Manasarovar

Certainly one of the best hindi bhajans that i've heard by none other than Bhajan-samrat "Shri. Anup jalotaji". This rendition is of Meera Bai - the great devotee of Lord Krishna and the Sarod accompaniment is simply superb here........

…contd…..

‘Manas’ equals ‘mind’ and ‘sarovar’ represents the ‘space’. There you’ll find tranquility and Lord Shiva means only “within is the Peace and tranquility” and there is that zone of peace and tranquility in the colour of silence you’ll find the “one sitting lost in himself”, “the one who is eternal”, “the one who is effulgent” and that is Lord Shiva. It is not the person as most presume but the light that is seen as a ‘thumb’ in the silence of hearts which Upanishads, Vedas and Seers proclaim as ‘Atma’ which I’ve known to exist.

The mind (manas) is equated with sarovar (pond) i.e., a water body. Just as if the water body is restless or has ripples, waves in it you can’t see the reflection of nature (mountain, trees, clouds etc) around it or even your reflection, like-wise a restless mind can’t reflect to you who you truly are!

Still your mind like a placid lake and see your real self – the Shiva consciousness in the form of light in the dark chambers of your heart.

This actually is the beautiful journey called ‘ManaSarovar’. Take it as they say “it is not for weak minded”, “it is a very difficult journey”.

“Many die during this journey” i.e., our egos die a natural death when we go on this painstaking inner journey.

Here I would like to clarify that I don’t mean to discourage you from taking physical journeys to spiritual places but understand the actual reason and do with that end in mind. That’s all!” she stopped looking through the window and fell silent.

We too didn’t disturb or question her. We had our homework to do. This hit us all a bit and we were trying to understand, appreciate, ingest and fathom it!

So many times she had explained as to how our purpose had been very hallow and yet we were doing it in every act (almost) of ours. We looked at all issues topically and hence never looked or understood the problem correctly. No doubt, measures we took to address them were very temporary and based on emotions and here she was trying to make us look at root cause and remove it – be it personal or national crisis! Would we ever learn this remained a question that only time could tell. But for now, though still unclear on may issues and her explanations one thing we all agreed upon was “we need to heal our anger, fear and insecurities” to actually be able to see clearly and we vowed to do this from today onwards.

We immediately started doing hands-on followed by earth-healing and then meditated for not less than 2 hours – oh! After such a long time!

Felt very relaxed and calm by evening. Did some japam later before having our tea served. Over tea we exchanged our experiences and insights. And the evening came over and we didn’t even realize that…………

Concluded…………

Just listen to this song which you must have heart thousands of time once again to understand why we need to heal ourselves .........from "film Dil hi to hai" and great singer Manna Dey sing the eternally beautiful rendition "laaga chunari mein" english translation given for those who can't understand hindi

Beautiful. Yes, we always hide behind excuses by finding fault with everyone else. But in my case I have found faults with myself too and it's quite tormenting as you can't even play the victim. :D
Taking responsibility for all that happens, atleast gives you a chance to change your future.
Thank you Guruji. Thank you Reiki.
