This blog deals with self awareness under the light of knowledge. the knowledge would help us to drop the acquired self - ego and in the process we would be able to see our real divine self.

just a little humour!
Sing the song of Life!
Come to think of it, we
started this journey to be happy and peaceful…..where did we pick up
this seriousness enroute to finding happiness? Happiness is not a
station to be reached. It is in the journey. The journey towards knowing
the Self. And happiness is in just being…
When we get
connected to ourselves, we develop sense of humour. We are amused at not
so perfect things in the world. We are able to see the funnier and
lighter side of situations. We stop being obsessed about perfection
because we have outgrown our belief system which was set by our mind
that said, “I can’t stand anything less than perfect." We keep striving
towards perfection but along with it also are amused by the
imperfections in characters around us and take it in our stride. Let me
give a reason to amuse you today.
A letter from a Punjabi mother to her son. (This letter would be equally funny if not addressed as 'sardar'. Please don't stereotype people and see it as a funny situation.....see it just as a situation and laugh it off! The logic used in every sentence can be applied to any other Indian and it would still be the same funny story!)
My dear Jagjit,
I am in a well here and hoping you are also in a well there.
I'm
writing this letter slowly, because I know you cannot read fast. We
don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the
newspaper that most accidents happen 20 miles from home, so we moved 20
miles.
I won't be able to send the address as the last
Sardar who stayed here took the house numbers with them for their new
house so they wouldn’t have to change their address. Hopefully by next
week we will be able to take our earlier address plate here, and that
our address will remain same too.
This place is really nice. It
even has a washing machine, situated right above the toilet I'm not sure
it works too well. Last week I put in 3shirts, pulled the chain and
haven't seen them since. The weather here isn't too bad. It rained only
twice last week. The first time it rained or 3 days and second time for 4
days. The coat you wanted me to send you, your Aunt said it would be a
little too heavy to send in the mail with all the metal buttons, so we
cut them off and put them in the pocket.
Your father has another
job. He has 500 men under him. He is cutting the grass at the cemetery.
Your sister had a baby
this morning. I haven't found out whether it is a girl or a boy, so I
don't know whether you are an Aunt or Uncle. Your uncle, Jetinder fell
in the nearby well. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them
off bravely and drowned... We cremated him and he burned for three days.
There isn't much more news this time. Nothing much has happened.
Love
Mom. P.S. Jagjit, I was going to send you some money but by the time I realized, I had already sealed off this letter

Situation being same, what makes the difference?
Hell as depicted in Hortus Deliciarum
Once an Indian died and went to Hell and found out that every country
had different hell for its people. First he went to a German hell and
peeped in. He asked the devil as to how people are punished here. The
devil answered, “For one hour, people are made to sit on an electric
chair and then made to sleep on the bed of iron-nails. Later a German
devil comes and beats them for the rest of the day.” Our hero did not
like what he saw and heard. So, he moved on to check out the other
hells.
Other types of hell:
Next, he saw more or less the same treatments being meted out in all other hells.
Lastly,
he came to the Indian hell and found a long line of people waiting to
enter it. He asked the people waiting as to why Indian hell had so much
of people anxious to enter it. The person standing there told, “For
one hour, people are made to sit on an electric chair and then made to
sleep on the bed of iron-nails. Later an Indian devil comes and beats
them for the rest of the day.”
Our hero was confused.
It was same as others. So he asked, “It is same as other hells, then
how come there is such a long queue for Indian hell?”. The person
answered, “True! But the maintenance is so bad that electric chair does
not work, somebody has stolen the iron nails and the Indian devil was an
Indian Government servant. So, he comes, signs the register and goes
off.”
Hell is hell everywhere. But, it’s the personnel who make the difference.
Marriage is marriage everywhere. But, it’s the personnel who make the difference in this institution.
Situation is more or less same everywhere. But it’s the person involved who makes a difference in the situation.
Mirror is a mirror everywhere. But the reflection depends on who stands in front of it.
Just the same. Life is life all along. It’s what you make out of it that makes it beautiful or otherwise.
“मिलो थो ऐसे मिलो के लोग करे आरजू और
जियो थो ऐसे जियो के दुनिया मिसाल दे”.
“If you meet someone, meet them so that they look forward to meeting you again,
and if you live, live life such that people set you as an example to live.”
Wishing you to make a difference in your life...........

I am OK, YOU are OK! Possible?
The common belief systems which harm our relationships are:
If I am right, all others who don’t agree to my opinion aught to be wrong.”
“If he is right, I am wrong.”
“Only one of us can be right”
“Either he or I am right. Tell us who it is?”
This Belief System puts us on the defensive or aggressive side (depending upon my character) and I automatically consider the other to be my rival whom I need to prove wrong. But, it is not so. Both of us can be right individually and yet not agree with each other.
For eg. When five blind men touch the elephant, first one said
“elephant is so small and so thin (He was holding elephant’s tail).
The
second one said “No, certainly not. It is so huge and erect. He was
holding the leg of the elephant.
The third disagreed with both as he
touched the trunk of the elephant and said “but it is so long, not so
fat but yet thin and moving to and fro”.
The fourth who was standing
between two legs shouted at all the others calling them blind and said
“the elephant is not as any of you say. It is like two pillars with
space in between.”
The fifth who touched the tummy bursted out laughing
and said “Oh ye fools, elephant is oval in shape and spreads along the
sides”.
All of them were right, yet none of them knew that the other
was also right.
Upon the road of
Kalinga, a traveler met a man who lived in a nearby village and the
traveler pointing with his hand to a vast field asked the man saying
“Was not this the battle-ground where King Ashoka overcame his enemies?”
And
the man answered “this was never been a battle ground. This has never
been a battle-ground. There once stood on this very field the great
kingdom of Kanishka which was over-powered and plundered. But now, it
is a good field, is it not?”
And the traveler and the man parted.
Not
a half mile farther the traveler met another man and pointing to the
field he again said “So this was where the kingdom of Kanishka was.
Right?”
And that man immediately said “No, no. There
never was Kanishka here. There was a monastery but was destroyed by
people of foreign origin. And now, it is a great field.”
Now
the traveler moved further along the road and sat down under the tree.
There came a third man to whom the traveler said “So, there was a huge
monastery as this place once?”
That man gave a odd look
to the traveler and explained “There never was a monastery in this
neighbourhood, but our forefathers have told us that once there fell a
great meteor on this field.”
By now the traveler was
totally confused. He met an old man who looked wise too. So he saluted
him and asked him “sir, upon this road I have met three men who live in
the neighbourhood and each denied what the other had to say about this
field. Each in turn also had a new tale to tell that the other had not
told. I am confused. Please enlighten me on this subject.”
The
old man smiled and answered “ My friend, each and every one of these
men told you what was indeed true; but few of us are able to add facts
to different fact and make a truth complete thereof!”
Our opinions shouldn’t be our ego projections. They are at the end of the day only opinions
which are bound to change over the period of time. Why be so
protective about them? Opinions should help in knocking out our
ignorance and help us in easing the situation and in bringing out the
solutions to the fix we are in. Opinions shouldn’t be the problem creators, they are problem solvers.
Let
us not identify ourselves with our opinions. They are ours. We are
not because of them. We are not insulted if our opinions are rejected.
Know this Truth. Apply it and become liberated.
The basis of any good relationship should be and can be only when we agree to disagree.
Just remember "A tiger doesn't lose sleep over the opinion of sheep".
And when is the Opinion very strong?

Are we carrying unnecessary luggage?
One morning I wasted nearly an hour watching a tiny ant carry a huge feather across its back on the terrace........
Several times it was confronted by obstacles in its Path and after a momentary pause it would make the necessary detour.
At one point the ant had to negotiate a crack in the concrete about 10mm wide. After brief contemplation the ant laid the feather over the crack, Walked across it and picked up the feather on the other side then continued on its way.
I was fascinated by the ingenuity of this ant, one of God's smallest creatures.
It served to reinforce the miracle of creation.
Here was a minute insect, lacking in size yet equipped with a brain to reason, explore, discover and overcome.
But this ant, like the two-legged co-residents of this planet, also shares human failings. After some time the ant finally reached its destination - a flower bed at the end of the terrace and a small hole that was the entrance to its underground home.
And it was here that the ant finally met its match.
How could that large feather possibly fit down a small hole? Of course it couldn't.
So the ant, after all this trouble and exercising great ingenuity, overcoming problems all along the way, just abandoned the feather and went home.
The ant had not thought the problem through before it began its epic journey and, in the end, the feather was nothing more than a burden.
Isn't OUR
LIFE like that..? We worry about our family; we worry about money or
the lack of it, we worry about work, about where we live, about all
sorts of things. These are all burdens - the things we pick up along
life's path and lug them around the obstacles and over the crevices that
life will bring, only to find that, at the destination, they are
useless and we can't take them with us....still............
Let's
travel light.........when we worry about the facts and situations of
life, we feel them as burdens.........but when we do what needs to be
done with total love without the thought of 'worry' we enjoy what we
do........
when we worry that becomes seed of fear that expresses as a disfunction in our body or a disease.....
We are creating the cause of disease in our body and expect someone else to heal us? Not possible! It will certainly take time but its time you address your fear once and for all and be done with it......that's the only way to come out of this situation once and for all....
And the only way to heal the 'fear' from the root is to 'heal' it with various healing techniques......and no technique gives you overnight results so be with it and benefit from it - for sure!
let's start living and stop worrying...........
because in the end nothing matters...........
