“Guru, is there hell?” asked Vaishnav.

“Ask where heaven is” teased Kshama.

“Each will ask directions of place that he decides to go” Swathi teased.

“Has he decided to go there or is he sure of going there?” someone joined and all ended up laughing.

“But you people didn’t let me complete my question. You misunderstood my question. I was about to ask even about heaven” Vaishnav complained.

“Why ask directions to a place you are sure not to go?” replied Swathi teasing him.

Our Guru cut the banter and started her talk “Alexander winning battle after battle came to a forest. His soldiers found from the locals that a monk who was a ‘great Enlightened Being’ resided in that forest. They gave this news to Alexander. He sent a summon through his soldiers to the Master to come and meet him. Soldiers went seeking that Master and when they found him sitting under a tree they said “Alexander the Great Emperor desires to meet you. Please come with us. We’ll take you to him”.

The Master opened his eyes. He saw the soldiers standing with folded arms in front of him. He replied “It is your king’s desire to meet me. So let him come here to meet me”.

Being helpless soldiers took the message to Alexander. Now Alexander sent his Chief Ministers with precious gems and other gifts with a request for Master to come and meet him.

The ministers were led by the soldiers to the place where the Master was meditating. They placed all the gifts in front of him and saluted to him. The Master opened his eyes and asked “What are all these?”

The ministers replied “They are yours, Master. Alexander has sent them to you. He wishes to meet you. Please come with us”.

Life Tips :

Those who are WFH and even others who are at home if feeling bored, depressed or restless to go out - try this tip.

Stop working and being in those "house clothes" (like old torn nighties, pyjamas, shorts etc). Get dressed by 9.30am and be so till 5.30pm. Be dressed as if you are going to your office. You are working still! right? then why not be dressed the same way! 

Why let those special sarees get old in almirahs? Take them out. Complete all your work by 9.30am as if you are going to office by then. Next get dressed in good clothes and then work, play, watch TV whatever.........

Alexander froze in his place. He looked at the Master realized his folly fell at his feet and sought his forgiveness. His soldiers and ministers were surprised to see this. They never saw Alexander bowing down to anyone, seeking forgiveness and being ashamed of his actions. They were moved seeing tears of regret in his face.

With love in his eyes Master looked at him and said “And this is where heaven is. And this is how you travel from hell to heaven”.

Alexander understood. He fell at his feet and confessed his sin of misbehavior. Maser smiled, lifted him and let him sit beside him. They talked for quite some time. Alexander looked very peaceful and relaxed when he came back to his men. They left for their camps. 

At camp as he got down his horse he declared “We’ll stay in this forest for next one month – may be more. Untie your horses and make necessary arrangements for the stay. He entered his tent.

Some soldiers were angry, agitated, disturbed, and helpless and some even cried.

Others were relieved. They were exhausted and thanked the Master for giving them much needed rest. They celebrated among themselves. They planned a talked among themselves about their way of relaxing and resting. They wanted their horses too to be fended well during these times. They slept peacefully. And they also knew for at least next one month they could sleep peacefully – for sure! They celebrated all this and more!

Soldiers who complained were in hell. They had set their mind on the travel to go in a certain pace. When that was disturbed they became disturbed. They were in hell! 


They knew they had no powers to change the decision. That helplessness angered them. That took them to hell. 

Out of anger that felt helplessness came tears. That desire to hurt someone for having foiled “their plan” found its way in tears. They lived in hell! 

Some picked up fight with others. They thought others were irritating them and fought with them. They created their own hell!

Life tips:  

Always put gas burner in 'sim' mode while cooking. As always when I am cooking and also working on blog posts I tend to forget about cooking and get lost in the blog part. I went to kitchen today to drink water and lo! I noticed that I had put dal in sim mode and it was boiling away to glory. It was just done and I got to put it off. But imagine if I had put it in high mode!?? Moreover cooking tastes best when cooked on low heat....

and fyi this is one of the reiki miracles that I get to enjoy most of my days.....reiki sending me to place where I am supposed to be (like to kitchen here....) and saving my piece of work and other things......

Others also knew they had no choice. They knew their pain and their bodies demand for rest! They knew their prayers were answered through that Master and lo! They thanked the Master. These warriors knew that to even survive in any battle both the Master and the animal – like horses and elephants should be healthy, active and energetic. It was sheer madness to fight continuously too! So resting at right time was also part of ‘waging battles and wars’. So they seized this opportunity to revive their tired bodies, mind and intellect. They did the same for the animals too!

As the end of the month came nearer the hell group of soldiers were tired, moody, angry and restless.

But the second group was totally revived, relaxed and come to love the life of forest so much that they were in heaven. They created it. They owned it!

Later when the war started the first ‘hell group’ fell ill, hurt, got wounded and many even died in the battles that they fought.

The ‘heaven group’ was so healthy and happy that they faced with war with immense strength and though were wounded got revived faster and they got to live on to see many more battles.

Each created his or her own destiny with the choice of hell and heaven at every cross road of life. With every bump in road we decide our destination – hell or heaven.

Healthy tips:

If you want to eat those oily snacks favourite of every Indian - be it pakodas, samosas, bajjis etc - go ahead and eat it. Just remember to exercise before eating say for 15mts and then 15 mts later .......these two 15mts are more than the usual time of exercise that we need to do on daily basis...........

don't think it is very tedious or boring. Having healthy habits is not an option. It is a gift you give unto yourself. 

Even our "weakness" can be put to good use if only we start thinking right!

Use your desire or weakness for snacks etc to good use. Use it as an excuse to exercise more. Before long you'll possess a body you so wanted to own since long........not just a good looking body but a fit and fine one too.....this way not only can you put in all the hours needed to work to have your desires fulfilled, but you can also have strength to enjoy your life your way.......

Denial of our weakness is not the path for weak minded.......but putting or making our weakness work favourably can be done with little smart thinking.......

Think about it and work on it.........

if weakness is to watch movies -then do reiki while watching Tv. Keep a list of things which needs to be healed. While watching keep sending to the list one after the other and see your list of healing to be done completed effortlessly. During Ad breaks walk, walk and walk. Inside the house but walk . That way your walking is almost done. Next during songs (most of them are not good) then do yoga........

see think - you can do more than you can imagine if you ask yourself "how do I do it?" instead of "well, I can't do this now, right?".......
