Draupadi - Mahabharata

...contd....

Krishna was likewise called as :
Krishna - the dark one (because of his dark complexion)
Vaasudev - sone of Vaasudev
Dwaraka nath - resident / ruler of Dwaraka (inspite of being no king, he was accepted as the uncrowned king of Dwaraka by the entire Aryavartha.

Kunti was called as :
Kunti - daughter of King Kunti bhoj

Coming to Draupadi, it is difficult to live with one husband and to please him for a normal woman.  And here, we have one of the most powerful and strong woman - Draupadi not only satisfying all the five husbands as a wife (no, I don't mean physically here!) but they all equally loved and above all respected her.   Don't forget she was married to five most powerful men of her times!  Not one of her husbands did anything without discussing with her.  They never went against her wishes or likes.  They were very sensitive to her needs and were even afraid of hurting her.  Not that they were afraid of her - but they were so much concerned about not wanting to hurt her.  She was always the number one priority in their lives.  By many accounts we may even conclude that she was the only priority of their lives.

Though each of her husbands was wedded to other princess too - none of thier wives accompanied them to forest nor on their last journey to heaven (already discussed in one the the previous posts).

Draupadi was the only inseparable one from all her husbands.  Other wives stayed at their father's place except Subhadra - wife of Arjuna and even she stayed at Dwaraka for major portion of her life and didnot accompany Arjuna into forest during their vanvaas.
