Belief systems

“But, I am not like them. We can’t be like them. God knows how they are like that!”
“I am Ok, but the world is not Ok”
“It’s always the other person who creates problem in my life!”
“But, I am so good….” Such statements and like are actually a Belief System that stops us from seeing the actual truth.

Who use it?

It is commonly used by one and all with an assumption that everyone else is wrong/ bad, but they are not so. It is called as indirect marketing of one’s image, which we consider as good. By stating that others are bad, we actually want to prove and establish the assumed belief that I am good.

But, if the goodness is in relative to people whom we consider as bad, then, is the goodness worth a dime? I doubt.

Just think about it. That means, I am good ONLY as long as they are bad. I presume it would be good news if they are bad for long. Because the day they become good, then I am no longer good. Bad news!!!!!!!!

Once, a newly married couple moved into a new flat. The lady would notice her neighbour - wash and dry her clothes through her window. They always appeared dirty. She used to always think that “This lady doesn’t know how to wash clothes!”

After a holiday, when the wife returned home, she noticed that her neighbour’s clothes appeared very clean. She thought “At last this lady has learnt to wash clothes.”

When she told her husband about this he said, “Darling, just yesterday, I had washed our window as it was too dirty.”

The women then realized her mistake. All the while, her window was dirty and she always thought the other woman didn’t know how to wash clothes.

Kabir said it so beautifully,
“बुरा जो देखन में चला मुझसे बुरा न कोई”

When I went into the world to look for faults, I didn’t find a person with as many faults as mine………

So, as I go to clean my window, you can go to clean yours (optional only),

Till then, keep smiling even as cleaning,

On Guru’s grace – Me, My Guru

Misunderstanding quotes | Mouloud Benzadi

“Oh, she’s money-minded!” there was so much of disgust in Vinay’s voice.

“What would benefit her by way of money? Taking class immediately when you ask or at a much later date?” asked Rahul.

“Immediately” replied Vinay.

“Then if she is really money-minded as you say she is she would’ve taken class immediately. As that would give her money” but she is postponing or not arranging for one itself says she is not money-minded. Right?”

Vinay didn’t have an argument there. So he asked “Then why is she not taking class?” Rahul just did not attend classes, he was in sadhan regularly and over and above that he was working on his way of thinking and himself over the years and that could be seen the way he was dealing this issue and very commendable!

“I can think of umpteen reasons.

She is busy with other classes which she always is.

She is not well

She is busy in/with personal life

The dates – hers and yours are not in sync – i.e., the days she can take and you can attend” replied Rahul.

“Oh! My God! I didn’t know there were so many reasons!” replied Vinay.

Questions answered :

  • What is the basis of pain and suffering in all relationships?
  • What is the basis of misunderstanding in relationships?
  • What is the basis of assumptions?
  • What is miscommunication?
Points to understand and apply :

  • Importance of communication in a relationship
  • Know the area of pain and go to the source of it rather than find a victim on whom we can pin the cause of our pain (నీబాధ  యొక్క కారణనే తెలుసుకొని దాన్ని heal చేసుకో. అంతే కానీ ఇతరులను కారణమని అపోహలో కృంగి పోకు )
  • if you are angry it is better to tell that you are rather than sulk and carry it for ever in yourself and then bring it out at some inappropriate time and on some other person
  • understand the importance of healing our day to day psychic impressions like irritation, conditions and anger
  • how many times we presume the other person's intentions and cause of actions and jump to conclusions
  • give benefit of doubt to other person's act and words - may be they didn't mean to hurt us at all......
