Me, my Guru – on ego!

Contd....

Me, my Guru – on ego!

Our ego was in full swing and yet we went around assuming to be good people. And then we were angry at Guru, God and reiki saying “Why are we suffering inspite of being good?”

Now we understood our situations better. We received what we generated through our ego. Our selfishness, double-standards, anger and all that – how could they give us ‘good’ returns? We received what we gave!

Yet, we had miracles knock at our doors. We still had abundance and things going our way. Not because of whom we are – but purely because of Reiki’s grace. Our little sadhan brought in such huge returns. That is Guru’s and God’s grace. They gave way beyond what we deserved. Unfortunately, we didn’t’ even validate them!?

Rahul, Aziz and such people realized all this. And they received according to their understanding, behaviour, truthfulness, humility and acceptance of the fact that they were work in progress. They accepted they needed to be chiseled more and every single day and they sought our Guru’s grace to chisel them. And when she did that with words they felt grateful to her. They weren’t angry at her. That spoke about their level of consciousness. And so, they loved her, revered her and worshiped her.

It wasn’t what she was working for. She just came, saw, pointed and explained where we our flaws were and left. But the way her students treated her spoke about ‘who they were’ and ‘where they came from’. The way she was treated did not reflect who she was!

Not expecting from them expressed her egolessness.

Showing their gratitude, humility and respects reflected the area of ego they have cleared in themselves. Ego was at play everywhere. If only we knew where to see!!!

Each person behaves depending upon his level of consciousness. It represents his character. His behaviour reflects who he is. It did not depend on the other person or the situation he was facing. Know this and keep healing to realise it.....

What did  you take from this post?

How was this post useful to you?

Where do you think you can use it?

How will you benefit from this knowhow?

PS : Blog is written with your doubts, situations, emotions and crisis you are facing just now....Every blog post gives you clearly where the problem is, what problem is, what you are seeing and how you are supposed to see, how you are behaving and what is alternate way of behaving. It also gives you various ways of healing and addressing the issue at hand. Till you change the way you treat your mother-in-law, your problem will not change. Remember the way you treat your mother-in-law is the way you will be treated by your daughter-in-law. This is how karma is generated. When we push someone from our life we think we are justified because we don't like them. But when the same dislike comes back to us we cry saying 'why is it happening to me maam?'

Till we change our selfishness and demanding nature, things in our life can not be changed. They are going to come back in our life again and again....no one can make 'magic' happen in your life.....know this........

On receiving for healing and growing!

On receiving for healing and growing!

We all are healing and maybe many of us have been healing for a decade or more!

Sometimes or no, many times question is posed - "my work is pending and my desire is not getting fulfilled. Where is all my healing going?"

When we heal certain areas of our life (now this area is not chosen by any of us - we just are healing as per schedule), certain baggage or psychic impressions or vikaras as we call them get healed. When that happens for a considerable amount, we get to see that we have developed clarity of thought! Even we may not realize that! But, the way we talk, we think and the way we conduct ourselves change for the better. We are able to behave "the right way" even without making a conscious effort! And it reflects in the way we respond to the situations and people in our lives.

This is reflected very clearly in this case - read the comment https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/2023/09/on-receiving-for-giving-and-sharing.html?showComment=1694788155868

and https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/2023/09/on-receiving-for-sharing-and-giving.html?showComment=1694821349556 ...

Read the same persons response in similar situations some time back. It was same as everybody else...but, now she has realized that when we receive we should give... we should pay back to the Universe....this is not told. This is on her own. That is the benefit of all the healing done.

Look in your lives. You will see how your behaviour has changed for better in various areas and with various people. That is your growth. That is the biggest achievement that you can fall back on. That is the result of all your healing! And you and ONLY YOU will reap the benefit of this change in you.

Don't let this post depress you or feel bad about yourself. Don't compare yourself with the other too! Just use this as an indicator to see how it reflects in your life and its situations.

Everyone is wounded. Everyone is healing! There is nothing wrong with being wounded. But, it certainly is stupidity if we justify ourselves being wounded. It is awful if we stay wounded by being ashamed of ourselves or seeking pity for ourselves. Don't let these emotions cloud or stop your growth.

Notice who you are truly! Then own it up! And then work on areas you are not comfortable with yourself using various techniques. And before long you will be the person you'll fall in love with! And then begins the most beautiful love story of your life!

Rules and regulations for a Master

Rules and regulations for a Master

“Tell me, Guruji, how should a Master behave? What are his traits? What rule should he follow as a Master?” asked Vaishnav clearly wanting to find fault with our Guru’s behaviour.

Our Guru replied with a smile “To master oneself, there are rules and regulations. To overcome one’s ego there are virtues to be developed. To transcend one’s samskaras (psychic impressions) one has to follow rituals and rules.

But once the individual has transcended his karma, once he has ‘mastered’ over his nature he need not follow any rules.

Once a person has mastered selflessness and experienced ‘self’ he can behave as he chooses. However he behaves that is ‘right’.  Master cannot be bound by a student’s definition of right and wrong. But a student can be pointed his flaws and slips by the Master “saying so our Guru kept quiet.

We didn’t know what to ask after that and so kept silent – externally!

Questions addressed :

  • What are the qualities that a Guru should have?
  • What are the limitations that bind a Guru?
  • Which traits of Guru are wrong?
  • How to recognise a Guru?
  • How long should we follow rules and regulations?
  • What is the purpose of 'rituals' and 'dharma'?
  • What is freedom and when does one get it?

Pointers in the post :

“Tell me, Guruji, how should a Master behave? What are his traits? What rule should he follow as a Master?” asked Vaishnav clearly wanting to find fault with our Guru’s behaviour. - This looks like a harmless question on the first look of it. But look within and you see layers of anger, judging, envy etc in this question.

Why does one ask a question? - This is something we don't notice or think much about. A student who is being corrected by his master regularly gets so angry with him that he wants to find some reason to hurt him and find fault with him. In the process he again seeks the help of 'Guru' to hurt the Guru! What an irony!

Apply it with and in every relation where we are submissive because of other person's age, position or relationship - like parent, elders in the family, boss or your teacher and like. They have our good in mind when they correct us or point us our flaws. Sometimes, the method used or the way it is told may be wrong, but the intention of the person is not personal. They have our good at heart and our of intimacy may chide us but still that is only for our good. But we in our ignorance find it irritating and insulting. And we harbour that anger over the years and wait to get back to them. We hurt them in ways many and so many times. We harbour anger and are brewing it day in and day out......think about it!

Assuming, they have hurt us, even then how many times they have extended us support? See how many times they have taught us well. See how many times they have given so much in so many ways! And yet, we are angry at them for few times (we presume!) they have hurt us!

And we think 'our logic and reasoning' to be right in being angry?

"Look at the answer given by the Guru" - That doesn't mean all the things 'so called Gurus' do and so they are in jail is valid. Don't understand the right answer the wrong way! Kudos to logic that sends us on this stupid road! Meditate on this. What does this mean? Why it is ok for Guru to kill and wrong when you and I are even angry at others? Even a thought of killing someone is wrong when you and I do but when Krishna kills, it is absolute 'Dharma'. Why?

Next apply it with every relationship - we have a rule book on how 'they are supposed to' behave and we go with an assumption that we are 'perfect'. The basis of our wrong understanding in this logic and basis of our argument. Look into this aspect of every relationship and see how we have been 'wrong' in our expectations and conditions from our relationships.........

Don't let logic to twist your understanding.....

Today's Miracle :

Yesterday someone told "You know the worst thing about Corona - I can't taste my food. There is no good eating now" Now this person is a foodie and so the pain is much more for this person.......

how many times we take 'having ability to taste' for granted? Today, i sat to thank for still having it. I may not have chappan bhog  (loosely translated 7 course meal ) i.e., 56 variety of items to eat but still whatever gruel i drink i still am able to taste......thank God for that! and this thanks is not just verbal - mind you!

We miss out on living and life while we look at things that we desire for and not having right now with us.

We miss out living and celebrating people in our life while we cry for ones not in our life.

We don't use things and enjoy with them for we curse our fate for not being able to have those things which we long for!

In all this process, "WE" are choosing to suffer.

We have this moment only once - once gone we can't retrive this moment. Do we want to spend it crying and complaining or being thankful and happy?

We can work towards our goals and desires longing for them, crying for them, being jealous of people who already have it, getting angry at people whom we expect to fulfill our desires OR

we can keep working towards what we wish to acquire in life with a smile on our lips and song in our heart?

Our choice reflects who we are!

Our choice reflects if we are using our logic to our benefit or for our downfall?

Our choice reflects our 'Destiny'!

Choose wisely!

bribe...

So, today we wish to deal with the topic ‘bribe’. As already explained ‘bribe’ means ‘gift or consideration of any kind offered to any one to influence his judgement or conduct. It is a type of seduction used to influence a person’s way of working’.

This is practiced in various quarters of our life. Rightly understood, it is practiced by one and all in all walks of life. I’ll give just few examples. Don’t say “I don’t do it” and feel proud about it. This is not it. They should help us to point at all such related issues.

The most common and accepted would be a mother giving ice-cream or toffee in exchange for the food eaten completely or medicine taken or for behaving properly. We are teaching the kids to accept bribe right from the young days and we call it ‘love’. Every time we exchange some thing with the child in exchange for the rank he gets, for his behaviour etc are we not practicing bribing the soft way? We are not ashamed of it! In fact, we share this knowledge with other parents and ask them to follow it too….every person should do his duties on his own and shouldn’t expect any extra rewards for it – even the child for that matter. Because character is set right from then onwards. When we do it, we call it ‘love’ ‘small child no, so it’s ok’ ‘ yeh sab tho karma padtha hai’ and all that. And find fault with others when they do it in grown up situations?

That shows that I have an attitude that says “show me the person and I’ll frame the rule”. Is that right?

The second type come in day-to-day affairs like not wanting to pay fine of say Rs.500/- and bargain for Rs.100-150/- with policemen and get away with it. It is considered savings and good bargaining and even policemen get our swearing. But, more than him, I am responsible for his act. As this could have been totally done away with it by simply following few steps like 1.maintaining/ possessing all the papers required for /during driving 2. following traffic rules honestly and completely 3. by not breaking traffic rules thought it’s easy to follow traffic rules, it seems Herculean task for many to follow and then end up giving bribe and later complain against policemen. This is just one eg. And such related bribe situations can be totally done away with provided I want to.

The next type come under such of category where the person who to get his right is forced to bribe the person who needs to pay him his due. For eg. 1.a pensioner who’s asked by the officer to pay bribe to get his pension 2.medical bills / any bill reimbursed only when the person concerned is bribed. 3. loan/ clearance given only against bribe and all such cases.

Here, all the papers are intact and the person who’s to receive the amount is completely eligible to receive it and yet is forced to cough up some amount to the person concerned to receive the same. Here, it’s the clear case of person not doing his duty or expecting more than his salary just to do his job. This reflects person’s greed, dishonesty and lack of commitment towards his job. Greed, dishonesty and commitment are already dealt with. There is no end to these. At the same time, one can choose to bend to pressure or flow with tide depending upon his internal strength. Azim premji didn’t wish to bribe the official for energy and went to start his own power plant. And don’t say, well, he can afford to. No, he couldn’t afford to then. He didn’t know anything of power or energy then. But, he went on to get it because he WANTED TO.

Now, the question is do all of us, have the strength to lay our own roads to success? If not, why not? Why do we always get away saying “oh, but, it’s not possible for me because of x, y, and z reason?”

Every situation is an opportunity wrapped up as a bitter pill to chart out new routes to success. But, the question is, are we listening?

Every time, the world pushes you on to your knees, you are in perfect position to pray. But, are you happy praying or complaining about the knee pain – that makes all the difference!
The most dangerous type of bribe is yet to be dealt with....but that's for next blog....

Me, My Guru - On giver and receiver

...contd....

I received a call which I had to attend for sure! I excused myself to attend that call! I missed the later part of conversation and yet it seemed complete to me. By the time I came back to attend the session, it was over and everyone was taking her leave. I waited till everyone left and asked her “Guruji, I noticed pain in your voice but didn’t understand as to its cause. If you think me fit to know, can you please tell me the reason?”

I was surprised at the words that found their way through my mouth today. Usually, I would ask her directly. But today, I said “...if you think me fit to know...” which was surprising. All these years I felt it my right to know but today my words told ‘me’ that I can’t demand any explanation from her. Yes, this change was welcome in me and long overdue. I felt glad that I had crossed this milestone of being sensitive and humble and threw over the nature of being arrogant, full of pride, insensitive and demanding.

“Yes, it hurt that people were teaching wrong healing procedures and bent ‘rules and ethics’ to misguide students. What pained and hurt more was that they used my name to do so. They got away with ‘wrong practices’ saying ‘but we were taught so by our Master’”.

Looking at my expression she laughed and said ‘don’t worry; I am not worried that my name is tarnished and pulled into all this dirt. That is and never will be my concern. ‘My good name’ is just a ‘image which I am not much bothered about.

Because, those who know me who is lying and those who don’t – well it doesn’t matter what they think of me! So relax, that is not my concern!

My concern and anguish is the fact that these people are not even ‘strong enough to stand up to their false notions and lies’. How hallow was my training that I couldn’t put even that bit of courage in these people to stand up to their words! Their
actions and behaviour reflects how ‘spineless characters’ they are! I couldn’t even give or teach them ‘strength’ to own up their acts. That is my only pain”.

Now I was confused more than before. When I feel, I know her, which is the time she confuses me more. She proves she is beyond my understanding. I mean, who in the world worries on these grounds? She still was worrying for those students! She saw flaw in her ‘teaching’!

...contd....
