This blog deals with self awareness under the light of knowledge. the knowledge would help us to drop the acquired self - ego and in the process we would be able to see our real divine self.
Look at the river and learn this wonderful lesson........when it finds boulders in its path, it just bends to find its way around it - but it does not let that boulder stop its flow. It keep flowing towards its destination........unmindful of its hurdles and obstacles. It doesn't sit to chat and question their (hurdles and obstacles') intention and reason to be their....it just flows...
its only objective is its goal........and it flows towards it .........day in and day out....
"Chalo ek baar phir se ajnabee ban jaaye hum dono" - i would rather we start again as strangers.........wow what a line from this song from excellent film "Gumrah"
If you may, listen to this all time favourite song of Dev Anand from I think 'Hum Dono'....it explains the philosophy of life to be followed in such simple words...........
You must have seen this or similar videos. if a simple act of ripping paper can give so much of joy then how come we don't have more such moments per day ............just think about it..........smile, laugh and live life - every day.......it's actually very simple as you can see in this video..........
Certainly one of the best hindi bhajans that i've heard by none other than Bhajan-samrat "Shri. Anup jalotaji". This rendition is of Meera Bai - the great devotee of Lord Krishna and the Sarod accompaniment is simply superb here........

‘Manas’ equals ‘mind’ and ‘sarovar’ represents the ‘space’.
There you’ll find tranquility and Lord Shiva means only “within is the Peace
and tranquility” and there is that zone of peace and tranquility in the colour
of silence you’ll find the “one sitting lost in himself”, “the one who is eternal”,
“the one who is effulgent” and that is Lord Shiva. It is not the person as most
presume but the light that is seen as a ‘thumb’ in the silence of hearts which
Upanishads, Vedas and Seers proclaim as ‘Atma’ which I’ve known to exist.
The mind (manas) is equated with sarovar (pond) i.e., a water
body. Just as if the water body is restless or has ripples, waves in it you
can’t see the reflection of nature (mountain, trees, clouds etc) around it or
even your reflection, like-wise a restless mind can’t reflect to you who you
truly are!
Still your mind like a placid lake and see your real self –
the Shiva consciousness in the form of light in the dark chambers of your
heart.
This actually is the beautiful journey called ‘ManaSarovar’.
Take it as they say “it is not for weak minded”, “it is a very difficult
journey”.
“Many die during this journey” i.e., our egos die a natural
death when we go on this painstaking inner journey.
Here I would like to clarify that I don’t mean to discourage
you from taking physical journeys to spiritual places but understand the actual
reason and do with that end in mind. That’s all!” she stopped looking through
the window and fell silent.
We too didn’t disturb or question her. We had our homework to
do. This hit us all a bit and we were trying to understand, appreciate, ingest
and fathom it!
So many times she had explained as to how our purpose had
been very hallow and yet we were doing it in every act (almost) of ours. We
looked at all issues topically and hence never looked or understood the problem
correctly. No doubt, measures we took to address them were very temporary and
based on emotions and here she was trying to make us look at root cause and
remove it – be it personal or national crisis! Would we ever learn this
remained a question that only time could tell. But for now, though still
unclear on may issues and her explanations one thing we all agreed upon was “we
need to heal our anger, fear and insecurities” to actually be able to see
clearly and we vowed to do this from today onwards.
We immediately started doing hands-on followed by
earth-healing and then meditated for not less than 2 hours – oh! After such a
long time!
Felt very relaxed and calm by evening. Did some japam later
before having our tea served. Over tea we exchanged our experiences and
insights. And the evening came over and we didn’t even realize that…………
Concluded…………
Just listen to this song which you must have heart thousands of time once again to understand why we need to heal ourselves .........from "film Dil hi to hai" and great singer Manna Dey sing the eternally beautiful rendition "laaga chunari mein" english translation given for those who can't understand hindi
There was lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ heard. Everyone was
processing what was just said. Most of us could relate to this experience too!
Others also joined with similar anecdotes and experiences from their circle of
friends and family. I was amused as even I had had similar tales to share. The
entire exercise goes waste just with a wrong intention and hallow purpose that
it supports. It just remains to be one more “travel act” the pictures of which
were good enough for face-book and other social sites. The actual benefit is
lost. Not because of some profound reason, but for a simple logical reason.
“you get what you give”.
They made “physical journey” and so they ended up benefiting
physically only.
“They get what they deserve”. So true!
They felt they had to do physical journey and they received
physical enjoyments in return. But, going inwards is the path less taken, less
further continued as it is journey which doesn’t have ‘group companions’ as in
physical journey. This is a lovely journey. You don’t get to use any mode of
transport here. I would say, hence inward journey is no-cost one and the
easiest one but to non-takers this is exactly the reason to not take it up. How
sad is that!
“But once you embark on this internal journey” she continued
“and get the taste of joys on this journey, trust me all other enjoyments look
cheap and redundant.
सबसे बड़ा नशा यह है
Sabse bada naasha yeh hai!
It’s the best of intoxicates and once tasted you can’t let
it go. You want more and more of it. there is no better addiction than the
addiction of going within.
Heart rendering Bhajan "Payoji maine Ram ratan dhan payo " by none other than one and only Ms.Lata Mangeshkar.........
…contd….
When she said such things that
were in continuum to my thoughts that I had my doubts as “may be what Rahul and
others say is true!”
“But Guruji, you always are
asking us to go within /look into your heart, what exactly is there? Because,
as far as we are concerned heart is just a mass of flesh plumping blood. What
can we find there?” asked Vani.
“Most of you must have heard that “Shiva stays in ManaSarovar and you can find HIM there!” she started to explain “No doubt so many make a
beeline to that place knowing fully well that they will not see HIM there.”
“ Then why do they go there?” Prerna asked.
“To tell others what an arduous journey they made. This they
think that would automatically become great and presume everyone would think
the same (though in what sense I don’t know!) and respect them for being so
great spiritually. When in actuality going to any place doesn’t change our net
value a wee-bit if that journey hasn’t transformed us to be a better person
from a bitter one (which rarely happens). On the contrary people become more
arrogant and presume that their good karma was so high and hence only they
could go where so many others are not able to, their sins (karma) has been
completely washed off and that they are entitled to heaven once they die. Such
preposterous ideas people weave in their naivety!” she replied with a smile.
“So true! I heard
many of my aunts and cousins say these things “ joined Sneha “At that time I found
it odd but now I get it. They do this as going to a physical place is easier and
achievable and here they need not let go off their dear nonsensical beliefs and
life-style attitudes”.
