…contd….
Did you understand now how a
simple act of being grateful to your Guru and how voicing it affects your ‘Liberation’
or ‘Moksha’?
Looks too far stretched right? But,
unfortunately nothing in this world is local or topical. Everything is
interconnected.
As they say in telugu (language) theeganu laagithe dolla
kadilinattu.
It means ‘pull at one end and
the entire creeper is affected’.
We can go around justifying
actions or inaction citing various reasons and examples but the fact remains
that the basis of all emotions except that of Love and its expressions is fear
and ignorance. Take any attitude or emotion. Be it hatred, envy,
possessiveness, laziness, jealous – everything stems from fear only. Fear of
losing something that we hold close to us like spouse, child, name, fame,
money, success etc and fear of getting what we dislike like enemies, infamy, dishonor,
ill-health etc. and both these fear stem from ignorance only. Ignorance that we
are this body and we need to fight for our survival! This animal instinct
generates fear in us. So, you see it’s a vicious cycle and hence this ‘samsara’
is called as ‘bhavasagara’.
Since, it’s a vicious cycle, to
come out of it is very difficult and hence we take janmas to come out of it. But,
that doesn’t mean that it always is so that, we are to take many janmas to come
out free! No, once we decide and are strong in our intent, we can come out of
it in a single janma too!
And hence I am asking you to do
the easiest but very effective job of loosing fear of being vocal about your
religious belief, Guru and your sadhan marg or path. As you’ve noticed,
gratitude starts with I – my body, next my kith and kin, Nature and only then
finally we come to Guru (read previous posts of this topic). That means in the
circle of gratitude – Guru’s gratitude is the outermost circle and to go to the
centre of bliss, we need to break the walls of fear. Fear of losing this body
or this body getting hurt is the greatest of all fears. So, to overcome at the
start is next to impossible. So, we work on the little fears first. And being
vocal about our path of Sadhan is one of them. So, I suggested that you take
your Guru’s name in public. You need not fight on his behalf. No need to prove that
he is good, great or any such thing. But, when asked don’t hide. That’s all!
