Right from the post which addressed the question “How Meditation should be done?” and the “benefits of Meditation” till today, every one liner posted states the benefits of meditation.

Before explaining them, I’ll address few of the common questions always asked with regards to meditation.

1. I can’t concentrate. How can I meditate?
2. I can’t meditate as I get lots of thoughts?
3. I can’t silence my mind. So, am not meditating….

All the above statements and related questions have a statement in them which says ‘I can’t silence my mind. But, who ever or whenever did I say ‘sit in silence’….

Meditation doesn’t mean :

· Silencing your mind
· Not to get thoughts
· Concentrate on divine name or form etc., etc….

When I say meditate, I simply mean “State that you are going to meditate for next 15 mts to come” and sit in a comfortable position preferably with incense sticks lighted. Once you close your eyes thoughts would flood your mind. JUST BE! Just be AWARE of the thoughts that flood your mind. Look at them. Let them be. Just observe them.

DON’T JUDGE.
DON’T FIGHT THEM.
DON’T feel guilty or shameful of the thoughts that pass by.

In short, don’t identify with any thoughts good, bad or ugly. Just be looking at them.

Say after 15 mts (approx) open your eyes very slowly after rubbing your eyes and forehead with your eyes.

Remember, never to have an alarm to remind you to open your eyes after 15 mts. That’s all!

Get up and go about with your routine. Follow this procedure daily preferably at the same time and same place (if possible – but not a compulsion!) you’ll be surprised at the benefits that unfold gradually over the period of time.

To know the benefits start meditating NOW……
