Me My Guru – on fate, destiny and karma

Contd....

Me My Guru – on fate, destiny and karma

Years passed. Guru and shishya would be in sadhan all through the day and night too! Time was not taken in consideration by them.” Only the day one doesn’t feel the time has he actually become eligible to be walking the path of spirituality. All other times, he is just flaring his ego with imaginations and assumptions. Wake up! Know yourself. Face the facts! Declare war on them. And become free of these shackles that stop your flight!

Once during the meditations, Guru saw the death of his shishya in 7 days. He was shaken a bit. He meditated and regained his calm.” – There are two points here. One is that to the one who is regular in sadhan (drawing symbols to get bus, saying lines of gratitude 10-20 times a day don’t count as sadhan in such cases) will develop abilities like premonition, clairvoyance and so on.

Understand them correctly. I said “abilities” – read them as such only. They are not “powers” as usually assumed to be and talked as. They are just abilities that we get as collateral to our sadhan. They are not the be all of our sadhan. Know that!

Second, is Guru was shaken when he saw the vision. We want to “SEE” many things but are we ready to “SEE” them? Many times, a big no!

When such a time comes learn from the Guru. He didn’t run away. He didn’t start crying. He MEDITATED AND REGAINED HIS CALM. Whenever we are shaken, sadhan is the place to be. Go back to sadhan, regain your composure and then resume your job. Only after you gain your calm, take any decisions.

Don’t come calling me. Don’t be angry that I am not available at all odd times for you. I am not your private property. Sadhan is the ONLY way to get that calm. Even if I meet you or talk to you, I am going to ask you to do the same. But, no, you want me to DO REIKI for you. Till that nature stays with you, fear will toss you as it feels right. The problem is not the situation. Know that! The problem is that "there is fear". And that fear is within you. Know this. Accept it. And work on it. Heal it. Overcome it. Transcend it! Become free of fear! You don't need it - remember that!

Sadhan, sadhan, and more sadhan when shaken – REMEMBER THAT!

Me My Guru – on fate, destiny and karma

Me My Guru – on fate, destiny and karma

“A Guru and his shishya lived on a mountaintop for many years. Shishya had worked on his vasanas under his Guru’s guidance and brought them under control. His bhakthi, faith, gratitude, respect and love for his Guru were obvious in his every act of “seva” to his Guru.

Years passed. Guru and shishya would be in sadhan all through the day and night too! Time was not taken into consideration by them.

Once during the meditations, Guru saw the death of his shishya in 7 days. He was shaken a bit. He meditated and regained his calm. He sat contemplating his vision. He called his shishya and said, “Son, since its years that you’ve been away from your family, I permit you to go visit them. Stay with them for a week. You can resume your studies with me when you come back after a week.”

Shishya was overjoyed. Without questioning further he packed his meagre belongings and left towards his home. As he got down the hill, he saw a bird hurt and lying on the ground. His eyes were filled with tears. His heart filled with compassion he nursed the bird and saved it. He felt very happy when he saw the bird fly away.

Mastering the Nature!

Mastering the Nature!

The ultimate dream of everyone is to be “ALL POWERFUL”.

And today, let’s see the path that takes us towards being “all powerful” one day!

Being ‘all powerful’ means being the Masters of the phenomena of Nature.

Everything in the World has to feel puny in front of the fury of the Nature.

Imagine, we can master such “A Nature”??!!

Wow – that is everything and be all!

And Swami Vivekananda says “The whole universe is a mass of change. But there is One who never changes, and that is God; and the nearer we get to Him, the less will be the change for us, the less will nature be able to work on us; and when we reach Him and stand with Him, we shall conquer nature, we shall be masters of these phenomena of nature, and they will have no effect on us”

If you can’t believe then look at Jesus Christ – he woke up from death! That is having control over the nature.

Many such are examples that our various Gurus have shown us. Share if you know any of such examples.

But, above all, every healing that you do to overcome your weakness, exhibit your divine nature, connect with your soul takes you nearer to Him and in that lies your secret to overcome your fate slowly and steadily – bye and by.

So stop not till you reach your desired goal!

Keep working on yourself!

Keep doing sadhan!

Develop clarity of thought, patience, trust and faith with healing!

Grow fearless day by day!

On life and death!

On life and death!

Life is ever expanding while contraction is death.

Amassing things of this world is not expanding. It is contraction. It is the death of the soul.

The self-seeking man who is looking after his personal comforts and leading a lazy life – there is no room for him even in hell.

One who goes towards the World dies again and again.

One who draws himself away from the World walks towards eternity.

One who gathers gets scattered.

One who gives away regains himself.

Me, My guru – working of Karma noted in a real-life situation!

Me, My guru – working of Karma noted in a real-life situation!

The elder one was misunderstood by her family and relatives. They considered her to be ‘wrong one’ and talked ill of her. But the elder daughter never opened her mouth to explain about her mother’s character or the deeds of her brother and sister. Her sister and brother snatched all the gold and money from their parents. They troubled them in various ways till the painful end came to that old couple. They lived in hell every day thanks to their dear son and daughter. This is the karma of having ‘moham’ (attachment) to the wrong type of kid.

Just before death, the old couple sought forgiveness from the elder daughter for spoiling her life and name. They begged their elder daughter to be born to them in the next life too for they said “Even in next life, our son and daughter are going to be equally vicious and bad. They are going to create hell for us. Please be born to us to protect us from them and to hide the wrongs and their misdeeds as you did this life”.

The elder daughter laughed and said “If I had been sincere in taking care of you, then God will never allow me to be your daughter ever” She was not bitter but she was not ready to walk the same hell for no apparent reason. She chose not to give her word to them.

If forgiveness is sought in private when the character assassination was done in pubic, does it count?

What would be the effect of such forgiveness?

Were the old couple really sorry for what they did? What do you think?

Was the daughter being selfish and arrogant in not promising them to be their daughter in the next life?

What do you think of such a daughter? Was her action acceptable?

Me, my guru – Karna receives what he gives!

Me, my guru – Karna receives what he gives!

Pointers to understand the post:

We didn’t overcome our pain today. We’ll not in the next few weeks too. It was too deep to overcome in a few days time. And yet, we knew we need to come to our Guru again and again just so that we stick to this path and hold on to this sadhan. Yes, left to ourselves we would be going astray. We had seen it happen so many times before – both with ourselves and with others. We wanted to avoid that from happening this time.” – Healing is not a quick-fix solution. In today’s 2-minute noodles days, we want instant gratification. We don’t have the patience to go through a channel for more than 2-3 minutes. We are ever restless. And that reflects in our spiritual practices and expectations too.

It needs time and patience. It needs regularity. It needs constant prodding from a mentor or a Guru. And yet, it is worth all the pain, time and wait at the end. Be in sadhan. Be regular in sadhan. You will see results only if you are regular in sadhan. Drawing a symbol to get bus doesn’t fall into the “sadhan” that I am talking about.

We just had to keep going with our sadhan. Yes, we would falter. We would experience pain too in this process. But, this pain was worth it for the prize was worth it. the pain itself was the key to set us free from pain. What a wonderful thought!” – We needed pain to make us realize our area that needs to be addressed and healed. Our key to freedom from pain and suffering also lies in the pain and suffering only! And our techniques help us overcome them easily and more effortlessly in less time.

Me, my guru – Karna receives what he gives!

Me, my guru – Karna receives what he gives!

Like many days before, we came to our Guru’s place with our baggage of frustrations, anger and accusations. In fact, I’ve noticed that most of us would come only with our complaints. We didn’t even think of her much (though we ended up saying ‘we think daily of you maam’ when we met her!!) in our good times. I mean, who had time to go meet a Guru in times of fun and frolic. And then, who wanted to??

But when things didn’t go our way, we went to her place demanding explanations. Today was one such day!

“Guruji, my mother went to temple regularly, did lots of Pooja, knew so many shlokas (sacred mantras) and yet no one came to take care of her in her last days. So, what is the purpose of doing Pooja, chanting and being religious?” asked one among us.

Others joined her with their set of questions.

“My father was such a gentle soul and yet he died. Why?”

“why did God take away my mother from me? I’ve been doing charity work for so long”.

“My mom fed one and all. And yet, in her last days, not one came to feed her. Why be good in such a bad World?”

The questions were many. The examples given were many too. And yet, they all had just one question “Why the person’s sadhan and good deeds didn’t reflect in the way they died or how come good deeds didn’t stop their death?”

Our Guru didn’t answer immediately. She received a call. She went to receive that. In the meantime, we were served our tea. A few minutes later our Guru joined us. She sat comfortably and had her tea as we poured our heart out.

Me, my Guru – Bhagavatam – Bhaktha Prahlad and Hiranyakashyap

Contd....

Me, my Guru – Bhagavatam – Bhaktha Prahlad and Hiranyakashyap

Guru was afraid – if the king knew the acts of Prahlad through other sources, Hiranyakashyap may presume that the Guru had taught young Prahlad all this. That would mean death to the Guru. Guru was not ready to face that punishment. So, he took Prahlad to the Hiranyakashyap and complained that Prahlad was adamant in stating Lord Vishnu as the Saviour God of this World.

Hearing all these complaints, Hiranyakashyap was amused. He felt his son was too young to understand the wrong done by him. So, he took him near and with lots of love tried to explain how Lord Vishnu was the enemy of Daityas and how Hiranyakashyap was the God of this Earth.

But young Prahlad who was just 7 years was sure of his knowledge. He didn’t bat an eye. With an innocence of a 7year old, he corrected his father and said, “Yes father, being a parent you are my God. Because as per shashtra, every parent is a God to his child. But, God of this Universe, of you and me is the one and only – Lord Vishnu”.

Hearing this Hiranyakashyap lost it and started shouting. Yet, Prahlad didn’t fear him. He didn’t change his stand.

As time passed Hiranyakashyap lost his cool and forgetting the fact that Prahlad was his only son, asked his soldiers to kill him by throwing him from the mountaintop. They followed his orders. Prahlad kept chanting the “hari nama” (Divine name of Lord Vishnu). Prahlad was saved. He was brought to Hiranyakashyap. He was enraged. He changed the means to kill Prahlad 7 times. And each time Prahlad was saved.

Not once did Prahlad slip and feel “How can my father hate me so and try to kill me in such cruel ways?”

He was immersed in his bhakthi so much that he was filled with only thoughts and feelings of love for Lord Vishnu. That ‘love’ for the Divine became his protecting shield that protected him. The moment we see the person who is being cruel, selfish, and hurting towards us, we get bound by the Laws of the Universe and Karma. That becomes our seed for pain and suffering.

Questions answered in the link:

Who was Hiranyakashyap?

How hating God brings you close to HIM?

What does chanting the name of God do to us?

If chanting the  God's name brings us closer to God, then when we chant the name of people whom does go close to?

Me, my Guru – Bhagavatam – Bhaktha Prahlad and Hiranyakashyap

Contd....

Me, my Guru – Bhagavatam – Bhaktha Prahlad and Hiranyakashyap

Hiranyakashyap had conquered the entire Earth. Like all Daityas, his sworn enemy was Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakashyap had a valid reason for his hatred – his dear brother Hiranyaksha was killed by the Lord Vishnu also called as Lord Narayana.

Being powerful, Hiranyakashyap forced all his subjects to consider and call him God. He killed everyone and anyone who worshipped Lord Vishnu.

To this Hiranyakashyap, was born his only son Prahlad. When Prahlad was in the womb, his mother was waylaid by Sage Narada. During that time Sage Narada would recite the sacred name of Lord Vishnu. He narrated the Truth about Vishnu. He explained how Vishnu was the Be-all of the Universe and how Lord Vishnu was the only Lord of the Universe. Little Prahlad heard all this when he was still in the womb of his mother. So, when he was born, he was already drunk with devotion (bhakthi) for Lord Vishnu.

Prahlad at the age of 6 was sent to Gurukul as was the custom in those days. (Gurukul is the place of a Guru who teaches all subjects to his students till their 16 years and students would be sent back to their parents after that). There our young Prahlad started singing hymns on Lord Vishnu. He would narrate and regale all with stories of Lord Vishnu. Other students too joined him in singing praises of Lord Vishnu. His master noticing this, tried to talk sense to him – but to no avail. He was threatened but to no use! Having tried all means and having lost hope of refining Prahlad, Guru took him to the King - Hiranyakashyap. Gur was afraid – if the king knew the acts of Prahlad through other sources, Hiranyakashyap may presume that the Guru had taught young Prahlad all this. That would mean death to the Guru. Guru was not ready to face that punishment. So, he took Prahlad to the Hiranyakashyap and complained that Prahlad was adamant in stating Lord Vishnu as the Saviour God of this World.
