No man left behind - on Sadhan!

No man left behind - on Sadhan!

Further to  https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=no+man+left+behind+-+on+sadhan here are few more words and suggestions.....

Dassera is starting tomorrow and hence most of you would be having more time in hand - possibly!? It being festival week, work is less in most of the organizations. Some institutions like educational may even have holidays declared for them......So, this is with regard to this possibility........

For those who haven't completed 108 japam yet : The extra free time if you have got because of the above said reason, please use it to complete the said 108 japam target allocating more time for the same in these few days....jap, tap, sadhan done during any of our festival days increases its effect and benefit multifolded....so put these days to good use...

It is not needed that we do only POOJA during these festive days - even jap and tap done as sadhan is equally - no, in fact more beneficial than any other ritual followed.....

Also remember that others are waiting for you to complete the said sadhan so that they can move on with the new one....people are waiting for you, working extra with you and cheering you - is it not your duty too to reciprocate by feeling obligated to return their affection and concern by working more towards completing 108 japams? Think about it! I hope to hear that all the remaining ones have completed 108 japams by Dassera. And don't start with 'but maam, I decided to do one mala per day...' - listen to your words , think again and choose right....

Your family member doing this is good, but for them. By asking others in the family to do is good but that doesn't count as your sadhan. So, if you think you have done sadhan by stating how much they have done, then I say, 'think again'!!!

for those who have completed 108 japams and want some special sadhan during these days : "As told always it is not about how many moves you know, it is all about how many times you have practiced the one move that you know!" Instead on always demanding 'new techniques' why not go to old techniques that you have stopped practicing for what so ever reason and start them for these 10 days? Just take one sadhan technique say 'homam' for morning, some meditation for afternoon and some other healing technique for evening. This way you only sit for say 1/2 an per sitting and that wouldn't be difficult to squeeze in your routine. You will also not feel bored of doing sadhan continuously. You will also benefit from the regularity of this sadhan. So many good reasons. So why not do this this Dassera?

People who have been vaccinated will be attending the class after Dassera. Further details will be given after wards........

to understand about rituals and traditions of Indian culture and as to why we celebrate the festivals.

As already explained in the previous blogs, festivals are celebrated with physical, psychological, social, financial, cultural and spiritual benefits kept in view. Other benefits are already discussed earlier. I’ll just explain the spiritual meaning behind it this time.

Creation

Dolls are arranged on steps of odd numbers for 10 days during Dassera by some sects and during Diwali and Sankranti by other sects of people of South India.

Dolls did not exist on the steps before start of Dassera. (The same explanation applies if applied for Diwali and Sankranti too!). but, they did exist – some in loft of the house-holder or in the shops before that. That means they existed even when they didn’t. It means they weren’t seen on steps and hence were not seen by all but they existed elsewhere.

Likewise, souls exist even when not manifested in this world as the unmanifest in the God – Brahman.

When He decides to create they are placed on various steps. Various steps represent various time zones of creation – or various yugas. They also represent the various levels of spiritual growths of the soul.

Finally after 3/10 days depending upon the sect, the entire exhibits are packed and kept on the loft till next year same time. Like-wise, after completion of 4 yugas, the great deluge called Maha Pralaya submerges the entire universe and the entire universe is under water for millions of human years but which in actuality is only one night for the Almighty.then the entire drama of creation starts all over again.

Now, this ritual/tradition is a remainder that the entire creation is just an artistic creation of the Divine. At what steps of evolution or spiritual growth am I? this is the question that one should pose to self every year around this time and assess one’s growth in the last one year and make note of necessary resolutions to speedup this process in the coming year.

On Dassera

Please read related posts (earlier) to understand why we celebrate this custom and how traditions are the remainders of our 'Only agenda' of life!

http://kantipadam.blogspot.in/search?q=dassera

If you have any other questions related to this topic please ask now!

How do you celebrate your 'Dassera' (no, not the rituals! As a reiki channel, how do you propose to use these special days for your upliftment?)

Also read 'comments section' where you would actually benefit from the experience of other reiki channels - first hand......

On rituals and traditions - Dassera

 On Dassera

…..contd…..

V Step – It has ‘Gajendra-Moksham’ which states that only when one can love – can he surrender completely because surrender’s basic requirement is trust and egolessness. And that can’t exist where ego flourishes. And where there is surenderance, there is ‘Bhakthi’ and where ‘Bhakthi’ is redemption is.

VI Step – The next step has ‘Dasaavataar’ representing our stages of evolution and phases of evolution.

The last or topmost 7th step represents the ‘Parabrahma’ or ‘ParaShakthi’ state of realizing one’s God-hood – which is rarest of rare and millions stop way below this level.

Thus, the 7 steps give us a complete picture of spiritual growth and the equalities required to rise above one’s lower nature. And this is possible only when one has grace of a ‘Guru’ – who is ever ready to help his ‘shishya’ – student see through his ignorance and outgrow it and walk towards enlightenement.

This is the meaning behind this Dassera festival and it’s ritual of arranging dolls for the same.

I hope all your doubts regarding this issue are clear.

Note : If you still have any more questions please raise them preferably immediately. Don’t wait for few months and then ask a question related to this topic…..

Let’s seek Mother’s blessings in killing the ‘asura’ within!

Let’s work towards our freedom!

What is the work plan?

What are we supposed to do?

What do you propose to do?

What should be our agenda?

Sadhan for September 2025

Sadhan for September 2025

This month end we have Navarathri starting. So, let’s club sadhan with the need of the hour.

Our tradition is to clean the house for Dassera and Deepavali. So, this month, let’s clean our houses.

May be just one shelf a week, one rack a week. Choice is yours. You can clean just a bureau, almirah, rack or the entire room. Choice is yours – as always!

But, clean!

That is the first sadhan.

Second, do re-birth meditation with “fear”, “ego”, and “anger”.

Each week at least do it twice. Those who can do more number of times, can do so.

So, that week at least you would have done twice each of the attitudes selected by us to heal this month.

Next, let’s take up a relationship. Do EH with the same. Do it at least twice a week.

Relationships suggested are : parents, spouse, siblings

Do “homam” minimum of twice a week.

Do “Vastu healing” minimum of twice a week.

That’s all for this month!

Come back with your experiences, observations, feedback at the end of the month.

All will benefit because of the Pooja that you will do for Dassera and Deepavali. But, those who do the above sadhan will receive more than those who don’t. Not to freak you out. Not to pressurize you. Do not be intimidated. Relax and make choices as you wish to. Just gave you a heads up and fyi for you to take informed decision based on data available. That’s all!

on Dassera!

On Dassera

(What is the importance of this tradition is understood by reading the related posts given link in the previous post)

Why is it observed during this ‘particular time of the year’?

This time of the year ‘God’ of death – Yama’ is most powerful and works through various ‘odd mechanisms’ to ‘reach his target’ so to say (No, don’t think he has one. It was just a joke or lighter way of puttingit!)

So, we notice odd accidents happening all around and natural calamities of strange types happen. To not to get caught in this ‘death game’, our ‘seers’ (those who could ‘SEE’ through time and space) programmed this tradition to make our lives centre around ‘Mother Shakthi’ these ten days. Any child when he just shouts ‘ma’ his mother comes running and sees to his requirements. So imagine what ‘Mother of all mothers’ would do if we sit in contemplation of her during these ‘dark days’! She comes running and sees to his requirements. So imagine what ‘Mother of all mothers’ would do if we sit in contemplation of her during these ‘dark days’! She comes to our rescue and saves us from the ‘death’. Now, though we may contemplate or call her fearing physical death but if our meditation is right, intent pure and right, she would rescue not just from physical death but from the ‘cycle of life and death’.

So, how to benefit most during this period?

Simple! As a reiki channel whatever healing techniques you have learnt, do it sincerely and as many as you can, these ten days. Well, this period extends till December (remember Chaturmas), so tighten your seat belts and so as much reiki as possible. Here I don’t count ‘intention reiki’ as sadhan. Sadhan includes only pranayamam, all types of meditations, hands-on and homam.

How it benefits?

As already told, it gives protection against any ‘sudden untoward incidents’ happening in life.

Secondly, if done with pure intent it can help us to outgrow our demons within.

Thirdly, it helps us to develop such of qualities which are ‘pre-requisite’ to being eligible to receive knowledge and grace of Mother.

Dassera

Dassera

Please refer to blog dated : Nov 6th 2012 to understand the custom of ‘bommala koluvu’ or ‘golu’ as it is generally referred to.

As already explained, each decoration has an innate meaning and the explanation of one such arrangement is given below.

The lowermost step represents life in all it’s forms and shapes.  Animals kept on this step represent our thousands of janmas that we take before being granted a ‘human life’.  The life that we got after so much of difficulty, how are we actually living it?  Just as animals also eat, sleep, procreate are we leading a similar life represented by the couple selling fruits – a life which is full of mundane routine.

The same life can be used to cross the ‘bhavasagara’ – ‘ocean of life and death’ and attain moksha represented by the fisherwoman/man.  This can be attained by following three paths viz., karma yoga represented by the saint patriotic poet shri.Bharathiyaar.  you can lead such of life which is beneficial in some way to the society at large, which betters the society in some way.  As a karmayogi, we ‘become’ the change that we want to see in the society and in our life.  We put some effort to make this world a better place to live.

The next is the path of ‘gnanayoga’ represented by Swami Vivekananda.  The path that is both difficult yet totally fulfilling.

The next most suited for emotional people is the path of ‘bhakthi yoga’ represented by ‘the music trinity’ Shri.Thyagarayar, Shri. MuthuSwami Deekshithar and Shri.Shyama Shashtri.  This path asks us to surrender to the will of the Lord as we move about in the world fulfilling our responsibilities.

Once, we decide to walk the path, the journey is not all that easy nor is the result i.e., moksha immediate.  It happens at various stages.

Becoming eligible for grace – by being selfless!

Becoming eligible for grace – by being selfless!

Sridhar receives appreciation and returns for selflessness that he exhibited vide  https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/2023/10/becoming-eligible-for-grace-by-sharing.html?showComment=1697587044208… by way of Reiki from me….

I am also sending reiki to that woman and her son for the next three days to come….

I am also sending Reiki to all the homeless people in the world – this I do by doing “Earth Healing” for the next one week – till Dassera 23..i.e., 24th of this month!

This to me is the real and true Dassera and festive spirit. Sharing and wishing what I have with the one who doesn’t!!!

This Reiki is sent on a regular basis by me, but during ongoing wars and other calamities, this intention takes a back seat!  But, when someone shares their observation or their actions, then memory recall happens and “forgotten action” is continued – again!

In appreciation of that remainder, I will send Reiki to Sridhar for 2 days.

In appreciation for that selflessness, I will send Reiki for 3 days.

And for sharing it, 2 days.

And for acting out of love and for that presence of mind, will send for 2 more days!

This time reiki will be sent for one reason after the other – not parallel as before!

Now, what is it that touched you in this experience?

The common response would be "maam, i am also going to send reiki for the same" - really? Is that all that can be done?
