On failures and success!

On failures and success!

Some we win, some we lose…

It’s not if we have won or lost…
It is all about have we desired enough?
It is all about have we dreamt big enough?
It is all about have we dared to work on our dreams even when the whole world called us mad?
It is all about have we given our best shot and have we put our best foot forward to fulfill that daring dream of ours?
It is all about have we lived?
Did we dare enough?

If answer to any or all of the above questions is yes, then nothing else matters.

Yes, not even the ‘failure’ of our attempt.

Yes, it is NOT THE FAILURE! The attempt is the failure…not our dream. Not our possibility!

Learn from mistakes. See where we have failed in our attempt. See why we have failed to get the results that we sought.

Work on those mistakes and GET UP, RISE and work and walk towards your goal ONCE AGAIN!

Look not; hear not what the world tells you or talks about you and your failed attempt.

Yes, it is the attempt that has failed and not YOU.

Quit not till you have exhausted all your strength.

Rest not till you have tried one more time.

Because, life is not about just success!

That success which is defined as getting ‘something as expected’.

Life is all about you caring enough to try more than what you were told your limitation was!

Life is all about giving yourself up to it in toto.

Life is in action and not in results.

Life is happening when you participate in making history.

Let Success be read as ‘tried enough, loved enough, lived enough’ from now on……..

On Teachers Everybody – Me, My Guru

Contd....

Failures are those who use all their energy and time on finding fault in others, complaining, proving others wrong and in destruction. You decide what you want to be? A failure or a successful person? Either way, you reap benefits of your choice! We can’t say “I want to be successful and happy and yet be cringing on others success and proving to be wrong or bad. You just can’t. So know the consequences of your act and then do it.

As Rahman in his Oscar  winning speech said “At every turn I had a choice to choose between love and hatred. I choose love everytime and here I am”. Your love for one neednot and cannot be the seed of hatred for other. It just isn’t love then.

That is devilish nature and that nature and that nature for sure cannot give you ‘jannat’ – heaven even if ‘you die’ in the name of love – even if that love if for the religion and God you believe and that has been told by your religious head!

If you can’t believe Rama or Krishna, then don’t waste your entire life preaching to people that they didn’t exist or that they were mere princes and not God. Because, if all their proofs be true, then people like me will revere them more from then onwards. Why? Previously, I was praying to them thinking they were Divine Incarnations. But now that I know they were ordinary people, then I would Idolize them and do ‘hero-worship’ them. Yes, if as an ordinary human they could express such gem of a character, then kudos to their personality. Now, I would look to them for inspiration every hour of the day. Because if they can then even I can. They have opened up the ‘possibility of me’ being a ‘super-hero’ by leading by example. Wouldn’t my love for them increase multi-folded times? Of course, it would!

Someone comes to prove that Jesus was married, then I would say “wow. He, Rama and Krishna being married could be so balanced, then why can’t I? They lead a life similar to me yet were so spiritual and followed the path of Dharma. They never compromised on their principles and character. So how can I give an excuse of my family to get away with all my faults and wrong-doings?”

And to people who believe, don’t be angry or hurt by people who come to prove you, your beliefs and your religion, God wrong. Know them to be failures with nothing constructive to do. But you don’t sit to condemn them. Don’t waste your precious and limited energy on such negative people. As it is Reiki that we do is little, then why waste all that we received on arguing or thinking about how wrong they are? Just disconnect yourself from their existence and channelize all your energies on building up something useful, good and beautiful in your life”.

Ramesh sat with head bent all through. He simply murmured “sorry” at the end.

“Oh, don’t” correct Rahul and Aziz immediately. Thanks to you, we benefitted with such a lecture. We used to hate people of particular group and particular religion. But now we are clear on that. That cult and group people who talk ill of Rama and Krishna need not be credited with existence at all! Infact, we have already started healing them and are free of irritation towards them. We feel so light already. These people of other religion who kill in the name of their God – now we can only pray for them to be shown the right path. Now we know that what they are doing is because of their wrong assumption “If I am right, all others should be wrong and hence wiped out”. So now we are just against their ‘wrong notion and thought’ and not against them. So relax even with your ‘wrong’ you’ve done us good”.

Same old, same old – Old wine in New bottle!

Contd….

Same old, same old – Old wine in New bottle!

Life treats all alike. It plays by the same rules with every one!

The one who while ‘stopping goes within, connects with himself, corrects his priorities, way of operation, behaviour, values, comes out of ‘rest period’ as a more balanced, happier, content and with clearer vision of himself and how to go about his job, relationship and his life in general.

Why all this talk now and again?

With the advent of New Year most of you must be expecting things to change for better. We naturally assume ‘everything to go to that happy place’ with the press of ‘New Year button’. It is not so! If only it was so, my job would be redundant and I would be spared of all this trouble too!

Then am I to be pessimistic?

I didn’t say that either!

This year will express itself it way! I can’t decide that.

But, the thing that I can decide and act is that this New Year I am going to look at things differently.

I’ll relate differently.

I’ll express differently.

And maybe , hopefully I’ll write differently.

I’ll think differently.

And for this ‘difference’ to be in the right direction I’ll still hold on to old story of regular sadhan, including more techniques in routine and working on being more aware.

Though, all is said in multiple ways and multiple times, most of the ‘sadhaks’ are way too far away from ‘this’ finish line.

So, our portion though would be more or less same, the way it’ll be dealt with will hopefully be different.

After every period of silence, if any of you have noticed, the writing has changed, the presentation has changed and I wish to believe it was for better. This way I don’t see a reason for it to be different than before.

Every break is beautiful. Every break is useful. Every break can be productive. Every break is needed. But all this is understood, accepted with right clarity of thought.

Every break is painful. Every break causes suffering. Every break is an excuse to complain. It becomes an excuse to seek favours. It becomes an excuse to attract attention to self and needs of self. It becomes an excuse to cling to others and justify being irresponsible, coward, undisciplined and above all to seek pity from others. All this and more when our logic is used to create pain and suffering in our lives. All this and more when our intelligence and energy is used to 'be' how we are and where we are as a person!

So - look at self to know how a break has impacted you. Learn from it and do the needful.

(Indian calendar which is lunisolar based  begins with ‘Ugadi’ that falls in April. So, technically our New Year begins in April with Ugadi.

But with the influx of Western fads and fancies we have come to assume and greet each other ‘New Year Wishes’ on Jan 1st.)

 Pit falls :

Why are we not able to learn the 'right lesson' from the right experience?

1.Basically because we use our logic to ask wrong questions.

2. Instead of asking questions like "how to make best use of my time/wait/situation?" we ask "When will this end?/ Why me?/ Why doesn't XYZ help me?/ " etc etc...

3. Instead of seeking solutions or ways to deal with the situation we end up praying/asking for ending the present situation.

Hard facts :

Winners and losers both have and face more or less same situations, challenges and failures. But one concentrates on making the best use of it. And the other used all his energy in anger, crying, complaining, finding fault with others, being jealous of others etc etc.....

YOU decided whether you will come out of every situation a better or a bitter person.

Any questions in this topic?

Area to be aware of and correct it when and if you find it:

People accuse Reiki/ system of healing /Guru/people in life (and even dead)/ Universe/God in the name of "SEEKING ANSWERS".

In the above case heal the anger, expectations, demanding nature, conditioning, desire ......

Why it is hard to listen to this suggestion?

Because we end up justifying our demands, feelings, emotions, actions and expectations instead of healing them!

On sayings and quotes! On taking pride of your journey!

On sayings and quotes! On taking pride in your journey!

“Take pride in how far you’ve come and

Have faith in how far you’ll go!”

Take pride in how far you’ve come – Pride is way different from being proud or arrogant.

Literally, though both words are used interchangeably, they imply different connotations when used together.

Pride means having a sense of deep pleasure or satisfaction in one’s achievements or possessing qualities that reflect something positive about someone – like intelligence, selflessness, hard work, and so.

Here it means you have every right to feel good about your achievements, success and journey.

Pride is used to denote the joy of celebrating one’s achievements. When we overcome lots of hardships in life we have the right to celebrate that strength and resilience in us.

When we face failures and are still going strong, we have the right to take pride in that.

The pain and suffering that we must have endured in our life journey is known only to us. Some we’ve overcome. Some we’ve survived. Others we’ve moved on. We’ve faced a few and grown as a person too! All this is reflected in our life journey.

We can celebrate such a journey. We can take pride in that journey.

But, there is a flip side to this. Many end up being ‘proud’ of their failures, pain and suffering and obstacles that they face in life!??

But ‘one condition’ unmet clouds our ‘clarity of thought’ takes a toll on our ‘muladhara’ thereby pushing us towards depression and ultimately suicide and death.

How people in Industry treated him is unpardonable but we can’t overlook the fact that ‘one precious life was wasted, his family lost him forever’ just because of his misplaced expectations, conditions and self-worth.

Please Note: This article was written when it was assumed that the said actor committed suicide. It was later found that he was murdered. Still, the article holds good for the "suicidal tendencies, depressions and related mental problems". Whether he committed suicide or he was murdered doesn't make a difference in the way we need to look at 'emotions that drive us crazy'.
The news was used ONLY to put forth a point - not to point fingers at the actor. When we hardly know a person, how can we judge his actions?
But, we can look at our own emotions that are similar to his perceived self to correct them.!!!! And that exactly was done here!
And as to why someone is murdered or why a person chooses death in a particular fashion read articles on karma, destiny, how we attract situations in our life, why Dhritarashtra had to face his karma 50 janmas after his committing the same....

Answer these questions if you have understood :
  • How filled is your cup?
  • What is your cup filled with?
  • What do you plan to empty yourself of?
  • When and which is the point in life which says "No more moves possible - time to end it"?
  • Does suicide end our problems?
  • Is death end of all our problems?
  • Does crying solve our issues?
  • If begging is all we have in the name of faith, is it worth it? Will it serve any purpose?

Guru poornima

…contd…..

Mother Theresa in many interviews had accepted that at tough times, when things weren’t going right, she had doubted the existence of God. She had cried doubting her ‘belief’. Then she had in prayers sought ‘strength’ and then kept moving on. Before the final belief came, many moments of despair, fear, disbelief came.

Her greatness doesn’t lie in the fact that she was ‘Great’. No, it lies in the fact that she had her weaknesses like all others but she didn’t accept it as inevitable or destiny. Everytime she slipped, she bounced back with more vigour. She worked on her weaknesses and she used them to increase her ‘praying time’ and meditated more and that transformed her into ‘The Great Soul’ that she became.

Swami Dayananda Saraswathi, the founder of Brahmo Samaj had written a book and had given it to a student for editing and printing. Someone came to meet him and he became engrossed with them and left for railway station. He was leaving the town that day. At station while waiting for the train, he asked his student if he had brought it and t he student said “I am sorry I forgot, I left it behind”.

Image result for image of swami dayanand saraswatiImmediately Swamiji lost his temper and shouted at him for being so reckless. After sometime when he gained his composure he asked his student not to give ‘that book’ for publishing. He said “What’s the good in writing about ‘how to win over your weaknesses?’ when I am not able to control my own anger on such a small issue. He worked on himself for many years and when he found he hadn’t lost his temper for many years then he had the book published. That is the character of a ‘Guru’ - One who is ever aware of his falls, humble enough to accept it and work on it immediately and rests not till he wins over it is the person fit enough to be a Guru.

Thousand salutations to Mother India who has begotten such noble souls as her children! And equal number to God Almighty for having given me an opportunity to breathe the air these great souls had breathed and to tread the soil these souls had walked on. Being born here, why and how can’t I get inspired to follow their footsteps?

I’ve miles to grow before I sleep, so hey heart, mind and body of mine, tighten your seat belts as we need to do lots of work here.

Image result for image krishna arjunaThese Gurus had their weak moments and so did others. As told by Krishna to Arjuna “This path is thinner than a needle and is so wrought with temptations, that slips are more than success. But blessed is a yogi who gets up every time he trips to embark on this journey once again. He, my dear Arjuna, is dear to me”.

So relax even if you falter now and then. Don’t be afraid of falls and failures. Infact, I would suggest you accept them as inevitable in this path as ‘speed-breakers’. They may slow down your pace and can’t stop it altogether. The five weaknesses “ kaama, krodha, lobha, madham, matsaryam” if had been easy to overcome why would it take so many janmas for us to win over ‘ourselves’. As rightly said “It’s easier to win over and rule the entire world and more than to win our own sweet self. And so,

 Mann ke hare haar hai

Mann ke jeete jeet!

It’s all a mind game. If you ‘think’ you won you did, if you ‘think’ you ‘lost’, you did.

So, you need to win your ‘mind’. That’s why this is such a difficult and yet beautifully challenging goal to strive for. Nothing is more satisfying that winning over our own weakness.
