How to bring or increase awareness?


1. Be aware of the breath. This is the most efficient, effective, easiest and time – tested technique. As you go about with the daily chores, just be aware of your breath. Watch your breath. Being aware is to bring your consciousness to that work or past of the body.


2. When the phone rings, don’t lift it immediately. Wait for 3-4 rings. Use this waiting period to bring your consciousness to yourself. Being aware of self, lift the phone.


3. Take time off to watch the sunrise / sunset……As you look at the sun, JUST LOOK AT THE SUN. Don’t see anything else. Don’t let any thought disturb you from savouring your moment.


4. Walk the Awareness way. Walk preferably on the grass. If not possible then on any surface. As you walk, feel the touch of the surface / grass on your feet. Let that feel engulf your entire being. Be with it through out the walk. When you walk this way, it’s not important how much you walked concentrate on your consciousness. If it wanders, stop where you are – bring your consciousness to the feel underneath your feet and then start walking.
