Me My Guru – on fate, destiny and karma

Contd....

Me My Guru – on fate, destiny and karma

Years passed. Guru and shishya would be in sadhan all through the day and night too! Time was not taken in consideration by them.” Only the day one doesn’t feel the time has he actually become eligible to be walking the path of spirituality. All other times, he is just flaring his ego with imaginations and assumptions. Wake up! Know yourself. Face the facts! Declare war on them. And become free of these shackles that stop your flight!

Once during the meditations, Guru saw the death of his shishya in 7 days. He was shaken a bit. He meditated and regained his calm.” – There are two points here. One is that to the one who is regular in sadhan (drawing symbols to get bus, saying lines of gratitude 10-20 times a day don’t count as sadhan in such cases) will develop abilities like premonition, clairvoyance and so on.

Understand them correctly. I said “abilities” – read them as such only. They are not “powers” as usually assumed to be and talked as. They are just abilities that we get as collateral to our sadhan. They are not the be all of our sadhan. Know that!

Second, is Guru was shaken when he saw the vision. We want to “SEE” many things but are we ready to “SEE” them? Many times, a big no!

When such a time comes learn from the Guru. He didn’t run away. He didn’t start crying. He MEDITATED AND REGAINED HIS CALM. Whenever we are shaken, sadhan is the place to be. Go back to sadhan, regain your composure and then resume your job. Only after you gain your calm, take any decisions.

Don’t come calling me. Don’t be angry that I am not available at all odd times for you. I am not your private property. Sadhan is the ONLY way to get that calm. Even if I meet you or talk to you, I am going to ask you to do the same. But, no, you want me to DO REIKI for you. Till that nature stays with you, fear will toss you as it feels right. The problem is not the situation. Know that! The problem is that "there is fear". And that fear is within you. Know this. Accept it. And work on it. Heal it. Overcome it. Transcend it! Become free of fear! You don't need it - remember that!

Sadhan, sadhan, and more sadhan when shaken – REMEMBER THAT!

Me, my Guru – Bhagavatam – Bhaktha Prahlad and Hiranyakashyap

Contd....

Me, my Guru – Bhagavatam – Bhaktha Prahlad and Hiranyakashyap

Guru was afraid – if the king knew the acts of Prahlad through other sources, Hiranyakashyap may presume that the Guru had taught young Prahlad all this. That would mean death to the Guru. Guru was not ready to face that punishment. So, he took Prahlad to the Hiranyakashyap and complained that Prahlad was adamant in stating Lord Vishnu as the Saviour God of this World.

Hearing all these complaints, Hiranyakashyap was amused. He felt his son was too young to understand the wrong done by him. So, he took him near and with lots of love tried to explain how Lord Vishnu was the enemy of Daityas and how Hiranyakashyap was the God of this Earth.

But young Prahlad who was just 7 years was sure of his knowledge. He didn’t bat an eye. With an innocence of a 7year old, he corrected his father and said, “Yes father, being a parent you are my God. Because as per shashtra, every parent is a God to his child. But, God of this Universe, of you and me is the one and only – Lord Vishnu”.

Hearing this Hiranyakashyap lost it and started shouting. Yet, Prahlad didn’t fear him. He didn’t change his stand.

As time passed Hiranyakashyap lost his cool and forgetting the fact that Prahlad was his only son, asked his soldiers to kill him by throwing him from the mountaintop. They followed his orders. Prahlad kept chanting the “hari nama” (Divine name of Lord Vishnu). Prahlad was saved. He was brought to Hiranyakashyap. He was enraged. He changed the means to kill Prahlad 7 times. And each time Prahlad was saved.

Not once did Prahlad slip and feel “How can my father hate me so and try to kill me in such cruel ways?”

He was immersed in his bhakthi so much that he was filled with only thoughts and feelings of love for Lord Vishnu. That ‘love’ for the Divine became his protecting shield that protected him. The moment we see the person who is being cruel, selfish, and hurting towards us, we get bound by the Laws of the Universe and Karma. That becomes our seed for pain and suffering.

Questions answered in the link:

Who was Hiranyakashyap?

How hating God brings you close to HIM?

What does chanting the name of God do to us?

If chanting the  God's name brings us closer to God, then when we chant the name of people whom does go close to?

Me, My Guru - On life and death – III!

5.The difference in benefit received from student to student depended solely on their attitude and intent. Procedure being the same gave different results to each depending upon his level of consciousness. And we asked “ma’am, if such miracles happen to her, why can’t my simple wish be fulfilled?”

Our Guru just smiled and left. Though we understood a lot, I knew we didn’t understand it all! We needed to understand it better and for that we had to go within and we had to heal ourselves more!

For now, we decided to work on our fear and attitude of postponing everything. Other things can wait – for now!

Me, My Guru - On life and death – III!

He was startled and shocked. He went as requested. He was shaken by the time he reached the monastery.

Buddha called him and asked his experience of the day. The monk replied “The Great One! It was very disturbing day for me. Today, I went in the area you commanded me to seek bhiksha. Our monk’s sister stays there. Every thought I had got manifested immediately. Later, I realized she could read my thoughts and so fulfilled them”.

Buddha smiled and replied “Let’s see what happens tomorrow”.

The monk shook his head and replied “No, Great One! I can’t! That lady can read my thoughts. She also must’ve read my other thoughts. I had some thoughts of lust too today! She would’ve known that too. And so, I am ashamed to face her again”.

Buddha nodded his head and said “That’s ok! You HAVE to go there again without fail tomorrow. There is no going back on that! But, when you go there just go with a ‘sakshibhav’ –i.e., be a witness to your thoughts. Just keep looking at them”.

Points to understand post :

"That’s ok! You HAVE to go there again without fail tomorrow."- Do the thing that you fear till that fear goes away. There is no other way to outgrow fear!

"sakshibhav’ –i.e., be a witness to your thoughts. " - Become aware of your thoughts. Become aware of what you are generating. Become aware of your self! If being aware of  yourself is giving you pain and suffering, then 'being that YOU' - does it sound reasonable? If being aware of yourself makes you uncomfortable, then how can you expect others to be comfortable around you? How can  you expect affection and respect from others? How can  you ever be at peace with yourself?

The one who is not comfortable being with himself has got VERY BAD COMPANY!  It's hightime he changes it! (There is a high chance of misunderstanding and misquoting this sentence. By doing so, one is only harming himself, not proving anything good about himself)

Me, My Guru - On life and death – III!

 Contd....

Me, My Guru - On life and death – III!

We ought to break our belief system.

Death is not ‘opposite’ of life. It is part and parcel of life. Death is happening to us every waking and sleeping time. We are dying with every breath. People celebrate their birthdays. Have you looked at it a little from distance?” so saying our Guru looked at all of us. We – well, most of us nodded in negative. We didn’t like to talk about death – leave alone meditating on it or thinking about it.

But our Guru being who she was, would talk on all and sundry subjects. Most of us kept pushing this topic aside since beginning and she kept coming back to it again and again – one way or the other. We didn’t like it. It is not as if she didn’t understand that. And yet, she pushed this topic more number of times than our acceptance level. She was more adamant than us – especially in this one! I got irritated at her for this. Honestly, I was more than angry with her. So were some more!! And I am sure she knew it. And yet it didn’t affect her decision to go ahead with this topic. I mean, who talks or discusses death?

While I was busy in my head, Rahul’s voice cut through my thoughts saying “but Guruji, how can our looking at death closely help us with our life? We are so afraid of death that all our life we are running away from it. How can you expect us to ‘look at’ death? Can you be more specific?”

On post :

** Try to read the sentences marked with 'Red colour' more than once to understand them better.

Meditate on them!

"We ought to break our belief system" - Every understanding happens only when we break our 'OLD" belief system. If we keep saying "I am right, I know I am right" then with that 'adamant mindset' we can not move forward towards better clarity of thought. So we need to look into every belief system - one at a time and try to think on it. Question them. But, we can't look at them objectively until we detach from them. As long as we "OWN UP" our belief systems, we will only end up justifying them. We get angry at people who question us of our belief systems. We tend to get uncomfortable.

Being uncomfortable is good! That shows where our 'ego' is operating from. It is painful - I agree. It is uncomfortable - I agree. But, if you want to live life fully, we need to these 'uncomfortable parts' of our selves sooner than later!

"We didn’t like to talk about death – leave alone meditating on it or thinking about it." - The issues that disturb us, makes us uncomfortable, pain us we usually push them under the carpet. We don't want to address them. We don't want to see them for they mean or for what they are!

But, as long as we hush it up, as long as we don't look into our fear into its eyes we can never get released from it. Many times, all we have to do is look at it closely and without any filters to get released from it.

Courage - that is the most important attitude that helps us overcome our fears. Use it. You have it. Put it to good use and become free from fears!

"But our Guru being who she was, would talk on all and sundry subjects." - Look at the words "Guru being who she was..." - now here is a person who is fearless to talk about death and we don't see her fearlessness. We don't see her as a person who has worked on her fear and overcome it. We don't see her as a person who is patiently trying to help us overcome our fear.

Instead we 'name' her as 'being who she was' and call her names. We insult her.

This is not about Guru of this story. This is about every person who is strong, capable, helpful, courageous - be it Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Gandhi or our every day heroes from our life - we just insult their 'strength of their character' by calling them names. Who is at loss here? We at the end. We lose one more chance to benefit from the presence and words of these 'characters' in our life. And then we keep complaining, crying and cursing God and who not for not listening to our prayers etc etc.....

think about it....

"We didn’t like it. / I got irritated at her for this. Honestly, I was more than angry with her." - Look at these sentences. They all say one thing for sure - that if someone says anything contrary to our 'belief system or comfort levels' then we get angry at them. We like people only as long as they try to please us. But the real people are those who do 'right things' for you. The genuine people say 'right things' that are good for you. They are actually being truthful to you and yet....

no, doubt, we end up being with people who exploit us, demean us, use and abuse us....and later cry out loud asking "Why are people not truthful and honest? Why is everyone cheating?"

You get what you want.....you get what you work for....

so beware.....

"Rahul’s voice cut through my thoughts saying" - and in the same world we also have people like Rahul taking every opportunity given to him. He is open to every help that comes his way. This journey is painful to him too. This journey is uncomfortable to him too. But he LOVES HIMSELF too much to live in the shit of "bad choices". He is SELFISH enough to be good to himself and work for his higher good. He is ready to undergo pain to reach a state of higher peace, understanding, happiness and respect.

On Covid Vaccine

On Covid Vaccine

Given below is a good summary, it is believed that everyone will get Omicron variant sooner or later. Above is good summary of experience shared by a reputed ER doc Dr.Craig Spencer in New York...

This is not to frighten everyone. Please understand that. This is just a reminder and a wake up call to people who are 'NOT GETTING VACCINATED'

or

'POSTPONING GETTING VACCINATED ESPECIALLY THE SECOND DOSE'

with all lame excuses....

One medical profession just told me this "When I see people suffering with various Covid complications and dying day in and day out, I wonder what makes them choose their EGO over commonsense. I still haven't understood why people don't get vaccinated. Do these people don't have sense of self-preservation? Don't they love their near and dear ones enough to save them from this disease? How can they expose their little ones to this virus - because when they don't get vaccinated they are being irresponsible towards not only their family members but to the society at large?

What are they trying to achieve by not getting vaccinated? They have time to travel to places ( to temples in the name of love of God etc) and yet don't have time to get vaccinated?

Is fear of vaccine greater than fear of death and horrible living conditions in ICU?

How can someone be so stupid, selfish, arrogant and harmful to their family?"

The anguish I saw on the face of that Doctor is something I can not forget....and to think all these front line workers are losing their family life and life too to save stupids like us who are adamant and not wanting to get vaccinated....

what's the fun of going to temple on January 1st saying "We want to start the New year the right way?" if our actions don't support our words?

Correct the wrong. Get vaccinated. Stop giving excuses. We have lost someone or the other in the past to this 'careless' attitude. Have we not learnt anything from the past? Do we want the same history to repeat itself? Do we have to lose someone else? Are we looking trading 'pity' to safety in our life? What is the basis of our decisions in life? Do we have courage to be honest with ourselves when we take such decisions? OR are we justifying our actions behind 'baseless arguments'? Think and think right!!!!

Atleast this year let's start by correcting our little mistakes that we do because of our careless, negligence and don't care attitude. Later we won't have the need to ask "But I drew shielf maam, yet why did I lose this person in my life?"

spread this message to all in your circle....

let me know what you think of such people and these acts....do you understand from where they are coming and do you support them? explain me the same so that at least my pain and suffering can come down a bit.....

Living life kingsize!

Living life kingsize!

Fear is death!

Fear cripples us!

Fear is based on our assumptions of the future...

Fear is as long as we condition the course of our life and events in it....we fear when we assume we can no longer control our life or its events...

Fear is only as long as we want to control people, events and life...

Fear stems from the factor that we want everything to go as per our agenda....

Fear is one of the two greatest sins of human race says Upanishads!

Overcome fear to live life!

On life and death – II

Contd...

On life and death – II

For many just existing is enough – even it be as an invalid. If that is the choice or way of living, then that and such person need not worry on all these levels.

But if life means to be happy and happiness means sharing with near and dear ones, then I request those to check these facts making a wish of long life.

But then, is life and death in our hands? What if all around me die and I still continue to survive?

Life and death is certainly not in our hands. But, having clarity of thought on these is certainly in our hands**. What can’t be controlled need not be worried about. But our perspective on these things is certainly in our hands and we need to groom them right – when our sense are still intact. Now, we have each other to remind, support and encourage working on ourselves. Let’s make best use of this support system. God forbid, but if such time comes when we are left alone behind by all known to us, then let us be mentally, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually prepared to enjoy ‘our lone life too’ – which life has given as bonus to us. instead of being a ‘complaining, bitter old person always talking about those times’ let’s make new and fresh memories even then with our attitude.

Let’s learn to dance with life!

Let’s live life!

So, when death comes knocking it should look at us and ask us “Teach me to live!”

Let’s give something to death - of life!

Maut ko zindagi diye chalthe hai…

मौत को ज़िन्दगी दिए चलते हैं। ..

Chavuki kooda jeevithanni eddam pada…

చావుకి కూడా జీవితాన్ని ఇద్దాం పదా ....

On life and death - I

Jeene waale ek pal mein hazarron saal jee lethe hai,

Warna aksar log hazarron salon mein bhi ek pal jee nahi pathe hai…

People who live for 1000 years may not end up living even for a moment! And blessed are the souls that live 1000years in a second!

And this ‘blessedness’ is not a gift you receive from someone. It is based solely on your perspective.

And that ‘right perspective’ and ‘attitude’ that lets you live 1000 years in one second comes only when you accept death as an integral part of life. We ought to befriend death – not be afraid of it. We should be able to look into its eyes to overcome fear of death. Then comes the desire so strong to live and celebrate life that we are ready to die to live! Then you’ve learnt to live. That is when you actually start to live. Till then we are dying every second from fear of death.

Ab hum zindagi se nazar churaathe hai aur maut ko peet dikhathe hai – donon galat hai…zindagi ko lapak ke pakado, uske har mauke ko le lo. Chalo zindagi se nazar milaana seekhe aur maut ko gale laganaa….

Now we run away from life and hide from death. Both absolutely wrong! Don’t let life get away! Don’t let it slip away! When life gives you an opportunity grab it with both your hands. Don’t pass it off! Take every chance that life gives you. Let’s learn to look into eyes of life and embrace death!

Let’s learn the ‘art of dying to celebrate life’!

On life and death - I

***On life and death - I

Let’s say we are to live for 100yrs. You can even believe yourself to live for 400 years and yet with every year passed are we not getting closer to death?

We celebrate reaching 25 years – good! But, it also means we’ve lost1/4th of our lifespan. And what happened till now? Nothing much! It goes only to playing and growing. Isn’t it same for any age? I am not driving you towards pessimism or depression. Don’t be disheartened. I am just saying we place our happiness on the condition of our perception. And so, we look at every event in life with rosy glasses. Why do we do that?

We do so, so that we can avoid ‘seeing the Truth!’

Now instead we take courage to see the complete picture we understand that it is life! It moves forward. We can’t slow down time or hide from it. But, by participating in life with openness we can live 100yrs in one second.

Jeene waale ek pal mein hazarron saal jee lethe hai,

Warna aksar log hazarron salon mein bhi ek pal jee nahi pathe hai…

जीने वाले एक पल में हज़ारों साल जी लेते हैं ,

वरना अक्सर लोग हज़ारों सालों में भी एक पल जी नहीं पाते है।

People who live for 1000 years may not end up living even for a moment! And blessed are the souls that live 1000 years in a second!

Questions to be raised and answers to be sought :

  • Why are we afraid of talking, discussing or expecting death?
  • Is death separate from life?
  • Are life and death part of each other? If yes, then why do we see them as separate? If no, what role does death has in life?
  • What part of death are we afraid of?
