What’s the benefit of this simple exercise called Meditation?
As simple as this technique sounds, it’s the ultimate in the spiritual path of Self-realization. Please, don’t rub it aside as one only for the spiritual seekers or aspirants. Just look at the benefits and decide if it is a must or not for a man of the world.
1. It has been proved scientifically beyond doubt that a mind that concentrates on a single object or a thought, even as odd as ‘Monkey’ calms down eventually. Thereby, blood pressure comes down and the body releases ‘feel good enzymes’. The greatest bane of taday’s cut-throat life style is hypertension, blood pressure, heart attack, insomnia and such related diseases. Just by meditating it’s found to calm the nerves and keep all these above mentioned diseases at bay.
2. An agitated mind creates a problem where there is none. Whereas, a calm mind finds a solution and an opportunity where there is a problem.
Life is a journey with unknown twists and turns. And it always throws them suddenly. Now, only a person with alert, calm and camposed mind can find opportunity at every twist of life. This internal state of equi-poise comes naturally to a person who regularly meditates.
3. Instead of being a reactive person, we behave as pro-active person.
4. An agitated mind weakens the body. And the person finds even daily chores a torture to do. On the contrary, a calm mind has more energy that is passed on to the body and in turn the body effortlessly goes through the daily routines effortlessly.
5. “God, give me the strength to change the things that I can. Give me the courage to accept the things that I can’t and the wisdom to know the difference between them”. This prayer is answered in affirmative for a person who meditates.
These are just a few benefits that a beginner need know…….. good enough for anyone to start the one act that is ONLY beneficial both in the short and long run of it……….
