them to your Guru, Reiki or such of avenues which will give them know-how of their ‘soul consciousness’.

Yes, agreed I am grateful and am doing charity, but what’s the benefit I receive?

1.      Emotional satisfaction – you donate something on your birthday and then compare the happiness of partying with donating. I need not explain then. Do it today as ‘Trial run’ and feel the difference. Give just 5 packets of food and notice how your feel.

2.      We want so many things yet feel we have been denied of it. And the ‘Law of Karma’ states you didn’t deserve it. You are not worthy of it. What is the worthiness and how to increase it? This law simply means you didn’t give. You receive what you give.

So, by giving what you wish to receive you increase your worthiness. This is what is called as ‘Punya karma’ in spiritual language. In short by not giving much, you are not receiving enough and by giving more you receive more. But I already have everything that I need, so I need not donate, right?

Wrong. Yesterday’s good deeds have given you good and satisfying life today. But what about tomorrow? Your needs will still be the same. So, give more today as you already have enough to share to secure your future.

3.      This give and take philosophy and reason should be at the start of your donation but not throughout your life. If you are in sadhan regularly and working and checking on your attitudes, this platform from which you started to give changes. You no longer feel happy because you feel ‘great’ giving. You give because you have to. You slowly start living. “Do your karma but be detached’. You slowly loose the sense of doership over the period of time and hence no longer talk about giving away Rs.100 or Rs.500 to others. You give and forget. Your left hand will not know what your right hand has given. You grow as a person.

4.      Next, comes on understanding that there is no ‘you’ to associate the act with yourself. You no longer desire benefits of this ‘good act’ – be it a tag of being ‘a good person doing charity’ or a benefit of receiving goodies by way of luck or by way of reaping benefits of karma done. The one who gave you is Him and what He gave, part of it you gave to Him only. Because, the receiver though a begger is His manifestation only. So, He gives Himself. Where are you? Since, you didn’t exist in that act, you disown the fruits of this act totally. This state heals your karma beautifully. Beautiful because you stop reaping benefits of both good and bad karma and hence are existing in a state where you need to face the karma of past deeds only. Once exhausted, for not having created newer ones with the present karma or act you become ‘free’. You get ‘Moksha’ (liberated). Negating all karmas is the only key to reach that state of perfection. And this is the basis of ‘karma yoga’ – that a man can become free through his work and not be bound by it.

...contd.....
