This year Buddha poornima falls on coming May 16th.

Starting today I am going with Japa yagna chanting "Om Gurubhyonamaha" 6 malas daily till 16th - totally 108 malas.....

Those interested in doing the same can join for the same...

Each one of us doing atleast 108 malas would be wonderful though...

The number of malas that you wish to chant can be increased or decreased as per your convenience and 'intelligence'.

Just give the number of malas completed as on 16th to me - need that to complete "Japa Yagna" .....

Have a photo of your Guru - Adishankaracharya, Paramacharya, Mahavatar Baba, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa , Mother Sharada, Raghavendra Swami, Ramanujacharya and like....

Light a candle, diya as per your convenience.

Light incense stick (agarbatti).

Do vastu healing and complete the chanting sitting in front of your Guru's photo.

If you don't have your Guru's photo, no need to go shopping for the same now...

Just have His image in your mind/heart and do the chanting....

We are doing this as a form of gratitude for all that we have 'already received from HIM!' ...

DON'T DO THIS IF YOU ARE EXPECTING HIM TO FULFILL ANY OF YOUR WISH IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR JAPA NOW....

Those who don't have a Guru or think their Guru hasn't done 'much' for them - let it be....do when you think your Guru deserves your 'gratitude'.

Dec 18^th is ‘Datta Jayanthi’.  It is celebrated to offer gratitude to ‘Sri Dattatreya Swami’ the first Guru who started and who is the Guru Essence or Guru Presence in every Guru who incarnates on this Earth. He is considered ‘Adi Guru’ – the foremost of all Gurus on Earth.

All who followed Him have kept the Guru parampara burning. They have followed His footsteps and are His representations on Earth.

Let’s thank all the Gurus who have kept this lineage alive. Let’s thank them for their sacrifices. Let’s appreciate their presence, contribution to human race. Let’s sing their praises.

Let’s do it the simple way. Let’s chant “OM GURUBHYO NAMAHA” 100 malas by Dec 18^th.

We have more than 30 days for that date. So, just 3 malas/day also should be enough to reach that target. Those who can, can increase the number of malas that they wish to chant. It hardly takes 5mts for 3 malas.

You can thank all the Gurus in the lineage of Sri Dattatreya Swami

November 19^th is Guru Nanak’s jayanthi – one of the Greatest Gurus this punya bhoomi (land) has produced. Thank him for his contribution to human race.

You can thank your Guru like Adi Shankaracharya, Sri Chandrashekara Swami (also called Paramacharya or Walking Saint of India), Mahavatar Baba, Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishan Paramahamsa, Raghavendra Swami, Madhavacharya, Sri Nerur Sadasiva Brahmendra Swamigal or Jillelamma or any Guru of your family.

Let’s meet at the ‘end post’ with our tally!

Don't after chanting come asking "..but maam, I didn't see any miracle happening in my life inspite of chanting 100 malas...also I thought my X/Y/Z wish would be fulfilled, but it didn't. Is it not the Guru's duty to fulfill my wish!????"

If this is the expectation and mindset, DON'T CHANT!

ONLY those without any such expectations and demands do the Chanting....others follow your regular routine. This is not for you - yet!!!

Today being Guru Pournami, let's come together to thank our Gurus for all that we received both by way of material benefits and for all the experiences and understanding that we have had in our life. This journey of self-awareness had been very rewarding. It has enriched us with better clarity of thought, better understanding of ourselves and our life. We have come to appreciate the beauty and grandeur of our life and relationships. All thanks to our Gurus. Their words and guidance has been the torch bearers of our path since the beginning and for all the years to come. 

Let us sit together once more to thank them for all that we are, we have received and for what they are!

Let us for next five days starting today sit to chant -

Hanuman chalisa 21 times per day and on the last day 24 times thereby completing 108 times in 5 days....(this way your routine wouldn't be disturbed a lot...) You can chant 24 times on any day convenient to you....By the fifth day we would have completed 108 times of chanting HC...

Some of you don't know HC, nothing to worry just chant MM. You can do this japam say 5 malas per day or any number convenient to you.....

If any of you are too busy with your routine then take the entire next week and complete the set chanting by next sunday - no issues.....

it is not about the time and no. of times you chant but the intention and the realization of what we have received and how much Gurus are doing for us.......

This week sit in meditation with following questions:

• Who is my Guru?
• What does Guru mean to me?
• What is the role of Guru in my life?
• What are my expectation I have from my Guru?
• What do I seek from a Guru?
• What did I receive from him?
• What did I give him?
• If I don't have a Guru, then which quality of mine is stopping me from receiving him in my life? Why do I still have it? How is it beneficial to me? Why am I still holding on to it?
• If i had a Guru and let him go, why did I do that? What was the reason behind my words and actions? 
• Do I need a Guru? Why do I need a Guru for?

Ask all the questions and atleast few of them and sit in meditation. Find the answers. Jot it down in your journal. 

The sun shines again! wow moment!

However long may be the rain, sun always comes up! Remember that ALWAYS!

Tomorrow being Guru poornima, those of you who have a Guru - whosoever it may be - say Paramacharya (the walking saint), Shankaracharya, Raghavendra Swamy, Ramana Maharshi, sai baba or our Reiki Guru Mikao Usui......

Sit in meditation for atleast one hour chanting "OM GURUBHYO NAMAHA".

You can have your Guru's photo in front of you.

Light a candle, lamp and also incense stick.

Ofcourse, you should have cleaned the place in the first place.

Sit on a soft cloth preferably white (just an option not compulsion) facing either East or North.

If you don't have your Guru's photo to place separately in front of you, then imagine your Guru's feet and then start chanting.

Put your phone on silent mode.

If you can sit longer in meditation, very good....

Don't do if you are expecting anything in return.

Why can’t I go to both reiki masters?

Well, it’s like sailing on two different boats at a time. You may call it adventure. You may say it’ll speedup your journey and pace, but no you’ll fall into water. There is no way you can ride two motorbikes simultaneously. You are free to take your decision. The call is yours. Now don’t force master to meet your demand. He has his rule book to follow. And in this relationship master is at the higher and giving level (supposedly) and student at lower and receiving level. Surprising how the receiver demands his ‘Giver’ to be! How he demands his ‘Guru’ to act as per his likes and expectations!

What’ll happen to me if I leave right master for the wrong one?

Not much! You’ll go in circles till you again meet someone with ‘right attitude’ as your guide. It just means ‘you’ve decided to learn your lesson the hard way’. That’s all! See ‘right Guru’ as straight line - The short and sweet one towards your goal. And the ‘wrong one’ takes you away from the goal. But if you are ‘smart enough’ and stick to ‘right sadhan regularly then the sadhan itself will guide you’ towards right path eventually. Don’t worry. 

Judas committed ‘suicide’ after ‘betraying Jesus’. When Jesus was crucified and died, Judas couldn’t live with his guilt and gold coins and committed suicide. Even Jesus had told him “It was better if you weren’t born” when he was betrayed. His soul suffered for more than 2000 years and is said to be released of his sin only in this century.

Just understand the journey becomes a little longer, that’s all! So, instead of worrying about the repercussions of your actions and decisions, develop the quality to cherish the journey believing it to be ‘so’ for you (i.e., that it is your karma) and hence walk this path with a smile and enjoy this journey! Where are you going to do it twice? So, make the most of it.

Summary:

For next 6 months, be with sadhan as much as you can. Don’t compare with others. You do what you can. Each unto his self!

Work on your attitude everyday of your life and when you are ready, you’ll meet your Guru.

Guru is like a ‘black cloud pregnant with water ready to shed its water at the earliest. If ‘student’ remains a dry land, all the water goes waste. But if he is fertile soil, then the result would be excellent foliage. Empty your ego for your ‘Guru’ to come in!

Better to be without a Guru than cling to a ‘wrong Guru’.

Once you accept or call someone your ‘Guru’ never mad mouth them.

Don’t let guilt stop you. Let your every fall become an incentive to raise your sadhan dosage.

The entire journey is about experiencing and learning and unlearning the wrong beliefs, lessons and assumptions. Be with it.

The journey runs through janmas so don’t try to understand everything with the limited knowledge and facts and figures of present life.

It’s not about holding the right cards. It’s all about playing the poor hand well.

So, at the price of being repetitive “It’s better to be without a Guru than have a ‘wrong’ person as your Guru". Wait till you are totally sure about the person before making him your Guru.

You can’t serve both the ‘mammoth’ and the ‘mahout’. So, by your decision to take a ‘wrong’ person you automatically stop being student of the Guru with the ‘good’ intentions. So, be very slow in selecting a Guru and much slower in changing to someone else. You may with one step lose the ‘right’ Guru for all ‘wrong’ reasons just like that. And then you also get angry at the ‘right’ Guru for forsaking you.

Even Gurus (the right ones) are bound by some ‘Divine Universal Law’. If you go to a person who believes in manipulating to fulfill his desire, how can you still follow a person who talks about ‘Dharma’, sacrifice, love and forgiveness? No, unfortunately in kaligyuga, the wrong ones are so experts in using and quoting scriptures so well and aptly that people can hardly see through their actions and words at their intent. But what happens to such Gurus happens. But student is not let loose, pleading ignorance.

So, I repeat “beware and take care while calling someone as your Guru”.

In some cases, the ‘right’ Guru is also misunderstood or maligned by his ignorant students. Don’t do that too!

In the case of one Guru, he remained unmarried as he wanted to walk the path of spirituality. But as he crossed his 50’s he found none of his students even 10% to his expectation level, I mean with regards to learning. He was totally disheartened and was worried that his knowledge would end with him and so decided to get married and raise children with his principles and knowledge.

Most of his students left him calling him names. It was so stupid. They married, raised children and then it was right. When their Guru did the same, he became ‘bad’. That only shows their narrow-mindedness. That reflects their character. And their act of ‘Guru-ninda’ brought lots of trouble in their life, but stupid and blind as they were they couldn’t relate and seek his forgiveness. The loss was entirely ‘theirs’.

If for some reason, real or personal, you want to disown your Guru, you are free to do it – by all means. Just don’t talk ill of him. That’s all! Otherwise everyone is allowed to part way with ‘wrong’ Guru when you realize your mistake.

Just ‘don’t bad-mouth’ your previous or wrong Guru.

Are two reiki-masters same? Can I go from one to other?

I’ve found doctors who’ve prescribed antibiotics and costly medicines not curing what one doctor cures with a simple crocin or a multi-vitamin tablet. No, two doctors are same. Their degree is same. No questions asked there. But no two doctors are same.

Like-wise no two yoga masters are same. Similarly, no two reiki masters are same. And especially in reiki, you automatically stop being student of first master if you go to the second master. That’s the rule. So think before you act. Know who you are leaving for whom. Are you trading right?

If for any reason you want to change your master (be it any stream) then take the permission of your master first and then make the change. Like wise, it is the duty of the Reiki or any master for that matter to ask the student to seek the permission of his previous master before taking him as his. This can avoid any ill feeling that can arise at a later stage.

Lord Krishna says to Arjuna “Thousands try to reach me but hardly one in a million reaches me once in a yuga”. So relax, it’s a tough and a long journey and we can not rush about without enjoying and understanding about the journey.

Laharoon se dar kar koi kashti

Kinara nahin hota

Toofan se bachne koi naav

Sahil pe nahi hota

Who jisne dekhe hi nahi

Toofan ko uththe samandar mein

Who kya samundar mein khakh safar karthe hai….

Last word: once you ‘assume’ someone as your ‘Guru’, never I repeat NEVER malign them, abuse them or spread anything about them – even though it may be truth. I’ve seen so many cases where people take in their ‘urgency’ and ‘desperation’ to have a ‘Guru’ end up taking a swindler, fake and an expert in manipulation and cheating as their Guru. They blindly ‘follow’ him for years and when he has swindled all their money or their daughter caught to his evil designs, then they realize their folly. But then they had, mostly lost almost everything. Then they start ill of ‘their Guru’. By all means take the help of law, get him arrested and try means to get back your assets and children, but in the process don’t ‘abuse’ your ‘Guru’. You can tell others about ‘his real nature’ and warn them against him but not by calling him names. Because, you were the one worshipping him as Buru once and now when you abuse him, it becomes ‘Guru ninda’.
