Right from the post which addressed the question “How Meditation should be done?” and the “benefits of Meditation” till today, every one liner posted states the benefits of meditation.

Before explaining them, I’ll address few of the common questions always asked with regards to meditation.

1. I can’t concentrate. How can I meditate?
2. I can’t meditate as I get lots of thoughts?
3. I can’t silence my mind. So, am not meditating….

All the above statements and related questions have a statement in them which says ‘I can’t silence my mind. But, who ever or whenever did I say ‘sit in silence’….

Meditation doesn’t mean :

· Silencing your mind
· Not to get thoughts
· Concentrate on divine name or form etc., etc….

When I say meditate, I simply mean “State that you are going to meditate for next 15 mts to come” and sit in a comfortable position preferably with incense sticks lighted. Once you close your eyes thoughts would flood your mind. JUST BE! Just be AWARE of the thoughts that flood your mind. Look at them. Let them be. Just observe them.

DON’T JUDGE.
DON’T FIGHT THEM.
DON’T feel guilty or shameful of the thoughts that pass by.

In short, don’t identify with any thoughts good, bad or ugly. Just be looking at them.

Say after 15 mts (approx) open your eyes very slowly after rubbing your eyes and forehead with your eyes.

Remember, never to have an alarm to remind you to open your eyes after 15 mts. That’s all!

Get up and go about with your routine. Follow this procedure daily preferably at the same time and same place (if possible – but not a compulsion!) you’ll be surprised at the benefits that unfold gradually over the period of time.

To know the benefits start meditating NOW……

Me, My Guru – on disturbed mind

 Contd....

Me, My Guru – on disturbed mind

We were silent. We were processing her words. We were looking at our actions. When our mind said “My MIL said this” immediately I would jump in to support it with proofs.

When mind said “but how can she behave so?” I would join it and eventually get angry.

My mind would say “but, what about future?” again I would experience fear based on my assumptions. My mind with its questions made me go from ego to fear to pain to suffering.

It was a vicious circle. It took me on a roller-coaster ride. Once I sat on it, I didn’t get down. It carried me down the gutter. And I suffered – all because I got carried with my mind – not because of what my mother-in-law/kid did. It was not because of my financial insecurity/reason.

Our Guru came back and sat down. Even before she could settle we pounced on her with our questions “Guruji, tell us a technique to stop this chatter”.

Our Guru smiled and said “Do pranayamam. Those of you who can’t for any reason whatsoever – do deep breathing atleast for 15mts. Do anulom vilom (breathing through alternate nostrils) for 15 mts. Then do Bhasrika (where you close your eyes, ears, mouth and push air through nose that sounds like OM).

Meditate! Any meditation is good enough – say atleast for 15mts. Every single time you catch your mind wandering or chattering, draw a symbol, cancel that through and send Reiki for your intention.

उगादी स्पेशल

Let’s make a new beginning

నూతన సంవసర శుభ కాంక్షలు! Happy Ugadi! Ugadi means Yugamu yokka aadi – means the beginning of a new Yuga or era. New Yuga doesn’t just begin with a time striking particular hour or minute, but it represents a new beginning of thoughts. New Yuga means a conscious shift universally made. Now whether this universal consciousness is for good or bad depends solely on the shift made. Each one of us is contributing to this universal shift by giving through our Being. It means if I am frustrated and agitated, I am contributing that energy to the universal consciousness. In spite of me thinking of myself as a good person, karmically speaking as I am contributing agitated and frustrated energies to the universal consciousness, I am to bear the fruits of this karma – sooner or later. But, since it all happens in our unaware state, we are both angry and frustrated when things go out of hand in our lives. Anyone who feels he/she has had enough of this pain in their lives and don’t want any more naturally selects the path that takes them to a point of karma healing.

But, for that let’s understand at what points we can make a difference in the effect of karma in our lives.

Ø The last stage is the Break-down point. And the only way to fix it is Break-down Maintenance. Simply said, a vehicle which has a flat tyre needs immediate tyre change. A vehicle which has no petrol needs to be filled with petrol. Break which is not working properly needs to be fixed. At these points there is no point in talking of the mileage and the engine life etc. The action that needs to be taken is of immediate fixing of the problem. This is called as break-down maintenance.

Similarly in life, when we have a physical ailment, it needs to be attended. Any disease is to be fixed first then thought about correcting the cause generating fact and thereby preventing it from happening in the future.

Ø The next stage is the Prevention Maintenance. Here, we concentrate on the issues that can avert the accidents, delays etc by taking regular maintenance actions. Like we do petrol filling at reserve, periodic and regular service done for the vehicle. This doesn’t though for sure avert accidents. Accidents may still happen. But it stands to reason that we took all the possible measures needed to avert one. Our lethargy and negligence surely is not to blame.

Similarly, we do exercises, yogasans, homam, hands-on etc as Preventive Maintenance.

Ø The best stage is the Maintenance Prevention stage. Here we go for such products that say no maintenance required. We rise to such state of Being where we are not bound by the laws of karma and nature.

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s Guru always insisted on Meditation and would forcefully make Paramahamsa sit for long hours in Meditation. He would say repeatedly “Samadhi state is a must for a sadhak”. One day Paramahamsa asked him “But why should I Meditate. I already see and talk to Mother.”(He meant Mother Kali).

His guru showed his brass kamandalam (an urn used to carry water by sanyasis) and said “See it is shinning and it looks so beautiful when clean. I clean it daily while taking bath. In the same for the mind to be shinning only with the Light of Knowledge, we should clean it daily of all the dust that covers it. We call it as psychic impressions. And the only way we can clean ourselves of the Psychic Impressions is Meditation. So Meditate Daily!”.

Paramahamsa very innocently asked, “But, why carry an urn of brass? Instead carry one of gold. You’ll never need to clean it.”

His Guru was dumb-stuck and hugged Paramahamsa with tears rolling down his cheeks.

All Gurus and scriptures suggest Preventive Measures when they talk of charity, anger and other emotions management, yogasans etc. But, we like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa long to lead a maintenance free life. A maintenance free life is reflected in disease free body, mind and soul. It also means confusion free and clarity driven mind, emotionally balanced state of feelings, and Mind is without fear and soul is unbound and totally free of all dogmas and ignorance.

For each of us who wishes not to be doing the entire daily cleaning up and preventive maintenance we should work for a maintenance free state of existence. That is what the seers call as Enlightened. Anyone who has realized the Self goes well beyond the laws of nature and karma. Simply put,
“खुदी को कर कुछ इतना बुलंद के हर तकदीर लिखने से पहले ख़ुद खुदा आके ठुज्से पूछे बोल बन्दे आज तेरी राजा क्या है.”

It means “rise your consciousness to such great heights that even God is compelled to come down and ask you before writing your fate as to how you want it to be written for tomorrow!”

As you plan to rise your consciousness, I go to do mine,

One more actor dies young – not because of some physical ailment or in an accident but by suicide.

75 Anxiety Quotes to Keep Calm When You Feel Stressed Out

Once more we are taught a lesson by this soul (which would suffer for long time to come because of this decision of ‘suicide’) that success, fame, name, achievements, relationships can’t guarantee us happiness. 13.7 million Followers on Instagram and millions of fans – yet he felt unloved and unappreciated.

It doesn’t mean we are not to chase these things of the world!

19 Resilience & Adversity Quotes That Will Inspire and Empower You
We spend our energy and time on the things of this world – to chase them, have them and then to retain them. Like-wise should be our concern and dedication to address our emotions on daily basis. In fact, that should be the priority of any individual in which ever station of life he is – to be honest with himself and to look at his emotions and keep them in check time and again! We take our emotions for granted and live with them. Many times, because we see people all around us living so! But, also see one jolt from life or people around us and we crumble like a pack of cards. What’s the use of having all the things of life if we are not strong enough to face the ups and downs of life! Work on yourself! Own up your emotions honestly. Don’t justify them! Till the day we justify our emotions – be it being dishonest, lazy, anger, selfish, stubborn, seeking pity, insecurity, sadness etc know we can’t address them – ever! Only the day we stop justifying them will we have power to heal them. Look at all these cases and wake-up! Heal not with the desire to get something in return. Heal not to get over the pain. Heal to gain strength. Stop being a coward! Heal to stop looking out for someone to pamper you and to make you feel special. Heal to have ‘self esteem’. Stop expecting others to understand you, respect you or give you a special treatment.

Reiki Tip :

Many are people who have been inspired by this boy Shushant's films and stories....we need to pay back what we received. He gave some lessons and quite an inspiration - pay back by doing reiki to his soul. Already taught in II dg - don't ask how now...

Instead of waiting for people to die to thank them for their good deeds that they did for us, shouldn't we learn to send them reiki as they are still in their bodies?

Think about it!

Points and questions to be understood :

What causes the person to take such drastic step?

People and situations can be the trigger and they will receive their 'karma' as per their contribution. You and I need not sit to pass the judgement. Universe is an able judge. It has held that post long enough before you and me existed and will continue to run this world even when we are long gone. It doesn't need us to do its job.

Why let all our emotions pile up over the years and let the 'last straw' break our back on bad morning?

Life will be tough. People will be mean, selfish, greedy, manipulative and insensitive. Should we let that break us? Can we let that break us?

Instead of conditioning 'how life should treat us' and what it has to give us, if we concentrate and prepare ourselves to face life for whatever it throws at us, don't you think we may enjoy this ride while it lasts?

Take time to pause and introspect! Meditate.

Don't let your emotions take the call here too!

desire and anger

…..contd…..

Remember one thing. It’s not the end of the world if one desire is fulfilled. No next desire also will bring us on the same point sooner or latter.  So, instead of being restless and being anxious for the fulfillment of our desire,  concentrate on the state of mind.  Learn to stabilize your mind and work on your inner turmoil.  You will come out of this situation as a more balanced person and that is your actual victory because you will be better equipped next time when the next desire upsets your life and your emotions.  Desire can bring about our downfall and I have given few examples for the same but the same desire if handled correctly can elivate us and our life for ever and more!

Dhruv wanted to sit on his father’s lap like his step-brother.  But his step-mother taunted him saying that he should have been born as her son to enjoy that! He was dejected and went sobbing to his mother. She said (what a great mother she was) “She is right! You as my son don’t have the right to sit on your father’s lap! Gain that right by doing tapas and seek a boon from Lord Vishnu for the same.  That’s the only way to get your wishes fulfilled!”

He lost no time in following her suggestion.  He didn’t sit to analyse the situation or the people.  He didn’t start hating them. He didn’t go around talking ill of them.  He didn’t fight with logic or rule of the land to get his wish fulfilled.  He simply followed his mother’s suggestion and went into forest and did tapas! (You neednot go to forest to get your wish fulfilled! Just start meditating at your home and as much as you can – don’t count the minutes or hours. Meditate and do reiki till your wishes come true! Remember the seven year kid Dhruv did intense tapas to fulfill just one small wish and we don’t have patience to do reiki, meditation even for few days/months (he did it 24/7 and we do only max 30 minutes /per and still ask “how many more days?”).
