On choosing a master!

On choosing a master and being a 'shishya'

When you come before spiritual Guru get ready to get chastised.

Guru's role is just that. If you wish to be his 'shishya' be ready to be chastised. 'Shishya' means one who is chastised or ready to be chastised.

If you want to be someone's 'shishya' and are not ready to follow blindly what they say, then you don't become their 'shishya' inspite of being one in letter. I would rather you remain away from the person whom you feel you can't trust without questioning and following blindly.

If a master has a rule a student can't be a student and yet question it. Decide if you want to be 'his student' or someone else. Because as a student you automatically lose the right to question your master....

If you can't believe the 'intention' of the master you seek to follow or be guided by, be away from such master.

If you think you know more than the master, then be away from 'such master'.

If the 'integrity of master's character' is doubtful in your eyes, then shy away from him.

When you go to a master, you are going with a belief that he is capable of helping you see yourself for who you are! It is your duty to bring your 'trust' on him with you. It is not his job to convince you to follow him.

He doesn't need you - remember that!

YOU need him..

If your master needs you, then pity on you for choosing such a master....if your master is desperate to hold on to you or see that he doesn't lose you - even God can't save you from such a choice that you have made ..........
