On faith and fear!



Fear and faith - both most used words by a sadhak especially and both equally found in abundance in the same person. 

It's just that when there is "fear" in mind, there is no "faith" in heart

and when there is "faith in heart" there is "no fear in mind".

They both don't and can't co-exist.

Either fear is or faith is!


When is there fear?

When we think with our mind or intelligence,

when we analyse 

when we try to find answers with our assumed logic (i said "assumed" like I did this xyz pooja/sadhan I should be given this result etc....)


When and how can I develop faith? 


When I BELIEVE HIS  intelligence to be more than mine and hence trust his timing (of giving ) and decisions

when I don't compare with others

when I stop living in my head and stop over thinking

when I stop being "adamant" about running my life as per my "plan" and that doesn't seem to fall in place

when I stop saying "Yes, many small things did happen in my life but...." - i.e., all the things /wish that were fulfilled in past is written off as small things and the wish that is yet to come true is laid as a condition to prove "greatness of Reiki" to develop trust in it or Guru or God....(how conveniently manipulative, dissatisfied and ungrateful soul would that be!)


                                    

When we feed our fear with our unnecessary imagination it becomes big and frightful - and that is the cause of our pain - not the wish coming true or not!

                                       

Like wise, when we feed our faith it becomes strong and forms basis of our well being - physical, mental, spiritual and for our peaceful existence. 

No amount of "wish fulfillment" would develop that faith if our attitude is faulty!

                                        

No Reiki/Guru/God fulfilling our wish and performing "that miracle" would develop that faith!

                                               

Let us work towards building our faith stronger than our fear!

Let us work on building our character right!

Faith - what it's made of?

Surrender

No blog for two days. This silence is for you to understand that surrender is not a cakewalk, thanks to the ego that we have so loving and with lots of care created. An imaginary creation (maya, illusion or ego as it is called) has come to be believed to be a reality so much so that the Truth is not experienced or seen! What a state of affairs?

If you have ever experienced Faith, it truly ruins you for the ordinary. Living the life of faith is like walking on a tightrope. And it comes when you surrender totally…

And it is an incredible thrill!

In 1800’s an acrobat named Blondin became famous for crossing Niagara Falls by tightrope, many times with no safety net.

One day a crowd gathered at the falls to watch his most dangerous attempt yet. He planned to push a wheelbarrow loaded with a heavy sack of cement across the tightrope. With that extra weight, the slightest miscalculation could tip the wheelbarrow and twist him off the wire plunging him to death 1600 ft below in the raging waters.

Thousands watched breathlessly as he made his way across, placing one foot carefully in front of the other quietly pushing the wheelbarrow across the spray filled chasm oblivious to the roar of the water beneath him.

When he made it to the other side, the crowd let out its collective breath and cheered. What a feat!

After his crossing Blondin challenged a nearby reporter “Did you believe I can do anything on a tightrope?”

“Oh yes, Mr.Blondin” said the reporter, “After what I’ve seen today, I believe it. You can do anything.”

“Do you believe then” said Blondin “that instead of a sack of cement, I could put a man in this wheelbarrow – man who has never been on a tightrope before – and wheel him without a net, safely over to the other end?”

“Oh yes Sir Mr. Blondin”said the reporter “I believe it”.

“Good” said Blondin “Get in”.

The reporter paled and quickly disappeared into the crowd.

It’s one thing to believe something but quite another to have that level of faith in someone/something. 
However, one person that day did have that faith in Blondin. This brave volunteer agreed to get into the wheelbarrow and cross the falls with the master acrobat. As Blondin topped out the bag of cement and placed his passenger in the barrow, men on both sides of the falls quickly placed bets on the outcome.

Then as the crowd cheered, Blondin made his way back across the falls this time pushing a nervous passenger ahead of him, it looked like another easy conquest for the daredevil. But, when they were halfway across the 1600 ft rope, a man with a heavy bet against them crept over and cut one of the wires.

Suddenly, the tightrope pitched crazily back and forth, the force of the whipping motion growing in intensity. As Blondin fought to keep his balance, he knew that they were seconds away from death.

When the rim of the wheelbarrow came off the wire they would both be pitched headlong into the churning waters. Blondin spoke, cutting through the terror of his passenger in the wheelbarrow “Stand up” he commanded “stand up and grab my shoulders”.

The man sat there paralyzed. “Let go and stand up!” “Let go off the wheelbarrow. Do it or die!”

Somehow the man managed to stand up and step out of the wheelbarrow. “Your arms…put them around my neck!” Now your legs…round my waist!” said Blondin. Again the man obeyed Blondin. The empty wheelbarrow fell disappearing into the waters below, the aerialist stood there using all his years of experience and every trained muscle to stay on the wire until the pitching subsided a little.

Then inch by inch he made his way across carrying the man like a child. He deposited the man safe on the ground.

That’s what it means to live the life of faith! You have to have real Faith in the ONE who is carrying you across!

It is fairly easy to say I believe in Reiki and God (especially when things are going your way by applying Reiki), but are you REALLY willing to have Reiki carry you across a tightrope high above the roar of water!

Faith is not a religion or a ritual or a system either.

Faith in Reiki to an extent that Reiki gives only SUCH OF THINGS WHICH ARE BEST FOR YOU. Faith in Reiki even when situations are not as conducive as you wish/ want them to be. Faith that Reiki has the ability to help you to accomplish jobs assigned to you. Faith in Reiki not for what it gives you but faith beyond it’s giving. Faith to see the love of Reiki even in denial!!! 
Faith asks for more than you think! Are you for it?

No? What stops us from having that kind of Faith is Illusion and ignorance. Think about it till I write again,

Once you meditate and understand this, you’ll understand the nature of desire. The Ego survives because of our desires. So it keeps generating desires one after the other. The story never ends.

But if we take a pause and meditate, we’ll see how our emotions make us run from here to there – driving us crazy.

Then in that state of understanding when we surrender our desire to Reiki or God, then, we know that “whatever happens, happens for our good”.

We’ll not use ‘our stupid logic’ and pose questions like “But this happens in everyone’s life know?”

OR

“But everyone is happy…”

“We’ll not play a ‘victim-card’ to project ourselves as ‘poor baby’.

We’ll stop all these childish games.

And in that wait which is full of faith and trust – not hope of fulfillment, a certain miracle happens. The doors of abundance opens. This necessarily doesn’t mean our desire is fulfilled though. In each one’s life, the abundance and miracle take a different hue. It all depends on his soul agenda, journey, karma, worthiness and need of the hour.

Then, the sadhak doesn’t see the storm that is in his life – he sees the “rainbow” – the miracle as promised by Reiki or God!

Surrender is a big thing! It is not a word as you say or think. It takes janmas to understand it right and apply it.

Many use it to avoid playing their part in the happenings of their life. They are weak ones. They are escapists. Surrender is not that also!

Me, My Guru – On healing the uncertainty

“Guruji, how come nothing in my life is smooth inspite of doing Reiki so regularly?” asked Swathi.

Few of us nodded our heads in unison. Yes, we too felt that way from time to time. We felt all our meditations, pooja, rituals and healings were a waste of time and energy as life didn’t go as planned. Those were the times we sought her company. I can’t say exactly the reason but we – well, most of us stuck to healing thanks to her explanation. But yet, this doubt never actually left us for good a little turbulence and we were shaken out of our faith. Was our faith so weak or does that mean that inspite of faith we were not given ‘secure life’?

“An atheist came to Krishna and said “Look Krishna, look at your plight. A tiny virus which is not even visible has shut down all your temples. How do you call yourself a God?” Krishna smiled and replied “Look closely! I’ve turned every home into a temple!” our Guru paused having replied so!

We clapped gleefully! We didn’t do this ever and yet it was so spontaneous today! We had experienced effect of mass healings during this covid times and it was true. We did feel sanctity of temple at our homes and were at peace most part of that healing period.

She had a visitor and we were left with ourselves for some time. One of us said “That retort of Krishna is great! No doubt, HE is God! Only our Krishna can give such an answer! I wonder how Swathi’s question would be answered now!”

Few of us agreed.

Rahul laughed and replied “That Krishna’s reply was the answer for Swathi’s question!”

So many times i had to answer the following questions but I think i fell short of explaining it the way it could be understood........please refer to my other earlier posts on God......but I think and hope this clears everyone's doubts and queries.......once and for all....

He asks one of his new students to stand and.....

So you believe in God?
Student:
Absolutely, sir.

: Is God good?
Student:
Sure..

Is God all-powerful?
Student
: Yes.
Prof:
My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't. How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)
Prof:
You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?
Student:
Yes.
Prof:
Is Satan good?
Student
: No.
Prof:
Where does Satan come from?
Student:
From...God.....
Prof:
That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student:
Yes.
Prof:
Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student:
Yes.
Prof:
So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)
Prof:
Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student:
Yes, sir.
Prof:
So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)
Prof:
Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you.
Tell me, son...Have you ever
seen God?
Student:
No, sir.
Prof:
Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student:
No, sir.
Prof:
Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student:
No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Prof:
Yet you still believe in Him?
Student:
Yes.
Prof:
According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn't exist.
What do you say to that, son?
Student:
Nothing. I only have my faith.
Prof:
Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Student:
Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof:
Yes.
Student:
And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof:
Yes.
Student:
No sir. There isn't.
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student
: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat.
But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as cold . Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat . We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy . Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
Student:
What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof:
Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?
Student :
You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright
light, flashing light....But if
you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In
reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would be able to make
darkness darker, wouldn't you?
Prof:
So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student:
Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof:
Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student:
Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.
Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Prof:
If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Student:
Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)
Student:
Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)
Student:
Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student
: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain,sir.
With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)
Prof:
I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student:
That is it sir.... The link between man & god is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.

On gratitude and trust!

We talk about having trust and yet one small incident that is not pleasing to us and we are angry and shout “Why is Reiki giving me this inspite of doing sadhan?”

When there is ‘Trust’ not just in word and as word but as a state of mind, it makes miracles happen effortlessly.

Where there is ‘demand’ to have miracles happen in life, we push miracles away from us!

When we think we are ‘entitled’ to miracles and ask “If such things happen to others, why my wish can’t be fulfilled?” OR

“Nothing of this sort of miracle happened ever to me!?”

It happens to everyone and every time. But the complaining mouth and ungrateful heart only finds faults. He cannot see the miracle happening. Even when pointed, he is bound to say “Oh, those small small things happen but this desire….” He thinks he can put Reiki/Guru to work by making them feel worthless and with guilt. NO! It only reflects his attitude of ingratitude. It reflects his demanding nature. It reflects his greed. It reflects who he is and we receive everything in life based on ‘who’ we are and not on what we want! Remember that! So work on who you are instead of what you want and see your path laid up with roses. The one with faith will see roses and the one who is adamant, demanding, selfish will show thorns there!

Now, coming to our Reiki channel - She had faith. Then what did I have when I said ‘see, Reiki arranged you to have such a good senior…?’. Gratitude! Seeing the good in what is happening in our life and being grateful for that is ‘gratitude’.

One should have both gratitude and faith if you want to enjoy this path more and more. It is filled with miracles in every step of our life. But the sight is visible for only those with these attitudes. For others it is filled with questions and accusations like “yes maam, but…..” and “…but why not to me?...”

Your worthiness is based on the qualities and attitudes that you drop and develop. See what you have worth dropping and what you lack which you need to pick. Choose wisely! Develop clarity of thought to make right choices. Otherwise, whole life is lost only in pointing fingers instead of using fingers to count the blessings and miracles!

• Ingratitude and complaining nature has been discussed so many times and it has been told that it is the nature that needs to be left behind. Not because it is bad or sin to own it but because those are the qualities that are detrimental for our well-being - be it materialistic or for our mental peace and well-being. 
• Then what is the nature that causes this ingratitude and complaining nature. Have you thought about it?
• The one big quality is 'the way we condition how our life should be'.
• When we want to control the conditions and quality of our life we expect it to go in a 'very certain' way and any deviation puts us off and we go mad with irritation, stress, anger, disappointment and what not!

Sit in meditation on this and come back with your insights.....experiences and all........

The Faith

Faith

The wind that was blowing was very strong.  it was blowing away everything I it’s way.  A leaf was shivering in this wind.  A bird sitting on the nearby branch looked beneath and above the leaf – many times and asked “Are you not afraid that you would fall off as you are held by a thin petiole (stem)? 

The leaf smiled and replied, “The petiole may be thin but my faith in it is strong.  And it is so, because the petiole is attached to the tree.”

Instead of searching for flaws in present we overflow with gratitude and fall on knees with tears rolling down our cheeks for the abundance of love of Nature/ God/ Guru / person. This stems from silence of mind. And for that to achieve ‘stop cribbing’. One who goes within into that silence (be it for even few minutes) and lo! The magic happens! No one can make it happen!

Only you can by changing from cribbing person to a silent one!

Change of centre of operation opens up doors of happiness!

Sadhan doesn’t mean do reiki for one hour and then hate one or all for the rest of time and complain that Reiki doesn’t work.

“One housewife was reading book and she came across one saying that said “Faith can more mountains”. Immediately she put down the book, looked out of her window, staring at the mountain afar she said “I know this quote to be wrong and I’ll prove it just now”.

She closed her eyes and started praying “may my faith move the mountain” for an hour. After an hour, she opened her eyes, found the mountain just the same, smiled and said “I knew that! No faith can move a mountain. How right was I!” she went to reading the book.
