What's gratitude?

Sorry if I have bored you or hurt you in any way. I
am not good in explaining but I hope my sincere intentions could have come
across to explain it to you” he sat down emotionally.
So true! I am not doing others favour by stating that I am grateful to them.
Infact, I was giving what was long due to them. And yet I felt I was doing a
“good act” by saying “thank-you” to them. How naïve was I? Or was it my
arrogance?
Everyone
started the discussion on this angle of gratitude and came to understanding of
few points.
·
We can’t
claim any thing in exchange for the gratitude that we showed – yes, not even a
claim that we are “good people”.
·
Gratitude
opens up our heart, heals our vanity, selfishness and complaining nature which stems
from emptiness and fills us with joy, appreciation, happiness and makes us say
“I have enough”.
·
We become
more relaxed, less stressed and less irritating when we are grateful for all
that we have.
